Spotlight: Alternative January Kanzashi While the yearly kanzashi are always in the spotlight, it’s important not to forget the kanzashi that the maiko of Kamishichiken and Gion Higashi wear too. Often featuring the same design elements as the other kagai, they’re unique in that they don’t need to feature kangiku as a base. They still use the same motifs that the other kagai pull from, but they feature them in unique combinations. (1.30.23) 1) slept in a bit today before getting up and ordering McDonald’s for breakfast. I had sudden cravings so we ordered and had breakfast. I then did some lesson planning before making my way to the office. Luckily today is quite a kid back day with only 1 evening class 2) I ordered some tea along with some colleagues to celebrate the last week of winter course 3) I continued lesson planning and made great progress to be honest, which I’m super proud of myself for. I then ordered an early dinner; ate it and then taught my evening class 4) after finishing up, I left work and went to get a hair cut. (1.29.23) 1) slept in a bit before waking up. Video called with my parents for a while since we rarely video call but mainly leave audio messages. Then ate some light breakfast before making my way into the office. Today was Friday production so we got to sleep in a bit which is great 2) got treated to tea and also bought some afternoon dim sum and buns for snack. Then I did some lesson planning before teaching my classes. Luckily I have about 50 minutes in between my 2 evening classes so I quickly ate my dinner before teaching the last class 3) after work, I cleaned and organized before wrapping up and heading home for the night.
