What music do you like?

Kind of a mix of stuff, I like genre mixes so it's hard to pin down exactly. I like stuff with added classical instruments or real synthesizer in it.

The most consistent group I've listened to since I was a teenager is world/inferno friendship society which can KINDA be defined as dark cabaret, but it's more of a loosely defined anarchist music collective. (Though they're probably done after Jack Terricloth passed away in 2021)

Otherwise there's some Ska (Aquabats and Reel Big Fish mostly) some Electronic music (fartbarf, look mum no computer) a little bit of rap in there (godforbid) and a lot of stuff that's harder to define (ludo, bear ghost, golgol bordello, Amanda palmer, mad caddies, electric six, Voltaire)

I kinda go for beat and vibes rather than genre. My two main playlists are kind of a train wreck genre-wise.

11. What’s your ‘signature move’ as a hypnotist?

i don't know that i quite have a signature move yet! i wish i did haha, but i have Not That Much Practice irl, at least not as a hypnotist. i'd like to say i'm fairly encouraging when i'm in the 'tist headspace so maybe i should build off of that, you know?

21. Do you have any tips for how to negotiate hypnosis play?

okay yes! i do actually. most of the people i've done hypnosis play with are hypnotists so this is largely coming from the hypnotee side, but in many ways, it's similar negotiations as any kink!

hypnosis is like... well in some ways, i would say it's a little more risky ground as far as people having power over you, right? i think if you're just beginning, you really need to establish your comfort with triggers and negotiate with people who are responsible with them. i am not a big fan of permanent, open access triggers and i think most responsible hypnotists try not to establish those unless they plan to do long-term play! in general, before you even start negotiating with anyone, vet them and make sure that you feel safe playing with them!

usually i have started negotiations "backwards"--i.e. i usually start by talking about preferences in awakeners and what we both want to feel like by the end of the scene! some people prefer different kinds of hypnosis styles, so that also ends up being a point of discussion.

after that, then you can talk about the scene itself: what kinds of things you'd like to do, what things are off limits, what things you might like to try? for example, you might communicate that you prefer fractionation inductions, that you're interested in petplay and themes around petplay, you like terms like "pet" or "toy" but not "good girl/boy", and that you would be open to experimenting with certain positions or triggers! then you have a pretty general outline to work with. part of the fun of hypnosis kind of is the different styles, so i think getting TOO specific sometimes makes it difficult to play, but you may like to be pretty specific for your first couple times!

actually I don't know if I've said this on the blog before: modern verses Henry has a tricky thing going on with his travel sometimes because he was born on international waters and also may or may not have an official birth certificate i actually. i haven't done enough digging to decide one way or the other yet, but. the whole thing was very non-standard and sometimes causes problems, is what i do know.

I honestly don't know if anyone else picked up on it since I haven't seen it mentioned, but there's a bit of a generational trauma theme in ATSV, and you see how it divides the characters.

Most of those that side with Miguel (and are aware of the Canon events, since its kinda established that not everyone knew) are those that are older while those that sided with Miles, or at least eventually did, are all younger, mostly teens and young adults.

It kinda shows how the different generations perceive suffering too, where the older generation sees it as necessary or inevitable where younger generations are more prone to pointing out what they see as needless suffering and break the cycle.

What I find a bit hilarious is that Miguel doesn't see the evidence that Canon isn't absolute right in front of him.

I think for Miguel specifically, he is trying to justify his suffering, and the problems he causes, by saying suffering is necessary, that all spiders must go through a specific set of traumas. does this justify what he's done? no, but, it definitely explains his actions. older generations are notorious for this, trying to justify what they went through by insisting everyone has to go through it too. at the end of the day it's kinda heartbreaking, for both parties; one perpetuates not only others pain, but their own, the other faces all the consequences.

that's why I need the teens and Miguel to make up, so Miguel can start to heal, so he can let go of this mindset, cause no one should be stuck like that, even if they backed themselves into that hole, for everyone's sake.

my "canon events" theory is that, Miguel is only half correct. a dimension has predetermined events that would happen without some form of higher intervention; whether you know the canon and go out of your way to stop it from happening, meeting someone outside of your canon and having it lead to having a baby that would otherwise not exist, someone being in the wrong universe at the right time allowing you to save 2 people instead of one, etc. for some examples. breaking these events, on top of other things like opening unstable portals or having unstable anomalies in your dimension, stresses your timeline, and enough stress can cause breaks or even collapse. the big but, where I think Miguel is wrong, is that timelines can rewrite themselves, so long as they're given time to heal from the stress and the damages it caused go a dimensions structural integrity. so for example, mayday, a child who should not exist, was born, changing the timeline, but ultimately, the timeline recovered and no harm was done. I believe that Pavitrs dimension would be fine, so long as spots black hole (at least that's what I think thats what was going on in that scene, I've only seen it once, and I got lost on some scenes 😅) is removed, his timeline can heal, and everything will be (mostly, probably) fine. that would allow miles, mile 42s situation, and mayday to exist without breaking their dimensions.

I just gave myself a horrifying idea and I've sufficiently broken my own heart, as well as Lou's. I need to go lie down.

Had any of the kids embarrassingly called Silco 'Mom' (in the AU where all of them are adopted) maybe during the first few months of living together?

Oh, of course they have. Probably multiple times.

I feel like Silco's response generally is a pause but not a comment on it. The fact the kid in question is now bright red is enough to prove that he doesn't need to even say anything for them to feel adequately embarrassed about it.

Vi quickly corrects to Silco and then powers on with what she wanted to talk to him about pretending it Did Not Happen.

Claggor apologises then corrects and then continues on similarly.

Mylo corrects, goes "actually it doesn't matter", leaves, and then comes back again later with the thing he actually wanted to say/ask this time being very conscious of his words.

Powder goes into awkward verbal rambling. You know the "Not-mum. Silco. Because I don't see you as a mum of course not, that'd be silly haha. You are my favourite parent though and you do take care of us and watch out for us but not like a Mum does except kind of. But I don't see you as Mum."

And of course when there are other people around the awkwardness is so much worse than when it's just them with Silco (or just Silco and Vander). If the other kids are around its Sibling Teasing over it for a little bit.

She keeps in-character, merely giving Nihlus a raise of a brow at the way he looks at her, clearly not a fan of her approach. She can handle herself. There’s a chance Wren is projecting, but she can’t help but feel like Nihlus keeps thinking of her as his mentee, and only his mentee.  She respects him,  as a Spectre and as her mentor, but while she is under his mentorship and thus technically below him in that particular chain of command, she’s also the commanding officer of the Normandy and he’s a part of her team, flipping the power dynamic. They’re both in charge.

She’s not gone behind his back on any purpose at all. The situation had simply called for her to make a decision on her own; without a team, without access to communications, but with a unique opportunity to dig deeper into Binary Helix... She’s stashed most of her gear in a hotel room, gone shopping, and is now passing herself as a socialite wife of a businessman, attending a party on her fake-spouse’s behalf.

this is sw verse specific but at first glance, surface level, krigare doesn't look as industrial / sci fi like / whatever other term you wanna use here. i've said somewhere that technology is often made to look older than it is / blend in with everything else around it. and there's a cultural reason for that somewhere in there. but krigare first and foremost is built in a fantasy universe so i like to keep aspects of that.
