the fall and model buses just hits really hard when they were released at the exact time a social crisis was ongoing and politicians were ignoring the deaths of civillians due to police brutality in a third world country with a history of dictatorship

like it's just got a different vibe yk

#I never cared much for the drop I just love the buildup of the fall #how it grows and grows and then explodes #and the last breath feels like there's still air being held in because you had more to say #I used to hate that last breath because it didn't feel cathartic but now it just feels accurate #I remember me and my mom passing by a place with a yard with funky decor and I asked what it was thinking it was cool #it was a memorial for the lives lost from the tortures of the 70s done by the government to political prisoners #latam moment #but also #'and the ramblers will say 'it's such a marvelous view' but we don't know how many lives it took'#I always interpreted model buses' 'you're just scared of the future' as politicians being afraid of protestors #because trust me they were terrified #but then again most protestors were young adults and highschoolers #they were scared of us #of those who'd become the future #and of progress too of course #there's just a lot of layers and it feels heavier than it was probably meant to be #more powerful idk #lovejoy #lvjy #pebble brain #lovejoy pebble brain

These lines are so. god, the need to keep things that hurt others just because they serve some trivial or vain purpose. a lack of regard for human life in favor of frilly nonsense, and not even knowing exactly how damaging it is. to me, this is very reminiscent of jubilee line; the government does not truly care for it's people and would rather ignore the problems than face them, which causes more problems in the long run. no one wants to fix it except those who can't. everyone else grows apathetic because they believe that nothing will change, and the sympathetic become horrified and alienated. their efforts to feel better fall flat because they feel so estranged, and eventually-

And when you've reached the top there's no where else to go but-

-they break. because a lack of sympathy creates more apathy, and apathy with no resolve creates more hopelessness and obituaries in the newspaper
