Gale headcanon Part 2: Wedding Day
Part 1 Here
Galemancers, y’all really liked my first post with all of Gale’s (very likely to be real) wedding planning/day of antics.
I do think this would make for a fun fic and I wanna write it, but yours truly is not in a position to start any new projects at the time being (not saying it will never happen, just right now isn’t a good time!). However, I still wanna add more to this goofy idea of mine.
Here goes!
Wyll giving them lessons for their first dance as a married couple. It’s as hilarious as it is painful to watch. Gale has two left feet and keeps stepping on Tav’s toes. Tav cries out in pain and Gale feels awful so he conjures a rose to apologize.
G: “The Soirées in Waterdeep don’t move with such grand gestures and arduous foot work!” W: “That’s why you asked me to help you, Gale. Baldurs Gate throws magnificent parties.”
Gale keeps reading and rereading spell based cookbooks to try and whip up the reception meal in one fell swoop. He doesn’t trust a caterer and wouldn’t like the taste of anyone’s food but his own.
Tav keeps begging him to let someone else do the work since he’s stressing himself out with these small details, but all Gale does is smile and give Tav a pat on the head and a kiss on the cheek.
G: “Don’t worry about me, my love. Our day will be perfect, just like you are.” T: “I don’t want it to be perfect, I just want you to relax and have fun.”
Tav goes to a separate room to sleep the night before and finds their bed adorned with flowers and petals in heart shapes
Tav finds a note beneath all the bed decorations
“My dearest love, I write this with nervous hands and a fast-beating heart - we are almost upon our wedding day. What seems like a grand milestone is only just the beginning of an even more remarkable adventure. Our days of journeying through Faerûn may be over, but it only prepared me for the most important journey of them all: being your husband. You are everything, Tav. You have made me a better man. My connection with you is as innate as mine with magic itself. From this day forward, I will devote the rest of my life to your happiness. The beginning of that chapter is upon us both, and I am nearly bursting (despite my lack of an orb to make it so) in anticipation for it to begin. With utmost love, your soon to be husband - Gale.
Tav won’t be able to sleep so instead they read this letter over and over again 🥰
Gale lets Tav wear whatever they want on their big day and even paid for it
He just wants his bb to be at their happiest and this is the least he can do
Tav ofc hires Figaro the dressmaker and Zara the mummy to do makeup
Gale turning around and seeing his spouse for the first time the day of 🥺
He’s literally unable to breathe when he sees them walking down the aisle, however he is partly relieved because he was still anxious about Tav getting cold feet
Gale tears up as he reads his vows 🥺
Their wedding rings bearing the same gem that Tara has on her collar
Scratch is summoned 🥺 and becomes a permanent member of the Dekarios household, and even gets his own gem at the ceremony 😭
Owlbear gets the distinct honor of being ringbearer. He takes it very seriously. Because he knows he will get a snack for it later.
“Withers I would like to recruit a hireling” says Gale *puts an apron on the hirelings to have them clean up after the guests*
Halsin whittles them a pair of swans with their necks in a heart shape as their wedding gift. It becomes Tav’s most treasured knick knack in the tower.
Lae’zel gifts them a pair of swords, which is probably customary for her but not so much for couples in Faerûn (Gale fashions a coat of arms above the hearth with them anyway)
Astarion: “I am the gift.” 🙄
Tara finally begins to warm up to Tav when she fully realizes that Tav makes a great addition to the Dekarios family
Tara shows this by flying into Tavs lap and rubbing her face against Tav
Lasts for only about 30 seconds however. She can’t be seen letting her guard down to anyone.
The night ends, Gale and Tav retreat back to the tower with full hearts and a gleam in their eyes, proud of all they’d done to build their lives and excited for what comes next.
But there’s still going to be copious amounts of sex that night of course. They barely get past the threshold of the doorway before they’re ripping each other’s clothes off.
They’re drunk, but not just because they’ve had a few drinks. Love drunk, adrenaline drunk, life drunk.
“They deserve this night, after all they’ve been through,” Karlach says to Wyll as they are walking back to the portal to Avernus.
“Some day that will be us,” Wyll replies proudly.

