"You're spoiling him worse than his grandparents," Eddie says, amusement colouring his voice. (There's something else, too, besides amusement, that Buck can't quite put his finger on.)
Buck shrugs. "He deserves to be spoiled. He's a great kid, Eddie."
Okay, so maybe he went a little bit overboard this year, when he decided to get Chris a particularly expensive (read: holy shit why would it cost so much? what does it do, show you where the aliens are?) telescope he'd been whining about wanting for the past few months, that Eddie had said he'd think about maybe getting for him for his birthday next year. Maybe.
Still, he regrets nothing. Not when the reward was Christopher's blinding smile and obvious, sheer happiness when he woke up on Christmas day and came into the Diaz household living room to check for presents. He and Eddie had woken up early (Buck having spent the night, though his back didn't thank him, as comfortable as Eddie's couch might usually be, because damn if he was going to miss Chris' reaction), and were having coffee and talking quietly when Chris had come out of his room, calling out for them.
Eddie had sighed. Had shaken his head. Had smiled that one particular smile Buck is still trying to decipher. And between that and Christopher's absolute glee (and the hugs, because there were many), Buck had felt warmer, more content and more at home, than ever in his life.
"If I become the bad parent in his eyes," Eddie says now with a pointed look over his coffee cup. Buck startles, but before he can say anything, Eddie continues, "I'm making you suffer through all the parent-teacher nights on your own, Buckley. I'm not even kidding."
Buck blinks. Swallows down the knot that forms in his throat. "Eddie-"
"Finish your coffee," Eddie cuts him off before Buck does something embarrassing like maybe start crying. "We're out the door in ten."

1. Hp baru buat mamah
2. Bantu bayarin sekolah+mondok adek
3. Nabung buat umroh sekeluarga
4. Selebihnya kalau bisa bantu2 buat menuhin kebutuhan 'pokok' mamah bapak di rumah
Saya mau mamah bapak ga kesulitan dalam ekonomi, tapi juga ga akan ngelarang mereka bekerja dan melakukan aktivitas yang mereka biasa lakukan. Karena saya tau, ga ngapa-ngapain itu jauh lebih capek dibanding melakukan banyak hal.
