u only need to skim my blog for less than five minutes to figure out i am unfortunately very invested in these two fucking idiots. i think they have a really interesting dynamic and there's a lot of potential in terms of both comedy and more dramatic themes. their relationship is one that focuses a lot on trusting one another and a lot on the "you saved me" dynamic (which is reciprocal btw it's not just kakyoin but i'm not gonna ramble about that unless someone wants me to) which i have come to find i am a HUGE HUGE HUGE sucker for. just between the absolute hilarity of these two completely AWFUL shithead teenagers bullying the adults together, dicking around hotel rooms as they travel the world, and making fun of each other as theyre presented with new cultures and situations and the hgnghgn. t...touching i guess moments where they both help each other out of their shells and to become better, more well-adjusted people, i just care this ship and its potential a llot. ugh but im so embarrassed that i am. i cannot put into words how much i loathe the way the majority of the fandom interprets jotakak. like it's gotten so bad i use the noritaro ship name to avoid being associated with these people. jotaro and kakyoin are not that hard to understand if u just look at their fucking character motivations and actions but somehow the people who make content for them cannot seem to have comprehended anything of the sort when watching/reading stardust crusaders. the only thing they saw was "ooh two underage asian boys i can fetishize!"

now to be fair to the fandom not all of the majority are like That but they still grossly misunderstand both jotaro and kakyoin and it manifests in the fanworks they create and it's so infuriating like GOD.

there are already many a post about how grossly out of character kakyoin can be in these fanworks so i wont touch on that (again unless someone wants me to), but they also do the same to jotaro and it's such an injustice. they make jotaro out to be this domineering, suave, kindve manipulative bad boy who's horny 24/7. im sorry do you not know anything about jotaro other than how he looks? jotaro is solitary and has issues with authority but that doesnt mean he's dominant. he is the LEAST smooth crusader by a fucking landslide like my god did you listen to ANY of his one-liners? what this fucking loser thinks is cool is so dumb. he's hard-pressed if he's trying to fluster anyone, ESPECIALLY someone like kakyoin. jotaro is an asshole but he doesnt have the social knowledge or the malice to be outright manipulative. jotaro is a DELINQUENT, NOT a bad boy, and yes there is a difference i hate you all and that phase only lasts during his high school years so shut the fuck up now. last but not least jotaro is one of the most painfully asexual characters i have ever seen i have no idea WHERE people get the "oh he's such a horndog he wants to put his dick in something as we speak" from but i will shoot it dead i will commit mass murder over this

anyway long-winded way to say when jotakak fanwork is done right (ie it's accurate to their characters) it's so good. literally my favorite (unfortunately). but for some reason people just don't understand them or dont want to understand them so they can shove them in out of character boxes that makes it easier to get off to them and I'm tired of it. jotakak can be sweet while still being in character but yall just can't comprehend there's more than one type of way for a couple to be sweet to one another and instead do this. I'm tired. anyway