I can't stop thinking of Wyll with a tiefling lover, its a brainrot. How they would help him with his new horns, maybe help him trim them and apply oil on them? How he would react to their tail wagging like a dog or a cat when they're happy?! Imagine them going in a mainly human/elvic town before he transforms and how he deals with the comments they get by strangers? And after he transforms, they distract him from those comments with love , affection and jokes😭

Once he’s transformed, needless to say, it takes him a lot of getting used to
You’ll find him staring at his reflection a lot, fiddling with his horns, sometimes with a deep sigh.
Of course you show up right behind him with a smile and kiss, saying “you look stunning as always, my dear.”
He’ll just have to take your word for it
Naturally, Wyll starts to find his rhythm in getting used to his new features: getting warmer than usual, his body reacting to you more, how cute it is your tail and you react when he’s close by
When you two passed through one of the markets, you split off for a second to find some trinkets for him.
Decorating your horns and his becomes a new favored pastime for you both, having mini dress-up sessions for each other.
Sometimes Wyll likes to rest his head in your lap as you massage his head and horns with scented oils
But, there are challenges too.
The quieted whispers and darting eyes, followed by a short “tsk” are daggers to your ears.
It saddens you to see Wyll feel down and insecure about his looks, but you don’t let it deter him.
Anytime you see or hear something displeasing, you have a kiss ready.
Pretty soon, he starts to catch on to what you’re doing and he feels so loved by you. Thank you for being there for him, for being so wonderful.

Idk this one just has a grip on me, it's probably the black cat x labrador dynamic, but I just think they are so so soft together! Again, they're just so cute together, the "I'm here to kill you" to "you're such a valued companion" is so so good and come on- the ending 😭

They should all hold hands with each other (I guess this makes sense tho coz I feel like Halion has aspects from both Wyll and Karlach so 😂)

First run:
Make a normalish Tav try to play good while keeping Astarion happy, because we are silly about him.
Hear a lot about Dark urge, and Astarion x Dark urge romance.
Start a dark urge run.
See video with Wyll kisses and hear Astarion talking about how good looking Wyll is.
I need to start origin Astarion and romance Wyll!
Hear Shadowheart being impressed with Karlach's muscles.
I need to start a Shadowheart origin and romance Karlach!
Hear ....

I FINALLY GOT A GOOD ENDING IN BG3 AND I'M CRYING
I finished my Durge run with my character Vero, and for once my character got a happy ending! Everyone that survived is happy, and Vero and Astarion have been travelling for months together.
I decided to drink with them all during the epilogue party, and my port has made me extra emotional 😭. Astarion and Halsin with his little whittled duck have especially moved me and I'm a puddle of tears. Only took me over 400 hours for a good ending, but it was so worth it. Also Lae'zel with the baby gith egg? MY HEART CAN'T TAKE ALL THIS SWEETNESS. WYLL FOUGHT DINOSAURS, I LOVE EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS

Ok spoilers below for the new bg3 epilogue (shadowzel edition only so i dont spoil the entire epilogue)
Not quite it yet but still new: pretty sure the last 2 lines from lae weren't there before + they're now in clothes instead of armour which makes sense implying theyre having victory sex
I can't resist showing karlach and wyll LOOK AT THEM OUTFITS i wiggled happily so much when they came out of the portal
Its so cute how she makes sure shes using mingle correctly. And the. 'I wont be far. Not tonight. Not ever. ' ?????????? Im dead. dying. SOBBING SCREAMING Lae'zel you romantic bastard
shes grown so much im 😭😭😭😭😭 im so in love with her
Cant show much about shart since i cant talk to myself but from some of her own dialogue responses for when the others speak to her imply shes been living in a cottage near to her parents cause i spared them (and living with laezel ofc.. i wonder how the interaction with her parents is like) she was milking a cow before this and learning selunite ways (her outfit description says smt abt it being a selunites) plus has taken in a whole bunch of animals, including the owlbear now (a choice you can make) shes also been helping laezel fight off githyanki forces while still having this farm life (gathered this from laes dialogue)
She got what she wanted, shes thriving and Im so proud and happy for her

