I recognize most of these songs and/or artists. Some favorites, some standards, some over-played, some “oh I remember hearing that get sampled”, and “oh that’s a cover song, nice”.
Why am I posting it here? I don’t quite know. I’m cleaning out some bookmarks, and there’s stuff here I want to listen to later. I’ve already added ‘em to my “batch listen” playlist, but I thought I’d post the main vid here. Then, if/when I post those later, I can say “hey, this is where I re-found the song”. I guess? Idk.

Since the Omarion/Mario Verzuz, discourse has been flying on social media about the R&B vocalists of past and present. Many music listeners are clearly underwhelmed not only with the vocal ability of current R&B, but the lyrical content as well. One of those noticing a decline is Boys II Men alumni Shawn Stockman.
'One Sweet Day', 'On Bended Knee', 'It’s So Hard to Say Goodbye to Yesterday', are all instantly recognizable anthems from Boys II Men. Stockman, along with Wanya Morris, Nathan Morris, and Michael McCary brought R&B to a global level with their chart-topping discography throughout the 1990s. Boys II Men has sold over 60 million albums worldwide. The 1988 group has three certified gold singles and seven platinum. It goes without saying, being part of the best-selling R&B act of all time gives you a certain authority on the subject. Shawn Stockman knows this all too well and used his industry experience to shed some light on the state of R&B music recently. In a medley of tweets from earlier this week, the 'End of the Road' singer gave some honest opinions on today's vocalists.

He continued to explain his point of view, “R&B has lost their identity because it felt like it had to compete with the bravado of the hip hop world. Because labels stopped supporting the perception of Black men being more than displaying a ‘thug image’."
Everyones a critic
In his rant, Stockman clarified that he still thinks this generation has great talent. He reposted Ella Mai and praised Luke James on his Twitter page following his brief rant. But unfortunately, this Philly-born star isn’t too pleased with the way mainstream singers in the genre are currently portrayed. Particularly, male singers appear to be the center of Shawn Stockman's issue.
It’s an observation that is hard to ignore. The lyrical content and imagery of R&B music were comparatively tamer in the 1990s/80s. Truly, there's a stark difference between ‘I’ll Make Love to You’ and ‘I Invented Sex’. It was once rare for R&B stars to curse heavily on records, now the lyrical content is nearly comparable to hip-hop records. Of course, music changes constantly and it’s natural for trends to shift within a genre. But judging by the responses to Shawn’s tweets, music fans are sorely missing the romantic aspect of rhythm and blues.

Of course, music lovers should stream whoever they like regardless if they agree with Shawn Stockman or not. Whether your loyalty lies with the music of the 80s and 90s, or you’re accustomed to the new class, R&B as a genre will always have its supporters.

