It makes him remember where he started and how far he's come, and he's so happy to know you've always supported him and always will

You've always been the only family member who supports his dream, so when he sees you in his old jersey at the U-20 match, he can't help but get very emotional on the inside

He tries not to show it but the way he wipes away a few tears is just too obvious

-one of the few times when they work together decently for the sake of not dragging down your mood

-they're about to start little arguments most of the time, but as soon as they hear your voice saying literally anything they back out of it

-it also kind of reminds your brothers of how they used to bake and decorate your birthday cakes with your parents before Sae went to Spain

-you originally didn't plan to decorate the cake, but the nostalgia in your brothers got too big, so Rin got sprinkles and chocolate out of the cupboard (the only things he found), so he ended up decorating the cake with Sae

Otoya

-he lets you do most of the work, but he helps a little bit. But 80% of the time he's just watching you

-he does all of the clean-up, though. So the work is fair

-he requires you to stay in the kitchen while he's cleaning up, though. And that's when you realize the entire time he didn't care at all about baking but instead your big brother only wanted to spend time with you to talk

-he was the one who suggested baking a cake though??? Why didn't he just ask to hang out in your or his room???

-he wanted to eat cake. That's it.

Kaiser

-he's not a huge fan of baking, to be honest. But he could never say no if you ask to do something together

-he chose a very complicated recipe that's definitely way above both of your skill levels when it comes to baking

-but the oh so great Michael Kaiser absolutely inisted on sticking to that recipe even when ten minutes into it, he realized he barely understands half of what the recipe asks for

-you manage to save the cake somehow. It turns out a lot different from the original recipe, but still tastes good

Ness

-he always tries to find at least one activity you can do together on weekends, and this time it turned out to be baking

-he got very excited for it even days earlier. Mostly about spending time with you, but also because you planned to make his favourite cake, which he hadn't eaten in years

-the recipe ends up being harder than you expected, so there are a bunch of struggled but your brother somehow manages to fix them all

-he's doing all of the cleanup in the end while you get to decorate the cake!!

Karasu

-he spends more time messing around with you than actually baking. Like you've barely started mixing the batter and suddenly he starts dumping flour on your head

-it kinda annoys you but you get revenge by touching his face and clothes with your hands full of flour

-you end up with an insane mess in the kitchen that needs to be cleaned up before your parents come home

-you let your brother do most of the work, though. After all, he's the one who started messing around

-Baki found out about you when your father randomly mentioned he has another child

-Baki immediately wanted to meet you, but your father refused to give any details about you

-because there were... a lot of other things going on in his life, Baki couldn't actively look for you. But Kozue helped him!

-you always knew you have two older halfbrothers, but your father always told you they would hate you because you're too weak

-so when you first met Baki, you were shocked by how nice he treated you

-honestly, Baki was surprised to find out you're not a fighter. But instead of resenting you for it like your father always told you, Baki became incredibly overprotective over you

-your first meeting was kind of awkward. Baki (somehow) found out your address and suddenly stood in front of your door. You spent a few hours catching up on each other's lives (to some extend)

-Baki immediately felt as if you've known each other since childhood, but it took you a while to completely become comfortable with him. The fear of being hated for being weak stayed in your mind way too long

-Baki didn't know about that for a while, but he knew something was off. At some point, you opened up about it and he immediately reassured you that he'd never hate you. If you're not as strong as him, that just means he has to be the one to protect you

-and now, you're very close with Baki. You don't live close to him, but he visits you every few weeks. He doesn't want you to visit him, because he thinks staying at his place will get you into danger

Complementary (Shouei Barou x reader)

Synopsis: Nothing describes your relationship better than "opposites attract", which your boyfriend loves to subtly show with colours.

a/n: I wrote this back in October or November and it was intended to be longer, but I don't have enough ideas to continue. I no longer write romantic fics here but have fun with this one!

It's not that obvious to others, but complementary colours play a big role in your relationship with Barou. It doesn't matter if one of the colours is his or your favourite - as long as they're complementary, Barou finds a way to put them into your relationship.

It all started when Barou bought a pair of matching chopsticks for your first month anniversary. One pair red, one pair green. But instead of him keeping one pair and you keeping the other, he gave you one of each colour and kept one of each as well.

It bothers a part of Barou's perfectionism. He doesn't like seeing the single red and single green chopstick in the drawer with all the other pairs. But as soon as he takes them out, it feels perfect to him again. Knowing the other red and green ones are yours makes him feel more connected to you.

The chopsticks were only the beginning. By now you own various matching items in different colours - all complementary to what Barou owns.

