The Glasse home was abuzz with excitement. Both of the children had birthdays and so the servants and Olive were all rushing to try and make sure the home was clean enough for the children's godparents - the king and queen - to come to visit.
Of course, this led to a lot of stress. Olive could barely think straight - let alone make good decisions. She was keeping a smile on her face to play with her children during the day, but in her mind, she was screaming.
In order to try and get her thoughts in order, Olive has gotten close to Adelinne, Upton's warhorse. She had stablehands to take care of the mare, but she shooed them and promised that it was easing her mind.
They tried to argue with her. After all, it was record heat and she was a woman of fragile health! But she would hear nothing of it.
As she finished up tending to the horse, the heat was starting to get to her. She could barely breathe - she frequently felt faint, but she was usually inside with her servants when it happened.
This time, she was alone. She tried to step towards the house, but her knees buckled. She tried to call out for someone, but her voice came out as a mere squeak. She collapsed to the ground and the world went black.
At the same time, Camilla was sent outside to fetch her mother. There were party plans that she had to decide on - and they were trying to kick Monarch (Camilla's trusted pup) out of the house!
"Mama, are you ready to ----?"
"MAMA?!"

A holy man in Windenberg's monastery, Walter of Guisborough, has finished a book called Chronica. It is a history of Windenberg from the year 1066 leading up until present day.
Many have praised his work, but none higher than the king - who has acclaimed that he will make it required reading in his son and heir's education.
The book is being held in Windenberg's monastery - the Mouths of the Watcher invite any soul who wishes to read it or have it read to them to visit and for a small donation, you can hear about the nation's history!
(it will also be held in the royal archives.)

Isabel has proven herself to be quite the little morning sim. She sleeps easier throughout the night - especially since Joan seems to want to be in someone's arms at all time and will wake up screaming if she is placed in her cradle - but she wakes up before the sun and expects to be entertained.
Everyone was up before the dawn on this day, though, because it was the day of the twins' christening! They decided to have a small gathering with just the religious folks - among them being the front-runner for pope while he is still in Windenberg - and the godparents.
Among the godparents were the king and queen. The Despensers are good... friends... with the couple. (elanor is having an affair with the king and hugh is having an affair with the queen.)

When Hugh returned, he found Isabel screeching at the top of her lungs and Elanor tending to their daughters by herself. It wasn't actually a rare sight - despite the fact that he hired people to tend to the children, she preferred to do the work herself.
But that had a beautiful consequence: both of them got to witness their daughters aging into infants.

"Hugh? What a surprise! I thought you would be with Elanor and the children!" Came a voice from behind Hugh. He recognized it immediately. The king and his good friend from childhood, Edward.
One might expect her would feel guilty for sleeping with his best friend's wife. Or fearful of retribution from his king. But Hugh felt neither of these things. He just felt pure satisfaction.
"Ah, you of all people know how it is. The world doesn't stop spinning because our wives had children."
"Well, no. But I will say, yours does know how to cause a stir. I heard she gave birth right in the open?"
"Yes. Our cook started a fire. Quite dramatic, but perhaps it was the Watcher saying that our daughters were made of tougher stuff than most."
There was a moment of laughter between the two friends - but then Edward nodded. "Well, I am off to sleep. You should spend the night. I wouldn't want you riding back in the dark."
Of course, the king was right. So Hugh spent the night peacefully in the castle, mounting his horse to ride back in the early hours of the next morning.
George was not as amused by his owner's antics and for the entire ride, kept bucking. As if to give the message that he did not approve.

For all of her worries during pregnancy, Elanor has taken to motherhood like a moth to a flame. She adored her children and was frequently found in their nursery, singing to them. Even when she was supposed to be resting in bed. It got to the point that her midwife set up a make-shift bed in there for Elanor, so she could rest with her children close by.
Hugh was glad to see Elanor so happy to be a mother. After all, neither of these children are boys. And while they can technically inherit his titles and land, women were not taken as seriously as men. So his legacy wasn't secure until they had a son.
Although, it was still far too early to even think about future children. Elanor was still recovering from birth and their children were still newborns!

In the Despenser household, Elanor had slowly come to terms with the fact that she was going to have to give birth. She was excited for having children and she just had to pray to the Watcher that everything would be okay.
Her acceptance came at the perfect time, she went into labor that night. In her husband's arms. As she kicked him awake, waddling to use the chamber pot, she told him to go and fetch the midwife.
They were using Charity - the same midwife that delivered the queen's twins. Why? Well, Elanor had felt two distinct pair of feet kicking her as the days progressed.
It was almost like their roles reversed. Hugh was running around, stressed and scared, and Elanor found inner peace. She was about to be a mother. That in itself was a big deal.
She thought that she should have plenty of time. Everyone told her that labor took days, especially the first labor. And yet.... When she called in the midwife the next morning to check on things?

The queen sent one of her favorite nursemaids over to the Glasse household - Olive struggled with allowing others to take care of her kids when she was right there, but she was recovering her strength.
Ylving has started to eat foods - apples being one of his favorites. He should have teeth by the time fall rolls around, so he should be able to enjoy them truly fresh.
Camilla, always the animal lover, has been spending her time learning to ride. Her father has been encouraging her - tensions and hostilities rising means he wants everyone, even his sweet daughter, to know how to flee if need be.
She is not very confident on horseback yet. But she's getting there!

August 1312
Olive was moved from outside to her own bed - changed into one of her loosest nightgowns. All of the fires were doused so the room could be cooled off - the servants were instructed to come in every hour on the hour with a pot of cool water. She had been close to. . . well, it was best not to think about it.
Hours later, she was woken up by her husband. "Olive?"
"Upton? Isn't it too early for you to be home?"
"They sent word to me at the castle and the king would not hear of me staying behind. Let me feel how hot you are..."
She was still warm and trembling under his hand. Luckily, they were able to get a physician out to her - which would cost quite a pretty penny, but who could put a price on his wife's life?
"Oh, you didn't tell the king and queen, did you? I would hate to worry them." Olive was already stressed. "They have so much pressure on them and ---"
"Shhh."
"What you need to focus on is getting better and never scaring me like that again."
"I'm sorry. . ."
"Don't be. I should have seen you were stressed." He leaned over and kissed her head, helping her get settled. "Before you go back to sleep, though. . . You have another visitor who has been dying to see you."
Before Olive could even ask, the door was closing and her husband was out of the room.... and when he came back, he had their daughter in tow.
"Mama?! Oh, mama!" Before her father could stop her, she was launching onto the bed and into her mother's arms. Even though Olive couldn't hug her very tightly, Camilla more than made up for it.
"Hello, sweet girl. I'm sorry for scaring you."
"It's okay! I'm just -- I'm just so glad you're okay!"
Camilla was glued to her mother's side from then on - telling her stories. The story of the day was how she found her on the ground and rushed to get her help.
The story started with the truth - she found her and ran inside, screaming for help, and one of the male servants carried her inside and then ran to get the physician.
Somehow? It morphed into her personally carrying her mother up the stairs on her back. Olive, despite her exhaustion, adored her daughter's antics.
