What Kind of Reader Are You?
In this class, you are going to read many things. Your first assignment is called the Free Choice Blog, where you will record responses to your reading.
As always, start with something you would like to read. This can be a book, a magazine, a newspaper—anything! Remember that you will need to choose something new to read throughout the course when you reach the end of whatever you selected first.
But before you create your blog, you need to decide what you want to read!
Take this quiz to see what kind of reader you are. Choose the best answers for you. If you don't think any of the answers apply, then choose the closest option.
When you are done, compare your results with what you have thought about your reading habits in the past. Do you agree with the quiz?

Football Bet of the Day: Back EAG and ASSE to land BTTS bet

Football Bet of the Day: Back EAG and ASSE to land BTTS bet Please share.
After a frustrating setback, Kev’s hoping to bounce back in France.
In-form sides to make an impactGuingamp v St EtienneSaturday 12 January, 19:00Our perfect start to 2019 is at an end, and in frustrating circumstances. Benfica won 2-0 at Santa Clara last night, and looked as though they had landed our Over 2.5 Goals bet, only for a superbly taken third goal to be ruled out after the use of VAR.We’ll head to France now for some Saturday night action, because high-flying St Etienne are away to relegation-threatened Guingamp, who secured a stunning Coupe de la Ligue victory at PSG in midweek.Since coach Jocelyn Gourvennec returned to Guingamp for a second spell (having won the Coupe de France in his first in 2014), there has been a definite upturn in results. A crucial victory at fellow strugglers Monaco boosted their survival bid, they made progress in the Coupe de France by winning at lower-league Stade Pontivy, and they’ll remember their victory at the Parc des Princes for years to come. A PSG team that included Neymar (who scored the opener), Kylian Mbappe and Thiago Silva was felled by two Guingamp goals in the last nine minutes. It was a seismic shock, and a huge confidence boost for EAG.St Etienne are just two points off the top three, and are having a strong campaign under Jean-Louis Gasset. They are suffering a bit on their travels though – they haven’t won on the road since the last week of September, and that 3-2 success at Toulouse is their only road win in Ligue 1 in the last ten attempts.There are two ways we can go here. There’s a strong temptation to back resurgent Guingamp on the Draw No Bet market at [2.08], but I’m actually going to plump for Both Teams To Score at [1.89]. Guingamp have scored in seven of their last nine games, while St Etienne have scored in 14 of their last 15 outings in all competitions.

@ Atlanta Dream 5/26/18
Tumblr media
Team Keys:
Offense: Ball movement and patience to find the right shot
Defense: Team defense with communication and good rotations
Game Breakdown:
Within the 1st minute of the game, Liz Cambage picks up 2 chippy fouls. So Breanna Lewis comes in for her. In the mean time, Dallas’ first points come from a Skylar Diggins-Smith steal and a wonderful run by Allisha Gray. Atlanta will answer with a pair of free-throws from the 2nd Liz foul and the score is tied 2-2.The Dream score 2 back to back giving them a 6-2 lead. Allisha goes coast to coast from a rebound she grabs on Atlanta’s end. She misses it but Breanna cleans it up and gets the And1. Atlanta comes back quickly to score and then a Skylar 3 ties them at 8. Both teams will trade the next few baskets and Dallas would take the lead at 14-12. Dallas would then end the 1st quarter with the lead 19-15. Liz comes back and scores the 1st Dallas points of the quarter to make their lead 21-15.The Wings would continue to go on a 6-0 run before the Dream answer. After an 11-2 run by Dallas, the Dream seem to wake up and get 8 fast points including back to back 3s by Rene Montgomery to bring them back within 5points. That doesn’t last long as the Wings would then go on a 8-0 run. The 1st half ends 39-31 Dallas, as tensions start to rise and the game starts to get more and more physical. The 2nd half opens up with Atlanta putting some defensive pressure on Dallas that ends in a turnover. The Dream capitalize on that and score on the other end but the Wings answer with a Kayla Thornton 3 on their end. The Dream are really fighting to stay close in this game but Dallas keeps answering their play. Brittney Sykes makes 3 huge blocks against the Wings and makes a huge 3 pointer to bring Atlanta within 2. Dallas has sped up their offense and turned the ball over giving the Dream this momentum. Skylar will answer the call to take the game back and put the Wings back up by 6. Atlanta is not going away but the 3rd quarter ends with a monster Liz block. She stuffed it back in Brittney Sykes’ face as she attempted to drive to the hoop. The Wings still hold the lead 56-52. The first points for Dallas in the 4th quarter come again from Liz. She is double teamed in the post and splits the post going to the basket and gets an And1. Atlanta responds and pulls within 3, score is 60-57 Dallas. There is a lot of sloppy play  by the Wings forced by the Dream’s defense which hinders Dallas from getting a handle on this game and a larger more comfortable lead. Finally, the Wings get some good ball movement on offense and Skylar hits a 3! The score is 63-57. The Dream keep coming but Dallas isn’t letting up. Liz  makes 3 big plays. Two on offense- she splits the double team again in another acrobatic move. One on defense- she blocks yet another Atlanta shot. And then A Kayla Thornton 3 off of good ball movement that gives the Wings a 9 point lead. Dallas continues to make big plays
After Game Thoughts:
This was a good physical game. It was good to see the Wings focus and get a win on the road early in the season. They didn’t seem to take for granted that they blew this team out a week ago. The Team Keys are still going to be a huge focus. At times they did a great job but there were still some forced touches that led to turnovers and then some missed rotations that Atlanta just wasn’t able to capitalize on. Also, there were way too many turnovers (24). Dallas needs to be careful with that or other teams will do a better job of capitalizing on their mistakes. However, Dallas did out play Atlanta in almost every stat category. Specifically speaking, rebounds. They are still doing a great job of rebounding, even without their star rebounder, Glory Johnson. It’s really good that their mission stays consistent even in injuries. Also, their run and gun game made a few appearances tonight, a few even included Liz. I’m glad to see that coming back to them as it did help them in this game.
Overall, hard fought win for the Wings. Glad that they could stay focused through Atlanta’s physicality and their runs to take the lead to continue to play and win this game. It shows a bit of maturity in this young team. Hopefully that will continue to grow.
Record: 2-2
Rank: 7

Assignment 2 -- Part 3
Storyboard
As my game isn't really story driven, Ive decided to show ‘how game mechanics work in conjunction with the characters and game environment.’
The mechanics weren't to difficult to explain, and I believe I have portray them adequately in this storyboard.
One aspect of the game that isn't explained however is the scoring system. I’ve never attempted a scoring system before, yet within my research I found the scoring mechanics of ‘Space Invaders’ and thought highly of it. The bottom 2 rows of invades score 10 points per large invader, the middle 2 rows scored you 20 points per medium invader and the top row scored you 30 points per invader.
How I have based my in game scoring mechanic off this, is through making each enemy space ship worth a different amount.
SH.e11 = 5points
CH.e11 = 10points
SH.N.e11 = 20points
Br.NK.e11 = 30points
N33.DL = 40points
0.1LUS = 60points
I have thoroughly enjoyed designing this game and although I haven't added colour into it, I believe it has the potential to carry some nice visuals and enjoyable content. I also found it illuminating to create a storyboard with how the game mechanics work, for it is hard to explain using words and allows you to simplistically capture the action of the game. I would like to continue the production of the game in the future, adding things like colour, additional weapons to enhance game appeal, and being a simple level layout.