Pairing: Klaus x Fem!Reader

Summary: Klaus has been trying to convince the reader to be with him for years, but has always failed. At the end of one of Elijah's peace parties, Y/n finally gives in.
“For the lady…” Rebecca says with a smile, holding out my glass of wine for me.
“Thank you,” I say, taking the glass in my hand before refocusing my gaze on the dancefloor where the last few people are still keeping up with the silly beat of the current 60’s song. “You’d think they would have given up by now.” I say, laughing softly as I point down to where Hailey and Elijah are dancing, attempting to keep a somewhat respectable distance between them. Rebecca smiles and moves to rest her glass on the banister of the balcony.
“You’d also think he’d have officially made a move by now, but my big brother does things in his own little way.” She tells me, smiling still as her eyes linger for a sweet second on Marcel Gerard who is making quite the show of the way he’s twirling around his date, her dress shifting higher up her thigh with every turn. Rebecca scoffs softly, taking another large sip of her drink.
“He’s not the only one.” I say with a raised brow, her glass making a soft clinking noise against her ring when she grips onto her glass tighter, eyes drawn tight to show me she’s not exactly pleased with my statement.
“I don’t know what you’re implying, Y/N, but I’d remind you to think very carefully about what you’re going to say next,” She says and turns to face me, leaning forward to make sure I could hear her. “You may very well be my dearest friend and my brother may very well be completely smitten with you, but I’m not above kicking your ass.” She tells me and though her words would prompt a serious tone, I catch the little smile that slips onto her lips when our eyes meet.
“I have yet to see you try, Rebecca,” I offer in reply, laughing lightly as she shakes her head. “Besides,” I start, taking a sip of wine before handing her my glass. “I’d have to remind you that you’d be ruining your own clothing in the process.” I tell her as I move to do a slow twirl and she gasps softly, taking in the Audrey Hepburn inspired ensemble, the black dress and gloves being something that Rebecca had kept from her time spent in the actual decade. Her shock sinks into a small grin as she looks me over, eyes lingering on the pearl necklace we brought at a secondhand boutique last week.
“You look perfectly in place,” She tells me and nods towards the hallway behind us. “Maybe you could convince my brother to step out of his hole long enough to save you a dance.” She says and squeezes my arm softly as she passes by me, losing the glasses on her way down the stairs where she calmly clears the last few guest from the dancefloor and out the door, waving quickly as she closes the door of the ballroom behind her.
I smile, the music seeming louder somehow now that I’m alone in here and I find myself almost drifting down the stairs. I hum to myself, dancing towards the drink table. Swaying to the rhythm as I start pilling empty platters and used plates together.
“You missed the party,” I say softly, not stopping what I’m doing as I hear him still on the balcony above. “It was quite the turnout.” I add, stepping back from the table to look up at him, his lips tilting into a lopsided grin when he sees me.
“My apologies, love,” He shrugs eyes darkening as they slowly make their way from my lips downwards, lingering for a second on the pearls around my neck before slipping lower and lower, until he clears his throat softly, meeting my gaze in an instant. “I clearly had no idea what I’d be missing out on.” He tells me, voice low as he pulls a hand through his hair.
“Maybe you should come down here and get a better look.” I offer, tone matching his as I step back even more, slowly making my way to the dancefloor where he meets me in mere seconds, hands carefully resting on my waist as I move slowly to sway to the gentle melody, eyes glued to his as he lets out a soft breath.
“You are…” He starts, moving a hand to carefully take hold of mine. “Ravishing,” He whispers, the sound sending an almost electric shiver down my spine as he lifts my hand to his mouth where he places a delicate kiss to my palm, not once breaking eye contact. “Tell me..” He begins, using his teeth to carefully pull the glove away, holding my bare hand tightly in his own as he leads me into a dance. “Why won’t you be mine, Y/n?” He asks, holding me against him as he dips me backwards slowly, carefully turning us together before pulling me up to be but inches from his face. “Why won’t you let me love you?” He asks, keeping hold of my waist as he turns me around in his arms where he nimbly lifts my hand in the air, removing the other glove as he attentively traces the length of my arm until I can feel his skin against mine, the glove dropping soundlessly to the floor as I tilt my head to the side to see him.
“We’re dangerous together,” I tell him, carelessly letting him guide my hands to where he needs them and numbly allowing him to spin me out and then in before once again coming face to face with him. “We’d hurt each other,” I say, moving with him as we move one step forward and one step back, twirling and then repeating. “You’d hurt me.” I say, momentarily leaning back against him halfway through the twirl.
“I would never,” He offers and pauses as well, risking the loss of the rhythm to touch my cheek and gain my attention. “I could never.” He adds and I turn around in his hold.
“That’s what they always say,” I say and move my hands to his shoulders where I lead him into the same steps as earlier. “They always promise me forever,” He holds my waist delicately. “They never mean it.” I tell him, his eyes darkening as he tries to read my emotions.
“I am not them, my love,” His eyebrows knit together as he looks me over. “I will gladly give you forever and always and whatever comes after that. I love you. I burn for you,” He announces simply and I let out a shaky breath. “Can you truly say that you don’t feel the same? Tell me you don’t feel anything at all for me?” He asks, voice raw as he waits for a reply and I shake my head, dropping my hands to the side when he suddenly released me from his hold, looking to the sky as he shakes his head as well.
“Klaus,” I begin, pulling at the pearls to release the necklace from my neck, it along with the very obvious tension in the room making me feel like I’m suffocating. “I do feel the same. I feel everything and more, but it doesn’t change the fact that I can’t do this. I can’t possibly give you the power to hurt me.” I drop the pearls to the floor as I fold my arms around me, the playlist coming to an abrupt stop when the slow song ends.
“I understand,” He says after a moment, looking around the room, eyes scattering through the mess of dirty glasses and plates and coats that were left behind. “We should probably allow the staff to clean this place,” He tells me and forces a slight smile when our eyes meet. “Give me a moment to retrieve your things from upstairs and I’ll walk you home.”
“You don’t have to do that.” I say, guilt filling my heart as I see the hurt in his eyes that he couldn’t possibly hide from me even if he had attempted to do so.
“I know,” He says, picking up the fallen gloves and carefully handing them to me. “I want to.” He says, giving me a soft wink before walking up the stairs.
I let out a shaky breath as I pick up the pearls as well, folding them into the gloves to keep them safe and before my mind could even process the thought, I’m walking up the stairs, following the sound of his heartbeat that leads me to the room he spent the night in hiding away from the guests.
I use my foot to carefully push open the slightly ajar door, Klaus’s silhouette visible at the end of the room where he pushes handfuls of paintbrushes into cups of water as an overturned painting rests against the dresser.
“I couldn’t leave them uncleaned,” He informs me, my own heartbeat probably giving me away. “I got distracted downstairs is all, completely slipped my mind.”
“It’s okay,” I say and he looks at me quickly to nod before going back to his brushes and I walk to the center of the room, pulling at the string to turn on the light and get a better view of everything. “You were painting?” I ask, now noticing not just the one canvas, but a whole collection of them, all scattered and resting against multiple pieces of furniture.
“I felt remarkably inspired.” He comments shyly and I smile.
“By what?” I ask, mindfully reaching to turn around the largest of the canvases, the one I saw first and I can’t prevent the audible gasp that leaves my lips when I see the beautiful medley of colors that he’s somehow managed to create my face with.
“You.” He answers absentmindedly, shrugging slightly as he waves my coat and purse in the air to show me that he’s found it amongst everything in here. I smile, bending down to take it all in, every brushstroke and color, every piece of himself that he used to create every stroke of me.
“This is beautiful, Klaus.” I laugh softly, holding the hand with the gloves to my heart as a sudden rush of emotions run though me.
“The painting is only as beautiful as the muse who inspired it,” He comments simply, looking at me sweetly. “I don’t think I could ever verbally explain how much you mean to me, how much I care, how much you’ve changed me purely my existing. I don’t think I could ever completely fathom how remarkable you are and how extremely lucky I am that by some strange twist of faith I’ve been lucky enough to know you,” He laughs softly as well, smiling sheepishly as he catches my gaze. “I want to live my life with you, and I’d wait however long it takes for you to feel the same.”
“Forever?” I ask, standing up and placing the gloves onto the dresser beside me. He nods.
“And always.” He adds and I smile, the dreadful and fearful feeling in my stomach slowly dissolving.
“What about just one more minute?” I ask and he tilts his head, smiling as I slowly make my way towards him, pausing only for a second before cupping his face in mine. “Thirty seconds,” I say and he holds onto my arms. “Ten seconds,” I whisper, his forehead against mine. I breathe out slowly, nodding when our eyes meet, silently asking for permission before his lips delicately meet mine. My entire body filling with butterflies as he pulls away and I smile. “Let’s get married…” I say and his chest vibrates lightly as a happy laugh fills the air, pulling back slightly just to see me.
“Are you sure?” He asks carefully and I nod, pulling him closer to me again.
“I am yours, Niklaus Mikealson. Forever and always.”
“And whatever comes after that.”

