DnD players be like, "I don't get the point of solo ttrpgs" and then spend an entire afternoon crafting their ideal Loxodon Barbarian grappler complete with a fully fleshed-out backstory and NPC connections, who will never see an actual table because there is no plan in their rpg circle for a new DnD game and this like their 10th character they're adding to a library of unplayed PCs.

If someone is good, use your powers to nominate them for awards.
A good educator, a good medical professional, a doer of a good thing. Nominate them. Please.
There are SO many professional, academic, and volunteer awards that nobody bothers to claim, and while it may sound like a token, in 500-1,000 words, you can give someone the basis to ask for a raise, renegotiate a contract, or avoid a layoff. Maybe all you do is douse their burnout for six months, but maybe that's all they need.
"But for what award?" you may ask.
Google it. Smash the name of the good thing they do and the word "award".
If you want to get fancy, add keywords like:
a special population they serve
their current city, county, state, or region
the type of work they do
the schools they've graduated from
their demographics (careful with this one and don't make assumptions)
Even if they don't win, they'll have been nominated. People who are good deserve to know they're 10/10 humans.

Dear ASI Friend, Our upcoming colloquium will take place on Friday, March 24, 2023 at 9am PT / 12pm ET, and is entitled, 'Kicking the dog: The endorsement of hegemonic masculinity predicts the endorsement of aversive training methods'. Presenting at this colloquium will be Dr. Lindsay Palmer who will discuss the relationship between attitudes toward animals, adherence to dog-training methods, and gender ideologies. Dr. Palmer will discuss how the endorsement of male role norms predict the willingness to use aversive training methods, empathy towards companion animals, and beliefs in human supremacy. Dr. Palmer will also seek feedback from the audience during the Q&A portion of the event as to the future directions of their work. Lindsay Palmer, PhD is a post-doctoral scholar in the Department of Population and Quantitative Health Sciences at UMass-Chan Medical School. She received her PhD in Psychology and Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies from Penn State. Her research program leverages a feminist perspective in the study of social issues, the human-animal bond, health disparities, and behavioral interventions.

I'm just kind of tired of the good day, bad day, meh day thing. Can I just have one consistent type of day so I don't have to go through the effort of figuring out how many spoons I have and if that means I can walk out my front door to get the mail?

d'ya have that thing where you're reading or watching something and they say stuff that doesn't match what happens and it drives you crazy? in my book, main girl is a professional fighter type of thing, everyone's in awe, everyone thinks she's awesome and talented and stuff. and yet, the one and only fight there's been so far, she got flattened in half a second while amateurs got the job done. get your story freaking straight.

The media is complicit in the dehumanization of Palestinians with the language they continue to use. If they can’t even call children, children, then what do they truly think of them?

It’s so sad that in order to get people to care about Palestine, we completely ignore the thousands of innocent men who have been killed in this genocide. We have to say “children”, or “women and children”, with slightly lower numbers, because the full death count is somehow seen as less tragic when we include men.
My heart aches for the innocent men of Palestine who have been slaughtered. You mattered just as much as anyone else. And for the men who are doing everything in their power to help their fellow Palestinians, we love and respect you. Thank you for all that you do.

If any of you ever feel like what you're doing for Palestine isn't helping anything, I'll tell you right now it's helping me. I know it is fortifying all of us who have been in this fight for years to see so many people willing to speak up. It has never been like this before.
The tide has already turned. The fact that #free palestine will have new posts everyday, that helps me. It helps my mental health knowing that Palestinians are less alone now than ever.
Yesterday I read some verses from the Quran talking about how "the blame" is not with those who wish to help but cannot, but with those who CAN help and do not.
Truly I do not care if all you do for Palestine is post in that #free palestine everyday, that is still more than many people with the means to do even more would do.
We see you. We see you standing in solidarity with us and with Palestinians. We love you. Thank you.
