Favorite thing about Q? Would probably just have to be how chill they are. I’m not one for drama and rudeness and I’m all about just going with the flow and they seem to on the same page as I am and that’s super chill. Not to mention they seem like a pretty damn decent person and those are rare to find.

Lucy squinted at her phone screen as she attempted to dial Q’s number, everything on the screen seemingly mushing together as the effect of alcohol clouded her vision. Finally, she managed to dial the correct number, holding the phone up to her ear as she waited for an answer. She wasn’t sure if she was expecting them to pick up seeing as it was very late, but she continued to listen to the rings nonetheless. Eventually, their voicemail message sounded against her ear. She huffed as she waited for the beep, deciding to leave a message because why the fuck not?
“Heeeeeeeello, darling.” She said, her words slightly slurring together, “I hope you’re sleeping tight and not letting the bed bugs bite.” She laughed at her own joke, dropping her phone on the ground. “Fuck,” She slurred as she reached down to pick it up, nearly falling on her ass as she did so.
“So there was this guy at the bar, right? And he came up to me and was like ‘hey, aren’t you that girl from tv?’ and I was like ‘yeah, I think so.’ and he was like ‘I’ve had a crush on you since I was like, ten years old.’ So then we made out. Except he was the worst kisser ever - it was honestly like kissing someone with dentures. It was just teeth in my face the entire time. So then I left and he tried to follow me so I ran. Then I fell and scraped my knee really bad and I wish you were here so you could kiss it better and give me a band aid. You know - that’s how I know you’re my best friend. You always have band aids for me. Even if it’s for my heart, you always have a band aid to fix it. You’re just the best person ever and I wish you were here. I have to find my way home now, so I will see you in the morning. Bye, Q. I love you!”

Lucy nibbled on her bottom lip as she sat across from her best friend, not knowing where to start. She ran a nervous hand through her hair before shifting her position on the couch a few too many times, butterflies fluttering around her stomach. How does one go about telling their best friend of almost their entire life that they loved them? No, not friendship love - but love love. Real love. Like, I want to spend the rest of my life beside you love. The blonde took a deep breath and tried to think of what to say.
“Listen, Q.” She stared, her voice breaking a bit out of nervousness. “There’s something I really need to tell you.” She cleared her throat as they looked at her questionly, no doubt wondering what was so hard for her to spit out. She reached over and grabbed their hand, squeezing it lightly before getting ready to say the thing that could possibly ruin their friendship forever.
“Throughout my entire life there has never been anyone that truly cared about me other than you. From the day we met, you treated me like I deserved to be happy and that I deserved to have whatever I wanted. You never hesitated to tell me when I was about to fuck up or congratulate me on an accomplishment. You’re always there for me and that’s something that I can’t even say about my parents.” She took another deep breath, letting go of their hand and looking straight into their eyes. Although it wasn’t often that Lucy cried, she could feel her eyes welling up. She didn’t want to ruin their friendship but she knew she had to tell them.
“I - I know we say I love you a lot and I know that you love me and I hope that you know I love you, too. But.. recently things have just changed. I don’t know what happened or why but all I know is that I am madly, deeply in love with you, Q. Not love like ‘oh my god we’re best friends and I love you so much’ but love like I want to get married and have kids and spend every living moment with you.” Her eyes flickered down to the cushions on the couch, not sure if she could look them in the eye at this particular moment.
“I love you more than I have ever loved anything. I love how you are so accepting and always make me feel like the only girl in the world. I love how you drop whatever you’re doing and come to me as fast as I can when I need you and I love that you don’t use me for my fame or money. I just, I’m in love with you. You don’t have to say it back - I totally get it. I just needed you to know that I love you. More than anything.”