It's nothing either of you ever speak about, though. Complementary colours are just a common theme in your relationship. It's not obvious enough for others to point out either.

Because just like the colours, you and Barou are opposites. And yet, you're perfect for each other.

Cuddles with Isagi always include forehead kisses. When you lay in a position in which he can't reach your forehead, he awkwardly tries to shift either his body or yours just enough so he can kiss your forehead. Or your cheek, if that's closer. He doesn't give you kisses constantly, but every few minutes to remind you of how important you are to him.

Bachira can't stay still while cuddling because he's too energetic and being in the same position is too boring for him. He needs to change the position at least once every two minutes. He can only cuddle without moving around when he's tired, but that also means he will fall asleep in a position that's most likely slightly uncomfortable for you, but you can't get yourself to move even a bit. You just can't risk waking him up.

Kunigami basically traps you in his strong arms and there's no escape from him. Especially when he falls asleep, there's no way for you to get out. Besides that, his embrace comes along with an intense feeling of security. Occasionally, Kunigami also likes being the little spoon because sometimes he needs to be held as well. But nine out of ten times he's the big spoon.

Chigiri didn't expect to enjoy cuddling as much as he does. At first, he only agreed to it because he knew you liked it, but now he can't get enough of it. He's still too shy to ask for cuddles, though. Most of the time, you have to get his hints and then you need to be the one to ask if he wants to cuddle. He also has a hard time letting go from cuddling because if it was possible, he'd never let you leave his arms.

When Isagi has a crush on someone, he can't help but be absolutely amazed by everything they do. And ever since he's fallen for you, he's been secretly watching you - not in a creepy way, of course - and every day he just wonders, if you're naturally talented or if you used to suck at soccer and then improved over time. But for as long as he can remember, he doesn't recall any moment when you failed or did a tiny mistake on the field.

What he doesn't know is that you're not really thinking about what you do. At all. You never did. Each time you play soccer, it's as if your body moves on its own, so there's nothing to think about for you. An off-field? You're a disaster that somehow, maybe through returning coincidences or fate, rarely has any mishappenings.

You've noticed how Isagi is always around when you play soccer. No matter if it's when you're playing in a match or just at practice. He's there and he's only watching you without paying attention to any of your teammates. You've known him long enough to know he doesn't have and weird thoughts or intentions, so you really don't mind him being there all the time. You do wonder why he does it, though.

Synopsis: You never cared much for soccer and don't understand much about it, but of course you still want to be on your father's side during the U-20 match - that includes meeting the Blue Lock Eleven before that.

For months, you listened to your father talk about Blue Lock and the players, even though you rarely understood anything about it. During that time, you picked up the names of a few players like Isagi, Bachira and Rin, but you don't even know what they look like. All you know are the bits and pieces of information your brain picked up from your father's rambles whenever you had dinner together.

Despite your lack of interest in soccer, you immediately knew you wanted to come along to watch the U-20 match. Not necessarily because you were interested in seeing the match, but mostly to be at your father's side.

The entire time, you don't really know where you're going. You're either following Anri or your father wherever they go and try to not be a bother. And then, you find yourself in the Blue Lock Eleven's locker room.

At first, none of the players notice you because you're hiding behind Anri and everyone is focused on the speech Ego is holding, but when he's done with that, you're just kind of standing there, leaning against the wall and trying to be as unobtrusive as possible.

The first player to approach you is Karasu. As he walks towards you, you can feel yourself getting slightly nervous. Because of what your father has told you about the Blue Lock participants, you feel rather intimidated by all of them. "Aren' a bit too young to be an assistant?" Karasu asks as he takes a step closer to you.

"Oh uh... I'm not an assistant," you let out a little nervous laugh, "I'm just here because of my dad."

"Oh? And who is that?"

You gesture over to Ego, which has Karasu speechless for a moment. He takes an even closer look at you. "You don't really look like him." Karasu shrugs, but then you move some hair that's fallen in front of your eyes to the side and Karasu immediately catches the only thing you have in common with your father, appearance-wise at least.

"YO GUYS EGO HAS A KID!" Karasu yells through the entire room which immediately catches everyone's attention. Well, everyone's except Rin's. He doesn't seem to care at all.

Besides that, everyone has the same reaction: surprise. The thought of Ego having a kid that's their age has never crossed their minds.

The next person to walk up to you is Otoya. And he immediately starts flirting with you which gets him a death stare from Ego. That's not what makes Otoya back off, though. It takes Karasu to drag him away from you - which you're really thankful for because, on top of being nervous, you donn't want to get flustered as well. You just don't want to embarrass yourself in front of the Blue Lock team.