This is all from my own choices so Im so curious what the other recordings are. The fact we even have this new epilogue is crazy. I adore this game with my whole heart

I JUST GOT THROUGH THE EPILOGUE ON MY WYLL ORIGIN RUN !!!! (epilogue spoilers for astarion romance)
ahhh im so happy,, this was my first time seeing the epilogue bc i deleted my first save after beating it since i didn't know they were adding an epilogue lmao. but anyway, it was so nice to see all the companions and to hear about what they've been doing !! i romanced (spawn) astarion and halsin and it was really sweet to see astarion so happy ! (after defeating the brain, i chose the option to help find a way to make him able to be in the sun again. also, i chose the duke ending for wyll !) and this line about astarion killed me 😭
and halsin's dialogue was so sweet !!! i'll post it after this, since i wanted to share astarion's dialogue in this and tumblr only let's you put one video per post lol. so anyway, here's astarion's epilogue dialogue !! i am so so happy for him and to see how far he's come.
just seeing all the characters and how they change and grow throughout the game is really wonderful !! now i need to finish all the playthroughs i have planned lol, which i have explained what im doing in this post:

I am so... empty and happy and idk... experiencing withdrawal after that baldur's gate 3 epilogue yall
I can't get over everything around the endgame scenes with Karlach and Astarion (and I mean the "good" endings!), I am literally still processing it days later 😭
Plus Gale being a professor, free of the orb?? Shadowheart being at peace, finding herself and able to adopt the Owlbear?? Her visiting Gale and Tara for tea??? Making her own cider and wanting to do a reunion party every year??? Being invited to lecture Gale's students and bring Astarion too and also stay and chat in his tower??? Halsin gets to be a dad like he's always wanted with all the orphans??? Karlach has hope for a new engine and may return home and might be more than friends with Wyll??? Lae'zel raging her dream, riding red dragons and learning to be more diplomatic? Jaheira being Jaheria and Minsc visiting Astarion much to his dismay (and somehow when he's not with my Tav in the Underdark or looking for a cure lol)?? Just... everyone living their best lives??? All of the hugs!???? My heart is so full the more I think about it but I also want to see it in the game and not my head 😭
Only issue is who gets Scratch??? Where has he been the past 6 months and where is he staying afterwards?? Did I miss this detail??
Basically that epilogue is so so wholesome and hopeful. Got me feeling like this once again

Im kinda down for manager Ass, but from my limited experience with him it seems like he actively kinda hates talking to people and being responsible for things lol, really hoping building up some of the others helps me place him better cuz I really want him in here
I also had like, vague thoughts of Minthy being a solo artist (same with Halsin) but a band with Droz and Gut sounds funny as hell, the amount of snark generated from dealing with those two would be insane. And I could not give less of a shit about Gortash but dad rock Ketheric is just too good to pass up
Lae'zel is 100% that kinda person, imagine she'd relent tho as long as shes given at least one good chance to show off
Producer Gale is exactly on point for what I was thinkin'!! (he's prob a math rock nerd too) And Wyll being a community manager just fits sooo well, also imagined him being a solo artist stuck in a incredibly shitty contract cuz that story aspect translates really well. He may be too much at times but they love and appreciate him to bits

Thanks to @tadfools I started thinking about what dog breeds the Baldur's Gate companions might be. I think I'm actually going to do two possibilities for each character, because I have strong opinions but there's room for improvement here.

