Pre-2011 saw music-lovers, theatre-enthusiasts and sport-goers ripped off by resale prices in the secondary ticket market. The resale industry was unsympathetic to fans that cancelled their plans due to unforeseen circumstances but did not want their ticket going to waste.

It meant empty seats in shows that were supposedly “sold out”. However, this left a gap in the market for an ethical fan-to-fan ticket resale service, and Mr Davies delivered.

Initially using twitter to connect fans, his idea was to resell tickets at face value or less; within two years, Twickets resold 45,000 spare tickets.

A movement had begun and was quickly gathering momentum. With the introduction of an easy to navigate website, locating events became simpler; be it sport, music, or theatre and arts, the internal search engine allows the user to find specific events by name, date, and location.

With the added features of a Live Ticket Stream and allowing users to set up alerts that ping straight to their phone, Twickets continued to grow and new partnerships forged with influential artists and companies like Spice Girls and Gigs and Tours.

Twickets has forced a change in the industry despite rivals adopting similar models like a dynamic pricing program. Twickets still remain the only service that can resell any ticket to any event, anywhere.

Fan-to-fan interaction is encouraged through Twitter with prompts for friendly, nostalgic conversation while updating them on the latest available tickets or to draw attention to those pesky touts.

Their frequent informative blog keeps the fans in the know with current developments and new partnerships and has resulted in Twickets seeing over 300k tickets listed in Q2 this year.

The “Events Near You” feature - available on their app and website - promotes last-minute tickets in the user’s immediate vicinity. Also, the buyer can “Make an Offer” on the original selling price, preventing tickets from going to waste.

Twickets reached three million new users in 2019 and ticketed over 25,000 events, with over 60% of their transactions made within the last week before a show takes place.

I'm so proud of this. It's got 6 (six) POCKETS!!! I'm going to get well more than $30 worth because coincidentally, it's 48% modal, one of my favourite fabrics, it's incredibly comfortable, and just lovely! I'll be sure to make it a staple in my wardrobe.

And! I was low on my favourite underwear, which I said aloud today, and underwear is something we'll always use. I personally keep all comfortable ones for over a year minimum. I think that's normal? So I browsed target, and spent $12.61 on 5!!!! FIVE pairs of underwear, and saline solution so I can care for my stretched (not fully) ears. that was $8. I'm really enjoying investing in things that will serve me for months/years to come and enhancing my habitual, consistent hygiene and self care routines. Not to say self care can be bought, but ease based items surely can.

True, Americans love cars. But it's equally true that they love seeing them crash. Gone in 60 Seconds is the fulfillment of stunt driver H.B. "Toby" Halicki's dream: to make a movie with the wildest, most destructive car chase in film history. At that he succeeds, with a 40-minute scene in which a yellow 1973 Ford Mustang called Eleanor takes on all comers, leaving 93 automobiles in ruins. Eleanor is the true star of the film, as Halicki realizes: She's the only performer mentioned in the opening credits. The remaining hour or so of the film is just setup, although an additional 32 cars get wrecked in some fashion before the big chase. Halicki plays Maindrian Pace, an insurance investigator with a sideline: He and his crew steal cars and resell them after disguising the stolen cars with identification numbers and license plates taken from similar models they buy from junkyards. (As an upright insurance man, he insists that all the stolen cars be insured.) When he gets a big order from a Venezuelan drug lord for 48 vehicles of all sorts, he and his gang set out to procure them. Each car is given a woman's name as a way of keeping track of them. There are a few hiccups: Nancy, a Cadillac Eldorado, is discovered to have a trunk full of heroin; Maindrian insists that she has to be destroyed, which angers his brother-in-law, Eugene (Jerry Daugirda), who wants to sell the drugs. Eleanor is also a problem: At the very last minute before he's supposed to deliver the cars, Maindrian discovers that she's uninsured, which goes against his rule. Fortunately, he knows where another Eleanor can be stolen, which further angers Eugene, who rats out Maindrian to the cops, giving them the location where Maindrian is going to steal her. When he's discovered, Maindrian takes off in the new Eleanor, leading a flotilla of cop cars from various Southern California towns and cities into the film's autopocalypse. The remarkable thing about the great chase is that Halicki was able to get cooperation from various authorities, ranging from the California Highway Patrol to the mayors and city councils of the towns through which it runs. The story of how the movie was made is in some ways more interesting than the movie itself. Halicki, driving Eleanor, was seriously injured in one scene and had to shut down filming for three weeks. (Fifteen years later, Halicki was killed in an accident while making a sequel to the movie.) Much of Gone in 60 Seconds is tedious setup exposition, and it's poorly acted -- the cast largely consists of Halicki's friends and family -- but those 40 minutes are golden, a tribute to Halicki's persistence and especially to his cameramen, stunt drivers, and film editors.