Bachira and Isagi are the next ones who talk to you, in the hope they can make you feel more comfortable after Otoya tried to flirt with you.

"Which soccer position do you play? Are you a striker as well?" Isagi asks, assuming you play soccer - which isn't a bad assumption, considering who your father is.

"Oh eh... I don't play soccer. I barely know anything about it." You answer with another nervous laugh.

Isagi already feels bad for making that assumption and he's about to apologize, but before he gets to say something, Barou, who's standing a few meters away but heard what you said, asks in a mocking tone: "Why are you here, then?"

This makes you feel even more nervous. Looking at Barou, he intimidates you more than the othee players, so you don't know how to defend yourself. Luckily Bachira does that for you.

"Oh come on, they can still watch us play!" He says to Barou before turning to you with a bright smile that quickly lets your nervosity fade and makes you feel more comfortable.

You really want to continue the conversation Isagi and Bachira tried to start with you, but before you come up with something to say, the team has to go outside because the match is about to start.

A bit later you find yourself sitting with the players who don't get to play right now. You wanted to sit next to Anri, but somehow ended up with the rest of the Blue Lock players.

The one you're sitting next to just happens to be Barou. Occasionally, you hear him mumble little complains about what's going on in the match and how it would go much better if he was on the field right now.

"I bet you'd do great..." You look at Barou with a soft smile in attempt to lighten his mood a little bit.

"Oh shut up." Barou responds without looking in your direction at all. "You don't even know anything about soccer."

"But I just said you'd do great-"

"I'd do much better than 'great'," Barou's eyes wander over to you with a condescending gaze for a moment before he returns his eyes to the field.

"Tell me," you continue talking, "What would you do if you were on the field right now?" Even though he still intimidates you, something about Barou is just so interesting, it makes you want to talk to him more.

Without any hesitancy, Barou goes on a whole rant about what he'd do on the field. You don't understand most of it, but still listen closely to everything he says. It doesn't take long until some of the other players who sit with you join in and you find yourself stuck in a conversation with them.

They're mostly rambling and ranting, but the more they talk the more you find yourself understanding what exactly they mean.

And as odd as it is, you feel like you want to get to know the Blue Lock players better. Not because of soccer, but because you want to know what they are like as people. Maybe your father will let you enter the players' areas in the facility some time so you can get to know them better.

"Apparently you can't even cook without me being around to keep an eye on you." Even though his tone is a little strict, you know he's not mad but just really worried about you.

"It was an accident..." You try to hold your tears back. The cut on your finger doesn't really hurt but the shock of getting injured makes you want to cry.

"I know that it was an accident." Your boyfriend sighs and pushes a strand of your hair to the side so he can look into your eyes. "But you still have to be more careful. Or else I'll be too afraid to leave you alone in the kitchen."

"I was careful, I ju-"

"I know." He interrupts you the moment he sees the tears rolling down your cheeks. "Just calm down and then I'll cook for you, alright?"

A little smile returns to your face. "Can we cook together? I still want to help."

"Only if you promise to not get hurt again."

Rin is surprised by the hug and needs a moment to register it, but as soon as he realized you're hugging him he puts his arms around you as well. He's about to ask why you're hugging him, but decides to just stay silent and enjoy the moment. That also makes him think that maybe he should hug you more often, and that he should make his hugs last longer than only a handful of seconds.

Sae hugs you back immediately before his mind even picks up on the fact that you're hugging him. It's a bit like an instinct for him to hug you back so quickly. When his mind truly registers the hug, he tightens his embrace with one arm and ruffles your hair with his free hand. Although he's a little confused about a possible reason for the hug, he doesn't question it. He doesn't need to know why you're hugging him, he's just happy about it happening.

It's an understatement to say Shidou is amazed by your skill. He's obsessed with watching you play. He can barely put his thoughts on the way you play soccer into words. Your skill was what made him fall in love with you in the first place. Well, that and your mainly careless, silly personality that he just adores. But not only are you oblivious to being a soccer genius, but also to the way Shidou feels about you. His crush on you is obvious. Incredibly obvious. It's so obvious, other people already think you're dating and you always fail to understand why.

Nagi recognizes many things in you that are similar to him. The only differences are that you're way more oblivious about being a soccer genius than Nagi is about his own skill, and you're not as lazy as him. The similarities between you two is the main thing that amazes Nagi, and it makes him feel an urge to be closer to you. While his feelings for you are romantic, Nagi doesn't truly realize that. Despite that, Nagi wants to be closer to you. He wants to get to know you better and he wants to learn more things about you, hoping that'll make him learn new things about himself.