Andrew (Andy) Stewart, one of Scotland’s best loved entertainers was born on December 30 1933 at Redlands Hospital for Women, Great Western Road, Glasgow.
Andy was born into a musical family. With both his mother and father playing violin and his sister Moira learning piano it seemed only natural that Andy would have musical ability. However even at this early age his vocal dexterity came to the fore as he found it far easier to impersonate an instrument such as a trumpet with his voice, than it was to actually learn to play it.
He moved to Arbroath as a child and then trained as an actor at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama in Glasgow. He had several hit singles - “Come in-Come in”, “Donald where’s yer troosers?”, “A Scottish Soldier” (36 weeks in the chart in 1961), “Campbeltown Loch”, “The Muckin’ O’ Geordie’s Byre”, “Tunes of Glory”, and “Dr. Finlay”.
Andy is also remembered for being the compere of “The White Heather Club”. This was a BBC television programme that existed as an annual New Year’s Eve party and also as a weekly early evening series from the mid 50’s to the late 60’s.
“Donald Where’s Yer Troosers?” was a hit in 1961 and again in 1989. Andy does an Elvis impersonation half way through the song. On the strength of this comedy hit, Andy toured Australia and appeared on the Ed Sullivan show in 1968, doing impersonations of Dean Martin.
In retirement he moved back to Arbroath and died there in 1993. Before he died he did a small concert at Arbroath High School (which he had attended) for the pupils. A sheltered housing scheme in Arbroath, ‘Andy Stewart Court’, was named in his memory.
Stewart’s son Ewan Stewart is an actor, whose film credits include Rob Roy and Titanic. Andy’s grandson Harrison Beattie played the title role of Billy Elliot in the West End stage show of the popular film, another talented laddie.

