When Sawyer had made his statement, requested that she don't leave, he'd never thought that she might actually decline. That Candice actually wanted to leave. It took him by surprise when she stated that she'd never be first in his heart. For a moment he stood there, confused as to what she could mean. "What are you talking about? Of course you're first. Lol I adore the Jenny Nicholson tvd video. It's so good! Genuinely one of the best "unnecessarily long rant about obscure tv show" videos out there. But I had watched a couple seasons of tvd before I gave up on the series so the concepts weren't entirely new to me. I'm really curious about your thoughts in general about what you saw. Also, as someone with 0 knowledge of tvd before, what were your top 3 most unhinged things about the series?

I will say though the amount of couple shuffling and bed-hopping that goes on feels excessive even for a CW show. When she said "turns out you don't have to be delusional to watch this show, you'll have the same experience either way" she really meant it because I felt rather delusional myself by the end.

I'm not surprised but I am disappointed that they didn't stick the landing on Elena's arc re: her survivor's guilt and so on. Big missed opportunity there. There were also so many random funny things like the way they seemed to be trying to softlaunch Candice King's singing career by having Caroline randomly sing in episodes? For paper-thin plot reasons?

Oddly though it did seem like the series finale managed to tie it together in a mostly-satisfying way for fans which is not what one would expect. Good for them, although to be fair it's not a high bar to clear compared to the likes of Supernatural, The 100, and Game of Thrones.

Hill's Alive is hellsbellschime on tumblr. I hate her channel so much. The only reason her channel is popular is because most of her videos are about how evil Daenerys and the Targaryens are. Not only her takes are awful and wildly incorrect, her previous video on Rhaenyra had so many repugnant comments calling Rhaenyra bed hopper and disgusting for having bastards. She loves using misogynistic talking points against her hated female characters while prioritizing a specific type of female character (Sansa and Alicent).

She’s also a Klaroline stan actually and harassed Phoebe Tonkin so much that Phoebe herself got wind of it and specifically called her out by username and asked her to stop the harassment.

She knows her audience is mostly raging incels, dudebros and Targ haters who never read the books but do read the Reddit threads and watch YouTube essays. She knows she can leave out HUGE chunks of the text and key passages to lie about Daenerys because her audience won’t call her out. She also started making shit up about the Hightowers to please her anti Targ incel audience. The Hightowers are Valyrians (or better yet Velaryons) now but also they are from the Great Empire of the Dawn but also they are Daynes but also they are First Men but also they have magic but also. The gymnastics she does for making them relevant to the main story is INSANE.

I was in the TVD fandom so I heard about Phoebe Tonkin being bullied by Klaroline shippers. I'm a Klaroline shipper myself, but it's crazy how people don't make the difference between fictional characters and actors. Phoebe isn't Haley, Joseph isn't Klaus, and Candice isn't Caroline. TVD shippers were wild, it happened with Delena stans too. Again, I've always been a Delena shipper but it was crazy how fans reacted to Nina and Ian breaking up and him marrying Nikki Reed. Nina isn't Elena and Ian isn't Damon: they're real people, not their fictional characters, leave them alone ffs.

Reps. Marjorie Taylor Greene and Lauren Boebert engaged in a public spat over Rep. Kevin McCarthy's candicancy for House speaker. But new reporting suggests that the former MAGA allies also had an in-person bust-up behind closed doors.

According to The Daily Beast, which cited multiple unnamed sources, Greene and Boebert were "nearly in a screaming match" in the women's bathroom during the House floor vote on January 3.

The pair argued about Boebert's loyalty to McCarthy on the day of the first ballot to select the Speaker of the House, the media outlet reported.

One source said that Greene confronted Boebert as she was coming out of a bathroom stall. Greene accused Boebert of taking money from McCarthy for her re-election bid but then not backing him in the House Speaker race, the source said, per The Beast.

Another source backed this up, adding that Greene said to Boebert: "You were OK taking millions of dollars from McCarthy but you refuse to vote for him for Speaker, Lauren?"

The bathroom disagreement ended with Boebert running out of the bathroom "like a little schoolgirl," the first source told The Beast, adding that Boebert told Greene before leaving the bathroom: "Don't be ugly."

* MY BEST FRIEND IS A ROCKSTAR: (tw: death) muse a & muse b have been best friends since they were kids and grew up together. throughout their childhood, muse b had always told muse a about his plans to become a famous musician and as he grew older, became more and more determined to make those dreams come true. when they both hit their teen years, feelings eventually grew and the two were head over heels for each other but neither of them was ever able to admit it. they were both terrified that the feelings would be unrequited or that it would ruin their friendships so just imagine the angst of them seeing each other with other people and FGHDFG. anyway, when muse b finally turns twenty-one, he decides to move to hollywood to make his dreams come true, and muse a stays in their small hometown. they keep in contact with one another but as time went on, muse b becomes a huge rockstar with his band and their contact start to drift but they always had each other in their thoughts, wishing they were closer to one another. a few years pass and they still speak but it’s not like before. muse b was hugely successful and enjoyed the life he was now living but always felt like something was missing. that someone was missing… it’s not until he gets a distraught call from muse a telling him that her mother died does he rush on a private jet and comes home to her. after helping her arrange the funeral and being there for her through her grief, he suggests that she comes on tour with him and the band. wanting to run away from everything and everyone in her small town, she agrees. queue cute ass moments on the tour bus, traveling the world and falling in love like they did when they were young. add drama, angst ( because they’re both still dumb and won’t admit to their feels) stadium tours, TENSION!!!, groupies, etc, etc.
