This piece is just absolutely fantastic, and I have to stop myself from gushing over it.

Flourish AU - Ceara the Defiant - Order of Whispers

"Someday you'll see, Tyria needs me."

Aurenthir and Ceara go fishing, but Ceara's bad at it and gets frustrated, so she pulls out a bomb to blow the fish outta the water and Aurenthir has to stop her like "Sis, that is illegal, please don't do that."

Another shot of my AU Ceara. Mainly as an excuse to talk about said AU a bit. The idea was based on the question of what would happen if Ceara had been more interested in magic than tech. From there there would be no asura college, no omads machine, no Mordremoth, thus the name Ceara still. I figured a cool outlet for her to go down in dark magics would be the Nightmare Court.

I went ranger, and then druid, because of the interest in magic more than tech made sense to step away from engie’s tech focus, but I wanted to stay in the midweight armor classes. That and sadistic healer is best healer. 

Later on, after the events of the bloodstone, it just made even more sense to have her so interested in what is more or less solidified magic that she’d be bloodstone corrupted. Which opens the door for her to be even more unstable, nearly to Scarlet Briar levels now, and less than loyal to the Nightmare Court.

In my mind her end goal, ever since the bloodstone explosion and her finding out it was that what brought Balthazar back to semi-power, is no less than to use one or more of the remaining bloodstones to become a god. Replicate the explosion and the ritual that old Balthazar used, or invent something similar, and rise up above everyone else. She’s a bit full of herself lol. To that end she’s more or less using both the White Mantle and Nightmare Court to further her own plans of godhood.

Now to actually get myself to write some of this out for once lol.

Mirror Images - pencil rough

What happens when the dragon corrupted part of your mind separates itself from you and wants to continue its mission, while still tormenting you?

I first thought of this images many moons ago when I was writing my first Scarlet Briar story. I had envisioned a set of "comic book cover" style art pieces to go with each of the chapters. (At the time, the story was only 6 chapters long). I started sketching out the first one, but never finished. Recently (meaning a few weeks ago), I made the decision (with some help from Tazzy), to work on this piece.

It's meant to be a comic cover of sorts, so it will be inked and probably flat colored with some shading, though Im not sure yet.

every now and then I go through my WIPs deciding what I want to work on and stumble across this snippet again, killing me instantly

“Ceara, I just want to ask you about something, and I’d really appreciate it if you could be straight with me for a change.” “Darling,” Ceara replied with a smug, mischievous wink, “You know I’m not straight.” “Ceara.” One breath in, one breath out. Pirkko resisted the urge to kick her under the table. It took much more willpower than she’d like to admit. “Come now,” chuckled the elder sylvari with a flourish, “You walked right into that one~! But, fine.” She settled onto the table, crossing both arms under her chin leisurely. She wasn’t actually at ease, but anyone who didn’t know Ceara well enough may well have fallen for it. “Go on, then. Out with it. What do you want to ask?”
