100+ BOOKS I REMEMBER READING 1, 2, 3, 3.5 , 4, 4.5 , 5 , 6 , 7 [8 Little Dorrit by Charles Dickens]
I think I must have read this the summer out of high school. It was probably the longest book I’d read at the time. It took a while for me to get into it and then I was hooked.
I remember loving the descriptions of Italy and being creeped out by the people I should have been creeped out by.
Trigger warnings for suicide and manipulation and blackmail I guess. I can’t remember anything else significant.
The plot is about Amy Dorrit a young girl who was born in the Marshalsea Prison and so who’s lived there all her life because of her father’s debts. She (practically) singlehandedly provides for her family financially and seems to be the only reasonable member of her family of four (father, brother, sister and herself).
In providing for her family she meets several people who change the trajectory of her and her family’s life forever.
It’s a gripping story with lots of interesting characters. I definitely enjoyed it; it’s one of my favourite stories even though it’s not quite fairytale-y or happy ending-y. But I like it despite that (which is unusual for me). However, I don’t know that I’d reread it. Maybe if I had a big chunk of free time.

Something to look out for when you’re doing your grammar proofread. Ctrl+F your document for “would”, “should”, and “could” separately to make sure there are no stray “of’s” lying around after them.
It’s a mistake I’ve seen a lot on Wattpad and one I’ve caught myself making because I usually say my sentence aloud in my head before I type it and “of” and “-ve”, the contraction version of “have”, sound so similar when being spoken.
Tl;dr
Writing Tip: Make sure you write Would’ve/ Would Have instead of Would Of
