the backstory:

There were many rumors about where Natasha romanoff’s life began. While there’s no record of the truth, Nat’s earliest memories were of the Red Room where, with other young girls, she was trained in the black widow initiative. She proved to be a great asset for the USSR even as a child, and was placed on many missions throughout her life. Because of the skills and abilities she showed young, Nat was given Russia’s version of the super soldier serum which altered her physically. It wasn’t until Nat was hunted down by the Agent Barton when she decided to switch sides. From the mission in Budapest, she became a spy for SHIELD and helped with the beginnings of the Avengers project.