Astarion: Poodle is the obvious choice. There's a lot of pretentious breeding behind this dog, and the larger ones serve as a sporting breed. This dog can go hunting or be your lapdog, and they're happy so long as their needs are met--but pretty much any dog will bite you if you invade their space.
The Maltese is a slightly less obvious possibility. These dogs are stubborn as fuck. My Maltese mix was harder to potty train than my former dog.
They're sort of yappy little alarm dogs, and were companion dogs for the well to do. They can be happy with less exercise than a larger breed, but let me tell you mine could keep up with my border/heeler mix and those are both herding breeds.
Karlach: Boxer. Hands down. Enthusiastic, loving, lots of energy. The breed has been mishandled by some people because they want to look tough, but this dog is a sweetheart.
The pit bull is my second choice because I've known them to be a bit more mellow. They're also friendly, playful, and very loving, and have been abused even more. This one can get muddy because other breeds--and crossbreeds--often get folded under the pit bull label.
I do think it fits her status in society--especially the way people have a tendency to breed them for looks to the point of encouraging physical deformities. I think that's similar to her mistreatment at the hands of Zariel.
Gale: Cocker Spaniel. They're friendly and like people, and they're a sporting breed. This usually means that they were bred for hunting game, so dogs like this can be fairly driven.
Plus, that hair. The drop ears remind me of Gale.
Initially, I was going to go with the Golden Retriever, but it didn't feel right.
My other choice is the beagle, because scent hounds do not. let. go. of their objective. They also like to bark. A lot.
Lae'zel: Jack Russell Terrier. Opinionated, full of energy, and not afraid to let you know about it. Keep up or give up--this is not a dog for every household. They were bred for hunting foxes and badgers, and are very intelligent.
The Basenji is my second choice. They don't bark the way most dogs do; they yodel. It's been compared to a woman's cry. They're capable of barkour (see: Lae-zel's flying leap in the intro scenes), and will pretty much do what they want unless you spend a lot of time convincing them otherwise.
They're from Africa, so I don't think they're a terribly well known breed in the US, and I think that's a bit similar to the reputation of the Githyanki.
Shadowheart: Afghan Hound. There's a lot of breeds in the hound group that could fit, honestly, because they have similar personalities.
The Afghan in particular has long hair, looks refined, and can be a bit aloof. They're pretty hardy, built for a long day's hunt in the mountains.
This can make it difficult for them to settle into a new home; they can be slow to trust and require reassurance. This is something they have in common with breeds like the Borzoi and Saluki.
My reasons for selecting all three breeds are pretty similar, so I'm going to stop here.
Halsin: The St. Bernard is a pretty obvious choice. They're big, they were bred for rescuing people, and they're usually pretty easygoing. They can carry small burdens if need be.
Personally, I'm a bit partial to the Newfoundland. Also big, they're said to be especially protective of children. This one doesn't actually fit as well because they're bred for water rescue, but I have a soft spot so I'm keeping it.
Wyll: @grandmother-goblin pointed out that I left him out. I promise, I was just tired 😭 I should have proofed this before posting.
Here's their addition:
Wyll is missing and I wanna share my completely unbiased dog breed for him: a Black Russian Terrier. (I have a BRT so I am completely biased lol)Incredibly handsome but imposing guard dogs, loyal, fierce when needed, but so so gentle otherwise. Stubborn and very intelligent, but also emotionally sensitive. 10/10 puppy eyes. Tend to follow their own head/heart regardless of what others might want.Not many people in the USA have heard of BRTs, so when when my dog goes out and about people tend to clamor around him to take pictures. He’s like a mini celebrity, like the Blade of Frontiers :)
For me, I can only think of the Doberman. I don't know if this is the best fit, but I can't get it out of my head when I think of Wyll.
This dog has a large reputation, but they're sweet with their people. They make good protection dogs and are very smart. They're very good at their jobs and can also make great service and outreach dogs. They also look pretty regal.
Wyll is aggressive towards the goblins and fiercely protective, so I think it fits.

A lot of large breeds could fit Halsin! There's a lot of possibilities here in general. I couldn't think of a breed that has Lae'zel's specific wiry build. I was also pretty lenient with hair type, though that was a factor in some choices.
Now Tav. There's a thought experiment.
