"Sibella, I don't think I can be healed with a horror movie marathon..." Emily appreciated the attempt at cheering her up, she really did, but when Emily got like this it was incredibly hard to get her out of it. She was used to dealing with her pain alone; it was what she had done as a child and until the day she died. In hindsight, not being able to go to Barkis about her issues should have made her more cautious, but alas. "I just want to rot in here. That is what my body is supposed to be doing, y'know..." She sighed, leaning her head on her friends shoulder. "Why is it so complicated to live a life so different than the majority of the population? I have never felt less human..."

closed starter location: snuggly duckling @glasslippcr
Emily never really ventured out to Echo Creek much. That was mostly because...well, she spent a lot of her younger years in Echo Creek. Only until she was about four and her parents relocated to Coolsville in their grandparents manor. Sometimes she wondered if her life would be different if they had never made that move. If they had just....kept Emily there a little longer. Would she still be alive? Would she be in love with someone else? It was something that bothered her more than she wanted to admit to herself, so she tended to just stick to what she knew in Coolsville for the sake of her mind. Nothing could hurt her if she just stuck with what she knew of her new life and left the skeletons and ghosts of her old one behind.
She was in such a good place now, but despite that her heart was heavy with these thoughts and burdens. She wondered if she would ever truly feel like she had moved on. She didn’t want to bother Victor with all of this, so here she was, at a bar she never went to, trying to escape her demons with the bitter taste of alcohol. And for a little bit it worked and she was okay and almost even went to dance. Before she could act on it though, she stopped herself, sighing softly. “Will life ever feel easy?” she wondered aloud, getting the attention of a blonde that was sitting next to her. “Oh...I’m sorry! I’m sure you don’t want to hear the sadness of a stranger at a bar. That isn’t normally why people go to these places.”

send   a   🎤    &   i'll   shuffle   my   music   &  use   the   lyrics   to   write   a   starter  . song: august by taylor swift @ghovlpire
It was very safe to say that Emily tended to feel melancholy more often these days than not. She tried not to be that way, especially around her roommate Sibella, but she tended to fall into her head the moment things grew quiet. She didn’t always share about her time with Barkis; it was far too painful to revisit most of the time and it felt better to keep those memories buried deep like she should be if it wasn’t for her...peculiar situation. SIbella wasn’t the type to judge and she has helped Emily so much just by being a friend, but that didn’t mean she meant to trauma dump on her so much.
With the rain pouring down the way it was outside it was very easy to forget her own reservations. She had been set by herself, staring outside the window with a book and a buzzing mind, her eyes far away as she recounted better days. She hadn’t noticed when Sibella had joined her at first, but when she did she turned to her friend with a sad smile. “Sometimes I can still remember how it felt to be so hopelessly in love that I was willing to risk everything...To long for a dream so badly that I could just...give my entire life up.” she said softly, sitting up a little bit. “Wanting was enough....For me, it was enough.” She looked away from Sib and back to the window. “Have you ever felt that way for another before??”

closed starter @runawayeverglot location: once upon a page
Emily didn’t go out much, but she always had a deep love for romance novels, so every now and then she found herself basking in the sun as she made her way to tend to her hobby. Bookstores always felt safe because they were decent in size and had such a comfy feel to them. It felt impossible to feel uncomfortable surrounded by other’s stories. She could spend hours getting lost in the pages and fantasizing about fictional lives that she longed to be her own. Today wasn’t a very busy day and she allowed herself to browse a little longer than normal, her fingertips brushing against the spines of the books. She must have stopped paying attention to everyone around her completely because when her cold fingers touched warm ones she pulled back as if she had been burned. “My apologies...I was a little lost in the titles...that book does sound rather interesting, doesn’t it?”

continued from here. @draculasmavis
Mavis had to be the kindest woman and person of their own kind she has ever met. She was wise, but curious, and gentle even though she could be far from it. Emily didn’t feel like she deserved a budding friendship so nice. She was all mess and shattered glass while Mavis was sunshine and priceless porcelain. It didn’t seem fair that the universe hadn’t given it’s all to Mavis already and she hurt for that reason. “I’m not a strong person,” she said quietly, bringing her hands together. “A stronger person would have been able to tell her ex off the moment she saw him. A stronger person wouldn’t be trapping a man to get to know her. A stronger person wouldn’t cry so much despite the fact that she doesn’t even fully understand how she can still do that....” She trailed off for a moment, lost in her own self-loathing. She wished she could see herself the way Mavis saw her, but she came up empty handed every single time. “You are very kind, though. I appreciate everything you have said and done for me. I wish I knew how to give back to you.”

@barrelingthrough location: coolsville cemetary
Emily had to stop meeting people this way. She spent so much time at the cemetary and normally she was alone when she went on the ungodly hours that she did, but now? Well this was the second time she saw a very cute guy in front of her just standing amongst the tombstones and of course she had to know why. It was itching at her to find out. She didn’t even try to be discreet as she made her way to the man, looking at him with pure curioisty in his eyes. “Why are you here?’ she asked, sounding way harsher than she meant to. “I mean....it’s really late and normally people avoid creepy places when there’s no light to guide them...I’m simply....curious?”

