⟩ okay so been thinking and wanna explain smth. of mine. so, matthew's name is confusing on this blog im well aware and it's genuinely because i don't mind writing it as matt or mat tbh. the reason i lean towards mat is because, well, in etn s1 there is a character named. you guessed it, matt. and i was like. im not going to go matt h. and matt p. so people know who im talking about for the rest of my life. so i had to get creative for my own sake and went, huh, why don't i take a t off of matt p. because, ma.tpat. there's one t in that so i thought it fit better, and matt h. came first so he gets rights yk? and that's how i spelt the detective's name everywhere since. but i do wanna say !! feel free to use 'matt' as well because i just. generally don't care and usually try to match my partner's preferred take on the name. i still might use mat sometimes because force of habit but hey, inconsistency is in his character anyway so let's go gamers !!
