Mmm I've been thinking about it for a while. VA is one of the characters I really want to know more about (and hoping he gets a role in HSR too). He's just so intriguing...Lots of non canon-compliant bits here, just something I had in mind for him haha (Using He/Him for Void Archives here!)

Void Archives ends up in the Herta Space Station, alone. There wasn't anywhere in particular he wanted to go, and the Space Station seems to be a good place to start. There's a ton of information that can be of use to him, relics and items with special powers, and a lot of research papers. It helped that the staff here all had a tendency to leave their notes and papers out in the open for just anyone to read it, aiding him further in his exploration. The term 'Honkai' wasn't applied anywhere, but there were mentions of a Stellaron and Aeons and...well, Void Archives could connect the dots.

(There was the question of the Herrscher's whereabouts, but he supposed the two of them would meet again, somehow.)

And then he meets you.

You're a researcher, though not held in nearly as high regards as your colleagues, with a particular interest in the Stellaron and the harm it brought. What you searched for was answers; a reason for the sudden spread, how it all started, and so on. VA steals your notes and drafts often, sharing your curiosity in the phenomenon, and looks over them carefully. Well-written, and detailed, accompanied by various, and at times, outlandish, theories. But from his own experience, even the most far-fetched possibilities weren't impossible.

He tells himself that your research, and by association, you, would be helpful, and that was the only reason why he was constantly near your desk. That's also why, when he sees you look particularly dejected after yet another failed report, he leaves you a can of your favorite drink on your desk. It's not because he can sympathize with your fervent devotion to your mission, or with your desire to stop staying in the shadows of others. It's only because it's in his best interests that you stay motivated and continue working on your research, so you can supply him with the information (and entertainment) he needs.

One day, you happen to catch him looking through your papers, and...you take it surprisingly well. He was muttering to himself something about your mention of aliens, and you immediately rushed over and launched into your understanding of alien species and their role in the disasters. You were foolish, he thinks, but oddly endearing. Maybe you thought he was a researcher, or maybe...he watches you go on about the Fragmentum and common identification signs with poorly contained excitement—maybe you were just happy that someone was interested in your work. A lot of your words don't make sense to him at the speed you're going, but he listens all the same—He's become quite good at that, after all the centuries. He finds it quite odd that just his presence by your desk has invigorated you to such an extent. He wonders how pathetic of a state you have to be in to end up like this, how desperate you must have been. It wasn't like Stellaron research was unpopular, it was just your ideas that weren't very well received. Such a shame too, your efforts were admirable, and your heart was in the right place, even if your ideas were a little unconventional.

But he doesn't particularly mind the company. He doesn't mind when you sit beside him after a long day, a string of complains ready to go (He acts disinterested, but he is listening. He thinks you keep coming back because you know this, too), or when you drag him to a window and name all the stars you know (He asks himself why he's never done this before; because he had never known to, or because he never cared to?), or even when you ask him for his opinions on your theories and reports (And what is he supposed to say? Tell you about the Honkai and the Sky People, and of his life so far, to assure you that nothing is too absurd to be real?). He finds that being beside someone after all this time, especially with someone who expected nothing from him and knew nothing of him, was...unexpectedly nice. It was something he could see himself getting used to, though he knew he shouldn't. There was a hundred other things he could be doing right now, and loitering with a nobody researcher was hardly on the list.

One more day, he tells himself. But he's been saying that for a little too long already.

oh hi.

i'm putting my rp blogs on hiatus! how long? don't know! i've already really dipped in online activity the past 4ish months primarily due to a mix of overall burn out + irl things coming to the forefront of my focus. i'll be moving in the next couple months into an apartment, which means i'll be switching to a fulltime job at some point soon. that coupled with other irl things means i'll be pretty absent on basically all my rp blogs.

reflecting a bit here, i've definitely slowed down a lot in terms of tumblr roleplay over the years and i feel i've finally hit my ceiling.

i still really enjoy this hobby, but i've grown tired with doing it on tumblr specifically. i feel there is this impossible urge i have to keep up with everything going on with my mutuals and their characters driven by fear of missing out on potential roleplay opportunities that it becomes discouraging the more and more i'm faced with it and can't meet the expectations i set for myself. it's something i've dealt with before in the past, and it was something i was dealing with before i started becoming less and less present on here back in autumn, among other things. and i think the fact i've been less anxious and more at peace since distancing from the tumblr rp scene is a sign i should definitely listen to what my gut is telling me.

so i will be taking a proper, official break. and i think when i am ready and in a position to properly come back, whenever that may be, i'll likely be remaking and moving my sonic blogs to a multi for convenience sake.

this ISN'T a goodbye, though. i'll still be available on discord and will be lurking in the servers i'm in, and i'll probably still occasionally pop on one of my rp blogs for the occasional goof in my down time. BUT for the time being, in terms of proper roleplay - i'm gonna be restricting that to discord only.

you're welcome to ask for my discord, if you'd like to keep in contact (but i will be selective with who i give it to). i've been kind of a social hermit lately though i'm trying to NOT be that and interact with people again.

Hey! Writing tip here! When you need something to act as a segway from point A to point B, skip over it. Fixating on a gap will disrupt your writing flow and make it harder to move on.

Instead, just put in some brackets saying something like [And now a Thing happens] which you can replace with the actual story later. There's a decent chance you'll come up with it on your own while writing the next part. And if you don't? You're still pushing the plot forward.

As for tips for figuring out what that segway should be, I recommend making a list or two.

First, make a list of the characters involved and what their motivations/goals are, as well as what they don't want to happen, it doesn't have to be anything fancy, just a few bullet points will do (Remember: These are just notes, not the actual story! They don't have to look pretty). Seeing how these characters conflict with one another (and with the story) will create a sort of skeleton outline for how things could go.

After that, you can use those motivators to make another list of potential things that could happen to move things along. Make something go well for one character and poorly for another. Make things seem to go well and then spiral out of control. Do the reverse. Focus on writing down as many possibilities as you can, don't think too hard on it. Then, you can go over them, take the ones you like, and expand on them.

Of course, if you come across an idea that you really like before any of these steps are completed, you don't need to finish. In fact, you probably shouldn't, since working out potential ideas when you already have one you're happy with will just feel like a chore.

I've decided to try typing out potential ideas/things to involve ìn the writing before I start so I have a general guideline, and I will definitely try the skipping over it part! I like the idea of Green Hill Zone having an underground area where you can pick up the emerald much more than the special stages of actual sonic 1.]
