苦手なんだよね〜貧乏ゆすり。
するとBは縦に四つに折った新聞をクシャクシャと音を立てつつ器用に広げたり読んだり、折ったり、読んだり、広げたり、クシャクシャ。
Ａは引き続き貧乏ゆすり。
Bはクシャクシャ。
これは席を変わろうと思って周りを見ると、立っている方もチラホラいて満席🈵、まぁ立って他の席を探すのはムリかなぁ。
都内まで40分ぐらい？ちょっとカッタルイなぁとＡの貧乏ゆすりとBの新聞クシャクシャを我慢することにした。
Ａの貧乏ゆすりは時々、やむ。
あ、やめてくれた、と思うと3秒後ぐらいに再度貧乏ゆすりがスタート。
Bの新聞クシャクシャも、やまない。ふとBの掛けてるショルダーバッグ👜を見ると小さな鈴🛎️が付いてるw
Ａは時々、脚を組む。すると当然、貧乏ゆすりはやむ。が、5秒後には脚を戻して、貧乏ゆすりが始まる。ツライw
この状態で約15分。
ついに！
Ａがとある駅に近づくと、ソワソワし始めた。
そうです。Ａは降りるのです！
「やったー！」と内心、「我慢して良かった。いつかは報われる日が来るものだ！」と我慢した自分を褒める僕w
次の駅に着くとやっぱりＡは降りて行った！
その席にはすぐ品のある若い女性が座った。良かった。
そう言えばBは？と、ふとBを見たら！
なんと左脚で貧乏ゆすりを始めた！wwwww

「良かった！Bも降りるんだ！」と思った次の瞬間、路線図を見ていたBが戻って来て僕の右隣に再び座ったwwwww
そして、左脚の貧乏ゆすり地縛霊の動きが始まって「チリンチリン」と小さき鈴🛎️が地縛霊を鎮魂するように小さな音を奏で続けるwwwww
なんなの？wwwww
「もう立つわ！腹も立つし！」wwwwと思って流石に立ち上がろうとしたら、今度はBが僕の前を向かって左側に横切り、他の左側の席に移って行った！
「よし！これはSNSのネタにしてこの約20分のイライラを承認欲求で回復してやるし、貧乏ゆすり地縛霊を鎮魂してやる！」wwwwと心に誓ったので、書き込んでいますwwww

