     —      “I WOULDN’T DO THAT IF I WERE YOU, MY DEAR,” beck said loudly, sparing only a second’s glance at the figure attempting to break free of their bonds across her tiny office. beck sat behind her desk, her boots up on the desk, and spun a dagger into a little indent on the wood. the ship bounced rhythmically under them both. when the other’s attempts didn’t cease, the captain looked up again with more contempt in her eyes. “I SAID STOP,” she warned, flinging the dagger in the other’s direction. it lodged in the wall behind them, point jammed between two planks of wood. in the silence that followed, beck leisurely got up and cross the office, her eyes locked on the other’s. 

“YOU DON’T HAVE TO MAKE THIS HARD FOR YOURSELF, LOVEY. WE CAN HAVE A GREAT TIME TOGETHER IF YOU’LL COOPERATE,” she said, pulling her knife out of the wall with one hand.
