" Slowly he places a small paper bag of freshly baked cookies he bought this morning for Despa since well....after his real father passing, he was the closest thing he had to father. Slowly he makes sign language to him. 'Happy fathers Day Master, hope we can celebrate more of these days in the future!'

With how dour he usually ends up on days like this, it’s nice to have someone to distract him. Despa blinks as he takes the bag and opens it to peek inside, giving Bojji a melancholy little smile after.

“Oh - thank you, Bojji,” he signs back as the bag’s set on his desk. “We’ll have to see about that, but I’m glad to be able to celebrate with someone.” With that, he leans down to give him a quick, squeezing hug. At least they have each other.

Having a partner who is so steadfastly patient with both my chronic illness & the random ass injuries I get is so strange after a lifetime of "everybody hurts, nobody gives a shit" mentality.

I injured my shoulder somehow, I think my rotator cuff, and because of it very suddenly lost the ability to raise my left arm or really do much at all with it. Couldn't apply enough pressure with a fork to cut up my steak so he offered to do it for me with zero hesitation. I couldn't pull my pants all the way on with only one hand, or do up my bra, or put on my shirt properly, and he just.. Helped me with these things. No problem.

If I'd still been living with my parents when this happened I would've been shouted at for still being in my pajamas and not taking the garbage out even though I physically cannot lift the the bag or open the dumpster. And nobody would have even thought to help me.

OK, THIS ONE NEEDS CONTEXT

PLACEHOLDER LINE BECAUSE TUMBLR IS BUGGING OUT AND GLITCHING EVERY PARAGRAPH ONE BY ONE

Basically around 10-ish years ago I randomly got my hands on a game for the DS I‘ve never heard of before but looked kinda interesting called Legend of Kage 2. I found it to be a pretty fun, albeit a bit repetitive arcade side-scrolling hack n slash type game, y’know the ones where you walk from left to right beating enemies up with some occasional platforming (and die a lot), it was one of those. (Only with extra jumping. Like, really high jumping. Jumping around is super fun in that game because it levels up to become ridiculously high).

Anyways, I really enjoyed that game. Beat it on all three difficulties with both playable characters (Kage and Chihiro (who‘s also more fun to play and has better dialogue lol)) and unlocked most of the character concept art, but not all, so I googled how to unlock the rest. Turns out this game is, as the 2 suggests, a remake/sequel to a slightly more popular game called Legend of Kage.

Only that one is an arcade/NES game.

Needless to say, it’s sequel is not very well known. In fact, pretty much the only thing you‘ll find online are a very short Wikipedia entry, a bunch of articles from when it was newly released, around 2008, and like three walkthroughs from the same time. Which is, frankly, a bit of a shame, because this game has quite the fanart potential for a 2D arcade style game imo

So if there is no fandom- be the fandom! I’ve written that often enough under other peoples‘ stuff so why not try doing it yourself lol.

TLDR: I tried drawing fanart of a 15 year old DS game no one’s ever heard about because I couldn’t get the epic fight scenes the gameplay alludes to out of my head for a decade.

Okay, admittedly, this was a bit tougher than her usual tasks. The easiest were of course if she got the names of people that regularly went to clubs or similar - just get in there as well, if needed get yourself a job (or pretend to have it) there, seduce the victim and once alone, finish it. Then there were people she needed to track down, find them in an office or somewhere, and again, get herself into their interests enough to assure some alone-time to finish them. He though, her current task? There wasn't even a last name she got. A picture, some rough clues to where to maybe find him, and that he's called Vergil, that was pretty much all she got.

Still, though, Kage was certainly not the type to go back on a challenge. Especially not if it was this well paid of a challenge. Task accepted, moving to the rough place, and then it was time to wait. She asked a few people eventually, trying to get lucky and maybe learn about a place or something; but there was no such luck and so she kept waiting some more.

Eventually, finally, she spotted Vergil. He was walking through some of the alleys, like she had been told he might, and she started trailing him from as far away as she could. A few times, she could swear he was gone, but then managed to find him again another alley away or so, so thankfully, she managed to keep following him. Given Kage had no idea if he was going to pass these streets more than once, and that she had no real clues how to find him elsewhere, she eventually decided that there wasn't the time for her usual amount of 'studying' her targets. No, she would simply use one of her easiest, swiftest tricks and be done with it. Should be easy enough.

Choosing a shortcut in order to 'just so happen' across his way without catching up from behind him, Kage then used the right moment to put on her act - drunk girl just having stumbled out of some club or the likes - and made her way, with slight swaying and not quite in a straight line, right towards him. "H-hey handsome!", she stuttered out, focused on doing the act right but also not too much, but of course showing nothing of that focus on the outside. "Oh I must be s'lucky to run into someone like you first thing!" Not that there really was anyone else in this street - she had chosen it purposefully after all. It was always easier when there were no other people around. She grabbed one of his hands already - establish body contact, so the initial shyness some people carry is removed quickly. "Do you, do you have a moment for me? 'M so lonely..."

"Dark thoughts are all I work with. Did you forget I kill for money? I doubt you can go much darker and colder than that." She was silent for a moment, not really wanting to continue elaborating. There were certain thoughts in her past that were somewhat darker, more gruesome, than others, but she was not willing to explain all of this so she just added a 'why' to be done with it. "It is all that life gave to me that caused this. And I have often acted on it before - as I said, it's what I do for money."

Isn't it nice to have someone over and cooking for him again? Whether Nessa's any good or not is the real question, but honestly, so long as it's edible, he'll be thankful for it.
