Consumption Blog: Day 1

Hello the internet! I’m a college kid making a blog for class. I won’t bore you with the details, but basically for the next thirty days I’ll be giving a fairly in depth peek into my consumption patterns! We’re talkin food, music, memes (probably?), you name it. So here we go! Yall will probably notice a pattern emerge fairly quickly as we go here. When I first wake up, the first thing I do is pop in some music and just hang out for a bit while I remember how to walk. You know how it is, standard human behavior. Anyways. I got up and started listening to Ceinture Noire (transcendance), an album by french artist Maître Gims. Note: I listen to a lot of french music. Not sure why, it kinda evolved from my french class in high school, and now half of my music consumption is French artists. So after I felt like I wouldn’t fall over, I got up and made myself a sandwich. Let’s talk specifics. I come from a family of fairly devout Costco adherents (a little less so since the pandemic, but we manage), so the bread I used are those square rolls that come kinda presplit except for that weird connected crease thing in the middle? You know?? Well I toasted the bread intending to make some toast, but realized that we’re out of cream cheese (what good is toast without cream cheese??), so when it got out of the toaster over we slapped some pre-sliced cheddar from target and sliced lunchmeat (turkey from target as well I believe?) on that, picked up a banana, and called it breakfast. By this point I had probably switched up the music, perhaps listening to some Vitaa? I’ll keep better track over the next little bit! Regardless, next on the agenda was scoolwork. I dunno if education counts as consumption..? I’ll keep the details light and figure that out for my next entry, but long story short I wedged some marshmallows between some bananas and swooshed them together to mimic the spacing between letters (graphic design bayBEE), so if that counts as consuming marshmallows? I didn’t eat them; I’m actually not a fan of plain marshmallows, but I used them (I’ll get to that later this post) and then threw them in a bin (I’ll get to that later this week... stay tuned). Now, I switched to watching one of my close friends as he streamed some minecraft! I don’t generally watch too much Twitch, but I try to pop in to say hi to friends if I notice them doin things. We joked around a bit, and I got back to work.New question: does using a fidget count as consumption? Cause I definitely did that: I have a weird rubix pyramid thing that makes a REALLY satisfying clicking noise! Oh god and I have some yellow Playdoh- but I digress.For lunch I made more sandwiches, this time for both my sibling and I. I offered to make them after I got out of the shower, and when I got out they had thoughtfully arranged the marshmallows (which were square shaped, for whatever forsaken reason) into the message “u suck”. So, naturally, I (in marshmallow) spelled out “no u”, and then made some sandwiches. These sandwiches were the same as this morning, with an important difference: I added eggs. As you will soon learn, I LOVE eggs. I eat a lot of them. Nearly every day, I have some kind of dish with eggs. So these eggs I fried up on the stovetop, and slotted them onto the lovely toasted sandwiches (one for my sibling, one for me) and then topped the egg with some pepper and a greek seasoning mix that I often use to replace salt before slamming on the roof of the sandwich and pouring us each some water. I don’t generally have soda or juice that frequently, as you’ll probably see over the next thirty days (woah, that’s a lot. buckle up everyone...). After this I put in some more music! You’re probably noticing a trend; I almost always have music playing if I’m not interacting with someone else. I have Tinnitus, which for those of you who don’t know is a constant ringing in your ears. It’s not too loud, but it’s unsettling in the quiet, so I just plug in some music and jam! Anyways. I remember that I put in some english music for the first time today, listening to some Dessa. Then, I did a bunch more school work.Later on in the evening, my dad prepared some food! Yeah, I still live with my parents, because despite duping the government into thinking I’m a good investment, college is STILL expensive! But back to my consumption. My dad made some a m a z i n g beans and rice, which we slapped on tortillas with Romaine lettuce, shredded cheddar cheese and homemade green salsa (which included cilantro, green peppers, onions, and... I dunno other delicious things, I’ll figure that out later too. After that, the family settled in to watch a corny zombie movie, which I shirked in favor of gaming with a friend. I still feel kinda bad for that, but I had promised that I’d hop on to game immediately before dinner, so i was torn. Ultimately I left the couch and the zombie movie behind, and played some Overwatch with a friend. While I used to play it pretty frequently, I haven’t played that much in the past year, but in the last month or two this friend in particular began learning the game, so we’ve been playing together. Besides that... more music I guess. I’ll get more into music in later posts, when I don’t have as many things to discuss. OH also I had some strawberry flavored Altoids (they’re surprisingly good, ok??). And as I’m writing this, I’m about to retire to bed and read some webcomics before bed. This is also kinda a ritual for me: I have a bunch of comics that I keep up with on Webtoon. Mostly comedic comics, but also some fantasy. I love me some fantasy! And that’s about it for my consumption blog for the day. I’ll try to post earlier in the day from this point forward (posting at 1AM is a bad trend probably, right?), so... I dunno, won’t that be great? Welp at this point I’m just kinda screaming into the void, but I’ll be here doing it again tomorrow... and the day after that... for thirty days. So here we go! This is me, signing off. Don’t swallow any cubes while I’m gone.
