Gosh this is probably my favorite 1p2p ship. Okay...Okay headcanons!

Okay so in case you didn’t see how the the 2ps meet the 1ps in my veggie burger post, basically the 1p and 2p worlds collide and I would like to think Arthur may have been the cause (messing with magic and all that), but Arthur does not want to reveal this to anyone because that is kind of a huge mess up

Instead, he decides to take on fixing things and he tries to do it alone because of how guilty he feels. He even pushes Dylan away when he offers to help. But there is one person who he can’t seem to shake: Oliver

Like I mentioned in my vb post, the 2ps’s homes were lost in the merging of worlds and thus most moved in with their counterpart meaning Oliver has moved in with Arthur

Oliver starts off by cooking for Arthur and his brothers and making sure Arthur eats, drinks and takes breaks. Then he weasels his way in, offering some advice based on Arthur’s findings and soon enough they’re brainstorming stuff together

Through these long hours of studying well into the night, conversations during breaks over tea, etc. the two become very close. Arthur isn’t used to people being this caring towards him. The closest he got to that was Dylan and even then, Oliver pushs back far more than Dylan, not accepting any of Arthur’s attempts to brush him off. Similarly, Oliver hasn’t had anyone care in the way Arthur does. Arthur is a little prickly about it, but Oliver can tell Arthur worries about Oliver giving too much of himself to others and not putting himself first when he needs to. In short, both are in desperate need of self-care, but they make sure each other takes time for themselves and they fall for each other because of it.

Arthur tries to deny his feelings and Oliver doesn’t bring it up because there are more important things to focus on, plus at the rate they’re going the two of them will be separated so both think they could never pursue a relationship.

Then one morning they wake up cuddled up to each other and there is no denying it anymore. Oliver confesses, followed by Arthur and they are left with the crushing weight that they are just on the edge of figuring everything out and separating the worlds once more.

They carry on though the mood is much more somber, the complete opposite of the fun, exciting mood they had had before

They end up figuring it out, but they leave it for a little while, not quite ready to say goodbye. They decide to go out together for a nice dinner to celebrate and agree to fix everything the next day

They are on the couch together, Oliver leans against Arthur and suggests they keep the worlds merged. Arthur’s guilt returns and refuses. He feels that would be selfish. They get into a bit of an argument and Oliver decides to go to bed, but asks Arthur to at least consider keeping things as is

As soon as Oliver leaves, Arthur goes into the basement, determined to separate the worlds again. Just as he’s coming to the end of the incantation, Oliver bursts in, begging him to not go through with it saying that they’re all happier here. He even admits that he knows Arthur was the one to merge the worlds and that he understands that Arthur is probably guilty. But this mistake turned out to be wonderful for having brought the two together. Why change everything when no one is hurt and if anything their lives are slightly better because of all of this. Before Arthur can say anything there is an explosion for the spell has been halted for far too long.

When Arthur comes to, he's in Oliver’s arms who is crying. Arthur panics, but Oliver explains he’s just happy that they can now stay together. The spell to fix everything was destroyed, finally getting Arthur to accept that maybe fate wanted everything to be this way.

Oliver asks if he can kiss Arthur and Arthur, a little shocked at how fast everything seems to be going, agrees

Now for some general headcanons:

Oliver is so easy to talk to. Arthur swears Oliver has some sort of charm or magic on him that just makes everyone who talks to Oliver honest about what they’re saying

They’re t4t both trans men (ftm)

Cooking/food is Oliver’s love language while handmade gifts are Arthur’s (though Arthur will also bake Oliver sweets all the time because Oliver has an even worse sweet tooth than Arthur)

They really like Good Omens with Arthur constantly saying Oliver and Aziraphale are the same person. If Arthur is in a really sappy mood he’ll call Oliver ‘Angel’ like how Crowly does with Aziraphale (it never fails to make Oliver blush). Also, they have dressed up as Crowly and Aziraphale for Halloween

They also like Our Flag Means Death

Oliver really likes hugs, especially giving them. Randomly he’ll just walk up behind Arthur and just wrap his arms around him. They’re so gentle and warm leaving very little desire for Arthur to complain

Whenever Arthur works on his garden, he’ll bring in a few flowers for Oliver. Oliver will combine them into a bouquet and put it on the kitchen table.

Both are cuddly though Oliver is more honest about it while Arthur likes to keep most of their cuddling in private/ will say he’s only doing it for Ollie when they’re in public

They now have two sets of siblings pestering them about their relationship. Oliver thinks it’s funny while Arthur often gets riled up. Luckily Oliver has mastered calming Arthur down.

Overall they’re very sweet. Though opposite in most ways, they both have some similar core traits that come out slightly different. They are both stubborn, both don’t think about themselves and exhaust themselves because of it, they are both very protective of who they love, etc. In that sense they have a good understanding of each other and are also able to pick up on their own flaws and work towards improving themselves together.

Fun fact: My characterization of Oliver is heavily inspired by Aziraphale from Good Omens so of course I had to incorporate that into my headcanons lol.