Random Facts: The Soundtrack was released in July of 1987, shortly after the release of the film. The soundtrack was hand selected almost entirely by the movie's writer, Eleanor Bergstein, during the writing process. Despite troubles with licensing, she insisted the soundtrack remain as that of her vision. And boy, did it pay off. It went on to sell 32 million copies, and has become one of the best-selling soundtrack albums of all time, just under that of The Bodyguard, 1992, And Saturday Night Fever, 1977. Note to self: only release things in the decades that end with 7. There were a couple of songs, however, that were picked during filming after concerns with wether or not they would be able to obtain the rights to certain songs. One of them being "She's Like The Wind" A single written and sung by Patrick Swayze, who plays the iconic lover-boy Johnny Castle in the film. The song was suggested by Patrick after hearing that they were looking for new music to put in the film, and they loved it! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The next might be a surprise, The final song and track that would ultimately become synonymous with the film itself, "(I've Had) The Time Of My Life" by Bill Medley and Jennifer Warnes. After going through hundreds of tapes the night before filming, searching for the big finale song, choreographers Kenny Ortega and Miranda Garrison (who also played Vivian in the film) decided to listen to one last tape, and you can probably take a guess at what that tape was. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Also, as an extra note, the final cut of the soundtrack that was sold doesn't actually include every song that appears in the film, they left out incredible songs like "Do You Love Me?" by The Contours, one of my favorite 60's songs of all time, "Big Girls Don't Cry" by Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons, "Love Man" and "These Arms of Mine" by Otis Redding, and "Cry to Me" by Solomon Burke, just to name a handful. Nooo such short tracks! 😭
Oooooh I’m Gonna Love You really stood out to me on the highlight medley, and it’s living up to the expectations! I love the rhythm in the melody, and Kyungsoo and Wonstein sound great together, and that *chorus*! But damn it ends so abruptly!
Ohhh…My Love is such a smooth listen, and Ksoo is really showing off his vocal agility in this one. This one feels the most like it could have been an exo group track, despite its length, but I’m *so* happy it’s Kyungsoo’s; the tone is near perfect for him. 😭
It’s Love, YES, at last, a song longer than 3 minutes! Yeees OMG I’m LOVING this! He sounds so beautiful on this one, and his tone is so resonant yet gentle! This one is lovely, it puts me in mind of the old ballads from the 60’s and 70’s that I love, but yet there’s still an r&b flavor to it?
Dad has kind of a slow-building feel to it, yet for so much of it ksoo stays up in that higher register, so it really does feel like a child talking to their father, and omg he’s got so much vulnerability and emotion in his voice here, it’s beautiful!
Ohhh wow, I *love* how he’s singing on I’m Fine!!! I love that he’s staying a little deeper on it, and it feels so much like a story told through music. It’s so warm, but almost a little haunting?
Si Fueras Mia 😭 I can’t say anything to his pronunciation, but holy shit to my ignorant ears he sounds perfect! I’m so glad the Spanish version was for the longest song on the album, because Kyungsoo singing in it again is such a pleasure. ❤️
Rose in English, omg 😂🤣😂🤣 AHH! He just swore in English again, why does that get me??? !!! This is so funny, this version is more…mischievous, even silly, compared to the Korean version? Like the mv is funny, but the lyrics are quite romantic. You can *tell* Kyungsoo wrote the Korean version; it’s so earnest and sweet, and the English version feels very Justin Bieber. I’m having a hard time *not* laughing. Like he sounds beautiful, obviously, but omg these lyrics are really tickling me this first listen.
Overall, the instrumentals and his tone make for a truly lovely debut, and I’m so happy and proud of him, but holy hell this listen was over too fast. 😞 I could sit and listen to Kyungsoo sing for hours, and the mini didn’t even clock half of one. 😢 Damn you sm. And what’s sadder is I know it’s an acoustic album, but it still has a smooth R&B sound that permeates all the tracks, so it’s still got elements of his signature sound. And that may just be the nature of Kyungsoo’s singing, but it makes for such a warm, soothing mini, and there’s just too little of it. 😔 Since Kyungsoo himself asked for favorites, I’m gonna say *for now* it’s a toss up between I’m Gonna Love You and It’s Love. (Realize he asked for just ONE favorite but be reasonable sweetie.)
And again, I know he started guitar lessons, so if he ends up playing any of these live at some point, whether it’s a concert or a busking or even a vlive snippet I think I’ll cry.