Just like 99% of asian parents, dad!Ego's main love language is bringing you food. Even when he's busy with work, each time he makes himself a bowl of instant ramen, he makes one for you as well and brings it to your room. Ego knows which instant ramen brand is your favourite, and as soon as you mention really liking another one, he buys that one in bulk - typical dad behaviour.

Ego pays more attention to your diet than to his own. He doesn't force you to eat anything you don't like, but he tries to encourage you to eat more nutritional food. Although, due to his own eating habits you tend to not listen to him. But Anri's there to help out a bit.

Sometimes, Ego randomly knocks on your door and asks if you're hungry. Most of the time, it's not necessarily because he thinks you might want food, but mostly because it's an easy way to start a conversation.

-but for the longest time, Kaiser stayed stubborn and kept saying no. He always found new excuses for why he doesn’t want a cat in the house

-although, at some point he had no other choice but to finally give in and let you get a cat, but he said you’d have to take care of it on your own and make sure the cat doesn’t get too close to him

-who did you find cuddling the cat a week after getting it? Exactly. Kaiser.

-seemingly out of nowhere he suddenly decided he suddenly loves your cat to death. He spoils it with fancy expensive food (rip to you, the cat will never again eat the affordable cat food you used to buy) and he als buys a lot of different toys for your cat

-your cat gets bored of each toy after three days and that’s when Kaiser gets a new one

-you love to tease him about how much he was against getting a cat at first, but Kaiser always shuts you up as soon as you mention that

Ness

-he wanted a cat and nothing in the world would ever make you say no to something Ness asks for

-the cat is like your and Ness’ child. You always say it’s your little baby and treat it like one. -for a moment he wonders what has to go on in your brain for you to forget your bag, but he's already used to this anyways

-he drives back home to get your bag

-he thinks you're joking so he laughs, but when you repeat that you forgot your bag, he realizes you're serious

-he panics for a moment, then tells you to go to your classroom and that he'll bring your bag as quickly as possible

-he ends up getting stuck in traffic, so by the time you get your bag, your first class is already over

Dad!Lavinho

-you don't even get to leave the car. He immediately turns the car around and drives back home at full speed

-then he runs into the house, grabs your bag, returns to the car and drives you back to school. At full speed once again

-you arrive at school a few minutes late. But luckily, your teacher is a few minutes late as well so it didn't matter much

Dad!Snuffy

-this isn't the first time this happened, so Snuffy is slightly disappointed, but he tries to not show it too much

-he knows that if he drove back home ow to get your bag, he wouldn't be able to bring it in time before your classes start

-Lorenzo is at home, so Snuffy asks him to bring your bag, which he does

Big brother!Barou

-he gives you a three-minute speech about how you keep forgetting your things all the time and that you really need to improve on that

-you expect him to let you go to school without your stuff, but when you get out of the car he just says "I'll be there with your stuff in 15 minutes" and drives off again

-as promised, he brings your bag but then scolds you once again for forgetting it, but this time in front of your friends so it's more embarrassing

Big brother!Karasu

-he needs to go to school as well, so he has the choice of either getting back home and getting your stuff (which would result in him missing his first class) or letting you go to school without anything

-he ends up handing you a piece of paper (that has a part cut off at the bottom) and a pen from his bag and tells you "Good luck surviving today"

-you somehow made it through the day, but only because your friends let you look into their books and also gave you paper to use

Big brother!Oliver

-he says "I guess you're going to school without your bag" and then he drives off without even saying goodbye

-but he's actually going back home to get your bag. He's just letting you believe he doesn't care to mess with you

-he bursts into your classroom in the middle of the lesson to give you your bag. And he also interrupts the class in general because nobody even knew he's your brother so now half of your classmates want to take photos with him

-he just thinks it's so cute how you talk in a baby voice and how gentle you are with his little brother

Kunigami

-he immediately gets cuteness aggression the moment he sees you holding his little sister. It takes him a lot of self-control to not just run up to you for a tight hug

-when it's time for his sister to take a nap, you lay down to cuddle with her. Kunigami takes an insane amount of photos because he wants to keep this image forever

-he ends up laying down as well so now you're stuck in a cuddle pile and can't move because you might accidentally wake up his sister

Barou

-he had no other choice but to babysit both of his little sisters while hanging out with you, so it bothered him at first. He loves his baby sisters, but he also wishes he could spend some time alone with you

-but the second he sees how much his sisters already love you, every negative thought disappears

-the image of you hugging his sisters is burnt into Barou's mind now. He'll keep thinking of it all the time for the next weeks