Zhu Yilong: Deep Diving in the Clamor World

(Translator's note: A rare & lovely interview about his love for coffee and diving)
Zhu Yilong had just returned to Beijing from Basel, Switzerland, when we shot this cover feature. Located in the Rhine Valley, at the nexus of Germany, France, and Sweden, Basel is the center for literature and art on the European continent. Other than the Basel International Watch Fair that Zhu Yilong was invited to attend during his trip, hundreds of art exhibitions are held there throughout the year. Taking time off from his busy schedule, he had an unusual experience with the aloofness of this city - the European capital for the arts.
Walking along the streets of Basel, Zhu Yilong saw passersby who were drinking coffee and basking in the sun, as well as bookstores, museums, and cafes that were found everywhere; these scenes reflect Basel’s status as a city for the arts.
"The pace of this entire city is very unique, there is no sense of pressure, yet everything feels very formal." This is Zhu Yilong’s impression of Basel.
"It was an ordinary working day when we visited Basel. There were many people who were holding a cup of coffee in their hands. The people of Basel dress with a sense of formality —— trench coats, suits, work attire… They do not look like they are on a vacation if we look at their dressing, yet they are relaxing in the sun and enjoying their coffee.”
This "sense of formality" is also what Zhu Yilong is obsessed with at work.
Zhu Yilong, who had just finished filming his new drama (note: Reunion: The Sound of the Providence), told us about the night before he wrapped up the shoot —— a cup of black coffee & the filming that lasted into the wee hours of the morning. For Zhu Yilong, wrapping a project means saying goodbye. He bids farewell to not only his role, but also to the state of being in character and a part of himself at a particular stage in his life. He needs time to bid a complete farewell to the character before returning to his life.
"I will have conversations (with the character) internally. Sometimes I do feel down, but I will return to my life completely once I say goodbye to my character." As an actor who has played so many roles since his debut a decade ago, Zhu Yilong still insists on this formality.
Zhu Yilong has been an outstanding model worker over the past year. He had 3 dramas that aired Guardian, Granting You a Dream-like Life and The Story of Minglan. Zhu Yilong told us that black coffee was his most loyal companion during filming. Regardless of whether it is the set of a night scene or the dressing room in the early morning, he would always have a cup of black coffee with him. Black coffee may not be as rich as mocha or as creamy as cappuccino. And despite its bitter and astringent taste, a cup of original flavored black coffee blends fragrance, sweetness, sourness, and bitterness altogether to create an intriguing and complex aftertaste —— This sounds very much like Zhu Yilong who has been working in the entertainment circle for the past decade.
Professor Yan Ning once commented on Weibo, "I wonder how far Zhu Yilong’s conviction can take him in this restless entertainment circle.” Since he made his debut, he honed his acting skills by acting in many shows and remained steadfast in his career pursuit despite the lack of recognition. However, even with the sudden burst in popularity at the age of 30, Zhu Yilong has remained as calm as ever.
Zhu Yilong suffered plenty of setbacks when he first started out. Some said that he was not suited to be an actor. When Zhu Yilong recalled these painful memories, he maintained his calm demeanor and said with a confident smile, I can do it. And when everyone was fixated by his good looks, he chose to play a clown on Phantacity and conquered the audience with his acting and eyes.
Zhu Yilong is not only gentle; he is also fearlessly determined.
Off-screen, Zhu Yilong yearns for an unhurried pace of living and coffee has long become an integral part of his life. He laughed and called himself an "otaku." He fills his room with everything that he likes —— a movie projector, computer, piano & Johnny Depp’s movie posters. Of course, there is also a corner dedicated to coffee.
Zhu Yilong enjoys brewing coffee on days when he does not need to work. From selecting and grinding the beans, to smelling and brewing the coffee —— every step must be done with utmost care. Grinding, pouring, steaming, and brewing, Zhu Yilong needs to pay full attention to notice the subtle changes in fragrance before adding milk or sugar based on his mood. Sometimes, he will use the milk frother to create foam for his espresso. He blends his leisurely time into a cup of aromatic coffee.
Apart from his home, the cafe is an environment that brings Zhu Yilong comfort. However, his days of spending time in a cafe is a distant memory to him. He likes cafes that are hidden in alleyways where he can read, and chat with friends in a relatively quiet environment, or simply busk in the aroma of coffee while focusing on the present and having conversations with himself. As described by Virginia Woolf, “Let me sit here for ever with bare things, this coffee cup, this knife, this fork, things in themselves, myself being myself.”
Everyone who loves to hang out in a cafe would have probably dreamt of opening their own cafe. Zhu Yilong is no exception. His ideal coffee shop is a small duplex unit hidden in a hutong* (Beijing alleyways). He will choose to deliberately hide the aromatic coffee, as good wine needs no bush. Beneath the grey tiles and locust trees of Beijing, deep in the hutongs with winding paths, Zhu Yilong wants to use a cup of hand-made coffee to discover another side of this ancient city and retain the city’s slow pace of life.
Zhu Yilong described his ideal cafe: the cafe will have limited seats and it will not be too crowded. Once you enter the cafe, you will not need to wait for long to taste the delicious coffee and desserts on the ground floor. The second floor is reserved for friends and guests to enjoy specially brewed coffee. Zhu Yilong will brew a cup of coffee, invite a couple of friends to gather, drink coffee, and chat… There's no need for the atmosphere to be boisterous or loud, one can just spend quality time with coffee and friends.
In this noisy world, Zhu Yilong yearns for peace and quiet. Besides the company of coffee, he loves the blue world with a depth of five thousand feet. The world under the sea is quiet and mysterious, and you can't hear a single sound from the land. In this deep blue space, the gentle ocean embraces many beautiful stories.
Zhu Yilong described the tranquility of the underwater world: you can't hear any sound at all. Once you stretch out your hands, you can see a myriad of marine life and different underwater wonders. On land, we are often bombarded by too many sounds and sights. But once we are underwater, we can hear our heartbeat clearly and feel every cell in our body.
"We can't possibly fly into the sky by ourselves. And besides the continents, the other world that is within reach is the ocean."
The dancing seahorse, the disguised stone fish, the "flying" manta ray... these underwater creatures are free and pure. Zhu Yilong will greet them and these gentle creatures will give him their gentlest response. Two gentle creatures —— from land and sea —— enjoy a brief encounter underwater; they acknowledge each other's presence before returning to their respective worlds.
All divers know that diving is a form of blue opium. Zhu Yilong keeps thinking about the underwater world once he is back on land. He even thought about changing his career. "If I were not an actor, I would probably be a diving instructor," he said.
Zhu Yilong X Drift Q&A
Q: Describe your coffee drinking habit.
A: I drink black coffee more often because of work. I drink it when I need to dehydrate or reduce puffiness in the morning, or if I need to lose weight suddenly. If I'm not working, I will add a bit of milk and sugar.
Q: You said you're an otaku. Describe your room?
A: I don't have much time to decorate my room because of my work schedule. But I like to keep everything that I like in my room, such as a projector, piano, computer & my favorite movie posters. I have three posters in my room right now: Johnny Depp's Secret Window (2004), Mr and Mrs Smith (2005), and Raging Bull (1980). I like a movie usually because of its qualities, an actor's performance, or the plot. I also have a dedicated coffee corner in my room and I will brew coffee on days that I don't have to work.
Q: Do you remember your first cup of coffee?
A: Can't remember. It was when I was very young in my hometown Wuhan.
Q: Why are you so obsessed with diving?
A: Because we don't have the ability to reach the skies by ourselves, so another world (besides the land that we live on) within reach is the sea. In this world, everything is so quiet. There isn't any sound and there are so many marine creatures.
Q: Which are the better diving sites?
A: There are plenty of great diving sites. If you are a beginner, you must choose a site with an ideal environment - there must be great visibility underwater, the sea must be calm without plenty of undercurrents. Your first diving spot will affect your impression of the sport. If you dive in a place with low visibility, you will feel afraid the next time you dive.