Fossil fighters representation in Smash.
Hey I'd like to share my ideas on Fossil Fighters Repentantion in Smash Starting with the Fighter, Hunter Himself.
Attributes:
With Hunter's child body, Hunter would be around the same weight as Young Link and would have the standard 2 jumps. Below average damage out put and low knock back attacks except for his specials
Gimmicks: FP, Vivisaur swap.
By pressing Down Special, Hunter will gain FP depending on how long you stand in your charging position. If you get hit at any point you will earn half FP, you will also earn half FP if you jump or shield at any point during the charge. To earn your full FP, simply hold down Special for 2 seconds. The max is 500 FP. Hunter will have a Shield Special. In this special he will be able to swap Vivisaurs and change his Special moves on the fly. Neutral Special will be represented by the AZ, the side Special will be represented by the left SZ Vivisaur and up Special will be represented by the right SZ Vivisaur. Now on to the longest part of the post.
Specials.
Hunter will have a menu system, similar to Hero. Holding down the special the button will make the Vivisaur stand there until you press the button again. The Vivisaur will stay summoned for 5 seconds. This means you can Combo into special attacks if used correctly.
Special 1: Spinax.
Spinax Fang: cost 50 FP.
Spinax shove: cost 100 FP.
Cyclone: cost: 220 FP.
Harden: Cost: 50 FP. Effect: decrease how much % Hunter receives and increases his weight by 1.2 ×
Special 2 Tricera.
Running Smash: cost: 50. Holding the button after move is executed will have Hunter ride Tricera.
Tricera uppercut: cost: 80 FP
Tricera dive bomb: cost 120 FP.
Enflame: cost 50 FP. Effect: Hunter's damage and knock back increase 1.1 ×
Special 3. Ptera.
Ptera Carry: cost 50 FP.
Prera summon: cost. 70 fp. Effect: causes opponents to instantly go near wherever Hunter is but the Opponent loses their shield for 15 seconds.
Ptera send off: cost all FP. Effect: Ptera will carry the opponent to the top of the screen for a KO. The more FP you have when you use this skill, the harder it'll be to mash out. For example if you use this skill at low FP it'll be easy to escape even at high percents and if you use it at high FP, it'll be hard to escape even at low percent.
Special 4. Krona.
Krona Bite: cost 100: FP. Holding the special button will have Hunter Ride Krona
Snapping jaws: Cost: 200 FP. Holding down the button will cause Hunter to ride Krona
Whirlpool: cost: 300 FP.
Law of the Jungle: cost 50 FP. Effect: Hunter will be at 100 % in exchange, Hunter's attacks will be amplified by the amount of percent you use this attack at. For example if you use this attack at zero % you get a 2 × increase to knock back and damage but use it at 50 %, Hunter will only receive a 1.5 × boost to his offenses. This skill's amplification will be increased as Hunter loses stocks, so at 0 % at one stock lost, Hunter will gain 3 × offenses and at 2 stocks lost, he will gain 4 × offenses. This move cannot be used to heal Hunter.
Special 5. Paraloph.
Fist Jab Cost 100 FP
Dino Uppercut. Cost 150 FP
Paraloph Rush. Cost 220 fp
Special 6. Stego.
Spike tail. Cost 50 FP
Whirling Dash 100 cost FP
Wind Spines cost 150 fp.
Harden cost 50 FP.
Special 7. T-Rex.
Tyrant's Roar cost 100 FP. AoE move
Tyrant's tail. Cost 150 FP.

Hunter will have 2 grabs the standard grab and Kl33-N by holding Grab. Hunter can use Kl33-n as long as he has FP and Kl33-n can only go on stage, so no off stage grabs. Final Smash ideas.
Idea #1. Giga hammer: Hunter will pull out the control panel that Kl33-N stands in front of and Hunter will have 30 seconds to hammer his opponent. Any opponent above 60 will result in a screen K.O.
Idea #2. Giga Spinax. Hunter will charge into the opponent and summon Giga Spinax.
Idea #3. Team attack: whenever you have 3 Vivisaurs of the same type, your AZ Vivisaur will charge into the opponent and and blast them with their team skills.
Idea #4. Frigi and Igno: Hunter will charge into the opponent and summon Frigi and Igno. Frigi will freeze the opponent and Igno will use all 3 of his attacks and fry the opponent it by Hunter throwing the opponent on Igno.

Depending on if there's water in the stage, he will depart of a boat, otherwise he Ptera will carry him in the battlefield.
Stage idea.
Dig Site Tour.
You will start out in the Fighter Area, and after 10 seconds you will board a platform and you will go to GreenHorn Plains and after another 10 seconds, you will go to the Knotwood Forest and so on and so forth. The last digsite is Coldfeet Glacier. The battlefield version of the stage will take place in the Fossil Stadium and the FD Version will take place on the Starship.
