Genuinely curious what all the people on my furry poll that voted No but said they 'believe in their beliefs' mean by that. Because if they mean they like anthropromorphic animals but don't engage with the fandom/have a suit/have a fursona then MAN have I got news for them

Also on the topic of furries I don't think I ever posted my svsss alternate universe: furry au here so let me just drop it real quick
- Shen Yuan is an affluent self-proclaimed nonfurry who is "only into the cool species lore and stuff like that". His gateway into the fandom was getting into elitist closed species like dutch angel dragons and protogens and such. He paid upwards of $1k to buy Shen Jiu's DAD fursona called Shen Qingqiu without knowing that sj didn't tell any of his friends that he was quitting the fandom, so sj's old DeviantArt group Cang Qiong Mountain Sect invite him in thinking he's sj. He talks big about hating the nsfw side of the fandom but pays his share for the annual cqms fursona orgy commission anyway because it's "supporting artists".
- Luo Binghe joined cqms as a teenager and was instantly bullied for not being able to afford pricey commissions and having an edgy half angle half devile wolfsona. When Shen Yuan takes over he takes pity on lbh and buys him a Sushidog fursona, instantly making lbh fall in love with him. After this sy always makes sure to include lbh's sona with his when commissioning artists, which makes lbh jealous because he thinks that sy shouldn't be asking other people for art of his fursona, only lbh. Lbh eventually becomes a famous artist in the fandom with highly sought after incredible skills. However, he only draws Shen Qingqiu.
- Airplane Shooting Towards the Sky is a furry porn artist/writer/troll/Jack of all trades who's known for making incredibly mediocre work but never denying even the most specific fetish commissions. He thinks closed species are overly elitist and stupid and makes his own thinly veiled ripoffs of them, which draws Shen Yuan's ire and eventual obsession with arguing with him messily and publicly. Sy constantly threatens to block him but can't really do anything because Airplane is also in the cqms DeviantArt group supplying most of the lore for the group, which sy begrudgingly admits is fairly decent and interesting.
- Mobei Jun is the nonfurry heir to a hotel chain that occasionally hosts furry conventions. He had disdained furries before because a previous convention org trashed one of his family's hotels, but then had a chance meeting in a con lobby with a half-suited Airplane. Airplane was super nauseous in his suit and had to take off the head because he felt like he was going to puke. Mbj saw him during this event and fell in love at first sight with his pathetic face and how well he fit the hamster fursona. Airplane thought he was going to call security on him. After the con ended, mbj decided to research as much as he could about furries in hopes of finding the man that almost puked on his family's hotel lobby floor in an extremely mbj core conspicuous and awkward fashion.

hey- so im a traditional artist, and dont usually get into like fursuits and stuff. not that theres anything wrong with it, just not my thing. but i did want to stop in and say that your art is literally so amazing and impressive, and ive been using your animal heads as traditional art references because they're really realistic. love your work!
Thank you so much!
Honestly, the line has always been blurred between fursuits and other costuming, puppetry, and sculptural work. What's the difference between a toony fursuit and an entertainment mascot? Or a realistic fursuit and practical creature FX? I don't consider myself a furry either - I don't have a fursona, and I don't suit at furry conventions - but working with the community lets me play around with the sort of art that I would normally have to be on a film crew to access.

Title: A different kind of art dump.
I haven't been able to get myself to make an "art dump" in quite awhile, I always tell myself that I have to be producing full artworks but that has been making me drawing less and less and making me not want to make anything that's rough. So I want to try to make rough collections of rough art because I have so many characters and ideas that I want to show and they won't go anywhere if I don't draw them!
A first draft at a Rainbow  Ice-Cream themed character, might add more to this design but happy with how it's going so far.
My favourite childhood ice-cream :] It's Vanilla, Strawberry and Lime flavoured!
Old design that I originally created as an "emo" dog adopt.
Redesign of said old design, mostly to make them look more like a dalmatian rather than an generic emo dog but also because I have 1  million pink + purple characters, and I need more variety.
Secondary Fursona I made  awhile ago because I love pigeons and I think  there need to be  more  pigeon sonas/ocs.
Slight redesign of Liefie Diefie/Secondary Fursona.
Fairly old stickman/stickfigure oc.
Redesign of the stickfigure oc. Wanted to combine the cool suit trope + girl character has big pink bow trope.
Slight update to my King Boo Sona, the bow is meant to look like Rainbow Road.
Old unreleased art of my King Boo Sona. Mainly made to be used for self-shipping but haven't really done that yet.
An Imp. Another another sona, was almost a beta version of  my current fursona. Again have so many purple + pink characters.
Redesign to make the design more interesting as well as to figure out  how I want my imps to look like. Really like those bright eyes.
Character[s]: Binary Fizz [Imp, Possibly Temp Name, OC], No Name Yet [Stickman/Stickfigure, OC], Matador [Dalmatian, Temp name, OC], Nyanbow [Ice-Cream Cat, OC], Red King Boo [Mario Self-Insert], Liefie Diefie [Pigeon, Secondary Fursona] Have a good day/night further!

