Back Then~

Summary: You can tell that someone is thinking about you, in a different way then before, just by the look in their eyes.

Genre: FLUFF!

Note: I hate it when most of my good ideas come to me in the shower!

You can tell. Most of the time.

The way when someone who was in love with someone else, you can tell that they are just by the look in their eyes. They would shine a lot brighter and be so full of warmth.

There are other signs.

Fluttering feelings in the chest, tingling across the skin, warmth spreading throughout the body.

It was very common and quite adorable. Also extra adorable depending on the person.

The female with white hair blinked in surprise. She was special. Different.

She wasn’t made ‘normal’ you see, a creation of some weird magic and was learning about normal human emotions.

When that taller brunette boy said that he liked her, as in like like, she felt her heart stop slightly as a dark crimson blush spread across her face. She looked ready to burst into tears.

“But why?” she said. “I’m n-not...not...”

“But it doesn’t matter! You’re you DeeDee! And that’s all that matters”

That day after her life got better and when she told her friends they cheered for her!

“Congrats DeeDee!” Her friend Madilyn gave her a big hug, Deirdre only laughed and smiled, she was so happy.

You could see it in her eyes.

The group began talking again, various subjects coming across their laps when Deirdre brought up something.

“So Maddi? When did you know?” The brunette raised a brow. She was about to say ‘know what?’ when something clicked in the back of her mind.

“Oh...OH! Oh ummmm..uhhhh” She rubbed the back of her neck, a quirk she picked up from her boyfriend Joey. She started doing it recently when she got nervous.

It was rather adorable.

“Come on I wanna hear about it!” Deirdre whined. “I kinda wanna hear this story too” Sae commented, which almost made Maddi choke on her food. A thing commonplace when she spent time with her friends.

“Yeah come on Mads. Tell us when you realized you liked Joey huh?” Tea poked the other brunette on the shoulder, Maddi gave her a quick glare, the embarrassment began heating up her cheeks.

“Well...uhhh...”

She saw the glint in Rii’s glasses, which made her swallow and of course Joey was also looking rather nervous about it. Sure they have told the story of how they met and became friends but not of how they realized they were in love with each other.

“Welll...I uhhh....” she cleared her throat, brushing away a loose strand of hair from her face as she tried to compose herself.

That is when Yugi coughed, a somewhat innocent grin on his face. “I...kinda know when Joey did” That phrase earned Yugi some really weird faces from the blonde, and some exaggerated movements from him as well.

“Yuge! I told ya that in confidence!” He blurted out, earning shocked looks from the whole group, even more so from Maddi herself.

“......Joey?” She asked him, he eyed her nervously, hands visibly shaking.

“....Remember dat day? When that lousy Duke Devlin showed up?”

“And you were put into a dog suit yes I remember”

He glared at her. Not the right time to bring this up.

“I wasn’t just angry about the whole dog thing, or even the fact that I lost. I mean yeah I was angry about dat but....it was because I got dis....” He rubbed the back of his neck.

“Dis angry pang in my stomach that you could like a jerk like dat!” Those usually soft brown eyes he had now bore a different fire in them. “Like he could say all does dings about ya? Back then? That made me so angry!”

“I was over him a long time ago Joey. You didn’t need to worry about that...”

“But I did! Like he could just waltz back in here and try to take you away. I wasn’t having it! That’s when...Yuge noticed so I told him....”

The group was silent.

“Really? That long? Wow” Tea let out a breath she was holding. “I am surprised it took you both as long as you did.”

“So....he crushed on her first. Interesting....” Replied Rii, adjusting her glasses once more.

“Awww. You are so adorable. So now we know about Joey...” Deirdre turned her attention back to Maddi.

“What about you?”

Yeah what about her?

Maddi swallowed out of shear nerves.

She tried to keep her words held back but something pulled them out before she could think of something else.

“Back when he saved my life”

Nearly everyone in the group looked like they had a heart attack. “You mean back in Duelist Kingdom?” Tea screeched, the other brunette gave a nod.

“Yeah. A while back huh....”

Yeah it was.

Meanwhile Deirdre was sitting there smiling. “Naaaw~ You two are so silly hehehe~”

Yeah. They were silly huh? But they took their friends reactions in stride, holding each others hands as their friends voice began to drown each other out.

Yeah.

It took a while but they got there.

And that’s all that mattered