@vvdort location: outside the faux ghost
Emily always invited Victor out for a night out to let loose and have fun. He was not the type to do that and for the most part, Emily did try to respect that, but she was just so awfully addicted to Victor when he let himself go. It was just the most adorable sight she has ever seen and when he allowed himself to just be...it made her fall for him even more. When she spotted him approaching her she ran over to him, hugging him tightly before pulling away. “Victor darling,” she cooed, grinning at him like he was the most important person in her life. He kind of was, but she wasn’t going to tell him that. If she came on too strong, she could scare him away, and she didn’t want to do that. Losing him now that she has gotten closer to him would destroy her and she has already lost so much...”Are you ready to go in? It’s a normal night tonight, I promise. No themes or special events.”

open starter location: event bonfire
This was probably bad to admit, but Emily was a little high on her own bloodlust. The bonfire was packed with all kinds of people and her teeth ached just thinking about it. She tried to prepare herself, tried to fill herself up on what she could before she got dressed to go to it, but it was a harder night than most. She knew she just needed a drink or five but she worried about getting too drunk and her fangs relaxing and scaring people away. To always feel like such a burden, such a wretched creature...it was hard. She wanted to have fun with the community and she wanted to spread her wings and meet more people, but she didn’t know if she could do it. She just...didn’t know.
But she played it off well. She danced and swayed and let herself get lost in the music. When she needed a breather she further out to the beach. Like she was right now...taking a deep breath and letting the salt air burn her lungs with each inhale. The sky was shining with a million different stars in the sky and all she could do was smile. The breeze was a slap in the face in the best of ways. As she stared up at the sky she sensed someone approaching and she turned her head, probably a little too quickly. “Can I help you?” she asked lightly. She knew she probably looked a little weird, but she had accepted that a long time ago. “It’s a perfect night for an event like this.”

closed starter @am0ngstgods location: emily & sib's apartment
"Everything was going so well...I should have known better..." Emily muttered to her friend, looking at her with sad eyes. Emily had not been well since her conversation with Mason. She had gone back to hiding amongst the shadows and only leaving when it was for work. She feared Ursula more than she hated herself, apparently. Sibella was doing her best to be there for her and she appreciated it, but she felt as if she was taking up too much space. She was always taking up too much space with her incessant feelings. Meg was not the type to allow Emily to wallow, so she called her over. "I just....What was I thinking? Here's our first kiss, by the way, I'm dead! Meg, I don't know what to do...."

closed starter @picassorsumshit location: evermore museum & gallery
Emily always had a deep appreciation for the arts. She had studied them for countless hours during her time in solitude with the private tutors. Her parents wanted her to be able to have as many talents as possible and Emily just used it as an excuse to cling to the arts. Still as much as she studied and as much as she tried to be well versed with painting, she was alright at best. Her true passion came with music and classical pieces. She only seemed to play her own melancholy pieces these days so a change of scenery felt important. She hadn’t even really been to the museum until recently but she was starting to think of it as another small corner in the world where she could be herself and remember what it was like to be alive again.
She had been staring at a piece for a long time. It was an original, but she couldn’t quite make the artists name out. Her vision really wasn’t what it used to be these days. Turning to the closest person next to her she gave a shy smile. “Excuse me,” she began softly. “Could you possibly read the name of the artist here?” she pointed a dainty finger towards the painting. “I...I forgot my reading glasses.”

closed starter location: crystal cove beach @vvdort
Emily was not normally a beach person. She couldn’t really handle the sun much and she didn’t really care for the feel of sand all over her. Yet when Victor had asked her to meet him at the beach when the sun went down she couldn’t help but wear her cutest swimsuit and cover up and make her way over there. She was always cold, so she didn’t have to worry about the lack of warmth as her feet touched the cool sand. Things with Victor were going better than Emily could have ever dreamt, so she was curious to see what he had going on in his head right now. “Victor, darling?” she called out as she searched for him on the shore. When she spotted him she had ran over to him at a faster speed than any human ever could and when she was close enough to him she wrapped her arms around his neck and planted a kiss on his cheek. “Are you alright? What is going on?”

closed starter @lockedinthenight location: faux ghost
Emily had been feeling like her world was coming back to life. She had been dancing on air since Victor had kissed her and she never ever wanted to come back down from it. Everywhere she had been since she had been dancing with everyone she saw and celebrating her chance at a better life. She danced on bar tables she danced on the dancefloor; everywhere she had a moment because she wanted to share her joy with others. Which is what led her to the Faux Ghost. She was having the best time ever, wondering if Victor would come and surprise her, when she felt a presence by her. It was that boy from before. The one she was certain was just like her. The only difference would be the air around him grew menacing, almost. She made her way to him out of morbid curiosity really. She thought he deserved a little kindness and maybe that air around him would change. She tapped his shoulder, backing away with just a quick of a reflex as he turned around ready to fight. She was not a fighter. “Evening to you too,” she said with a small smile. “What brings you here tonight?”