Hello, I'm A Furry: My Fursona
Ok, I can't draw.
I've stated this many times.
But I'm doing it again.
I can't draw, therefore, no furry art of my fursona.
Because I would butcher it.
And I don't have the money for a fur suit.
Which I am sad about.
However, I can tell you a bit about my fursona.
My fursona is a lion, because I always think of lions as brave (and male lions are pretty lazy, which I think fits my fursona well), and I'm not very brave myself.
So, I made my fursona as a male lion that's black and blue, cause those are my favorite colors.
I've been told my fursona animal is bland, but I don't really care cause I like it.
And if I were ever to get the money for a fur suit, I would love it because then I could be my fursona and not seem crazy acting like a different person.
(Also, my fursona's name is Xack. (I've also been told it's weird my preferred first name is Scar, like from Lion King (that's not why it's my prefered name) and my prefered last name is Wolf cause.... well.... Xack's a lion))
(Edit from later below)
Also, to clarify the reason I have a preferred last name. I am planning to get a name change at some point. Until then, it stays as a preferred name. I also have a preferred middle name, but I'm not interested in sharing that right now.

So I watched 3 movies recently. Scoob!, Raya and the Last Dragon, and Luca. All around decent. Full reviews under the cut, but for the short of it
Scoob: 6/10
Raya: 7/10
Luca: 8/10
Scoob!: it's okay. The plot is passable and the animation is also passable. I like all the Hanna Barbara cameos and I like that Dick Dastardly is the villain. The voice acting is... very very noticeably not good, not in the sense that there wasn't effort, it's just not what anyone really wanted (in fact I guarantee you'll notice it right away for Shaggy). Except for Scooby, Dick Dastardly, and Simon Cowell. Yes Simon Cowell is in a 2020 movie and he's used for the "you're absolutely terrible" gag that was relevant around the time of Shrek 2. Art style is okay but characters do certainly come across as off putting in certain points. The music is... well it's got a nice sound track? Not really Scooby-Doo vibes though. It's more like a Mix Tape like how the Digimon Movie did. I will say, there were parts that actually SENT ME. This movie really wanted to say Fuck. And there's also plot points that are surprisingly dark. I will say, there's a lot of WB references and overall a lot of pop culture references that really kind of feel off in this type of movie, kinda harring. Anyway, 6/10, we don't need another one but I would be game to see other HB franchises revived in this style
Raya and the Last Dragon: beautiful art style (with the exception of the 3d Disney eyes on Sisu or however you spell the dragon. Seriously, I feel like I'm looking at Elsa's fursona). Very impeccable world building, very cool premise, loveable characters that can get a tad annoying, but still likeable, and dark plot and cool action. It's a very pretty movie with some of my favorite locations I've seen in years, and the fight scenes are very impressive. For a kid's movie, this could have easily dipped into pg13 territory. My personal opinion though is that an hour and a half is a very short time for this type of story, and things do feel a tad rushed. I feel like this movie would have told a much better story and given us more time to explore all of these characters and environments if it was an episodic series like Avatar or if it were a game. Speaking of Avatar, I love the animals and character designs, it feels very inspired by it. But yeah, its not bad, I just think maybe a season or trilogy of movies would have suited the world building better. It's definitely some high effort gritty world building for just a one and done movie. 7/10
Luca: it's a cute movie with not as much on the line. The plot almost goes a bit dark, but any time it comes close to being dark it's quickly reeled in. Art style wise, it's beautiful. I'm normally not a fan of the whole bean head noodle arms shebang that's in everything, but in 3d it actually works, and the characters have pretty decent expression. Everything else though is so beautiful, from the ocean to the small town to the day dream sequences, I like it all. I guess my gripe would be that a whole lot of stakes are raised that really don't amount to much (even for a kid's movie), and the villain is... well, I do dislike him, but not in a Randal from Monsters Inc sort of way, more like a brat that needs to get cut off from his money deal. The ending was super beautiful, though. 8/10

Pass the happy! 🌻🌈 When you receive this list 5 things that make you happy and send this to 10 of the last people in your notifications!💖
I'm probably not gonna pass this along because I have no idea how old this thing is, and I dont want to, but some positive affirmations sound fun. 🖤
I'm gonna do 6 things that correspond with rainbow colors, cause fuck it, it's my blog damnit.
❤ Red is actually one of my favorite colors, but for this one I'm gonna go with "red flavored" things. They typically tend to be strawberry, cherry, or fruit punch, but are generally a safe bet for me in general. I usually say my favorite flavor is Red.
🧡 For orange, I'm gonna go with the season of Autumn. I have a lot of love and fascination for the natural process of death and decay, as well as the general vibes of harvest, feasting, and preservation that the time of year brings.
💛 Yellow is a color I'm learning to love a bit more over time, but I'm gonna go with a good aged gouda for this one. Theres a dairy farm near my hometown that makes an amazing 3 year aged gouda that is so sharp and crumbly. Effervescent
💚 FROGS AND TOADS! Yes I am one of those! Cant get enough of those little dudes! I debated making a frog fursona but got stuck on the idea of trying to build a suit for them (fuzzy frog or dealing with difficult material?). I definitely have a grung D&D character (maybe I'll put pics on my art blog at some point!)
💙 If I want to get really literal with "things that make me happy", i will say Natural Sunlight. I worked a nightshift job last winter (bad idea if you have S.A.D.) and then shortly after worked somewhere with huge, sunny windows and it made me realize how important it is. Now I have a migraine disorder so it's a little tumultuous but I still prefer sunlight through blinds rather than none.
💜 I tend to associate purple with magic, so I'm gonna say Spellcasting Classes in tabletop games. I tend to lean towards druids, bards, and other non-primary caster classes, but occasionally will dip into crunchier spellcasters or martial classes. Thing is, I think like a spellcaster most of the time, so martial classes can really throw me off. In games that don't really have classes but do have magic systems (like WoD), I tend to make characters who have strong focuses on magic things or at least use magic a lot.
So yeah, if you wanna do this yourself, go for it. Feel free to tag me in it and I might see it. :)
