Bri really has no sense of direction. She’d get lost in her own back garden. Maybe not that bad, but she’s been so heavily reliant on drivers and chauffeurs her whole life that her location awareness is dim. Meanwhile, please don’t ask her to give directions...

Bri has zero baggage. No traumatic past, no lost loves or loved ones, no harm was ever done to her. Her tragedy is always her present; her loss of self to work and the further it moves her away from what she desires most in life.

Star Wars Verse FYIs

Bri lives on Coruscant, but her job as a VIP client liaison for her home world’s bank (Aargau) and later (during the Imperial era) as a loan manager for the Imperial Galactic Bank sometimes has her off-planet visiting clients, directors, and project heads. 

For the Imperial Bank, she is a loan manager who works in a department that handles the Empire’s classified projects. For the projects she works on, she assesses and ensures their financial plans, determines and classifies financial risks and problems, and among other tasks, supervises and oversees credit flows.

She also works as an informant for the crime syndicate, Crimson Dawn. In part, this is because of her father’s relations with Dryden Vos, which began during the Clone Wars in his funneling scheme of selling specialty weapons on the black market and strengthened after, becoming the syndicate’s money handler. However, it is when the syndicate falls under the public leadership of Lady Qi’ra that Brianne is blackmailed into being a steady informant. Qi’ra uses Brianne’s involvement with her father’s smuggling activities and his former role with the syndicate against her (since that information would damage her family name and land her in jail).

She is -the informant- in the Imperial Bank, thus she is of great value to the syndicate and their plans against the Sith.

Brianne is an extremely wealthy, upper-class, Core-worlder. Her home planet of Aargau is a wealthy center of banking and commerce with a vast reserve of valuable metals. The saying “better poor on Aargau than wealthy anywhere else” explains the level of wealth she possesses. She works because it is a matter of family pride and expectation, not because she financially needs or wants to.

A stressed Bri is liable to leave behind her belongings. Sunnies, pens, tech chargers... She thinks she is thorough leaving hotel rooms and exiting planes, or when she departs layover destinations like Rook, but somehow it always ends up she misplaces something. For sure there is a Pirate (or maybe just a little hoarding crab) on Rook with a nice pair of oversized Chanel sunglasses and a few fancy ballpoint pens.

I so often highlight bri’s anxiety. this facet of her character is completely born out of environmental stressors. she’s a normie who grew up without hardship. remove this overthinker from her wealthy comfort zone and the nerves creep up. she does take adult measures (therapy, prescribed pharmaceuticals, etc.) to manage it when needed to function, but she is my little ball of nerves nonetheless

Reminder, regardless of verse, Brianne is always complicit in evil acts and wrongdoings.

She is not the one pulling the trigger but she won’t intervene and likely ensure (via funding and operational assurances) that others can keep pulling it. 

She will turn a blind eye. 

She even comes to care deeply about others regardless of their crimes.

On the individual level, she is kind and selfless, but in the bigger picture, she's an accomplice through and through. 

Bri is not someone to be moved to action by a cause. She’ll do things for herself, for family and loved ones, because she has no choice, but as far as a higher collective purpose such as an alliance with a “greater good” objective, it’s not for her. 

Relevant to this is her wealth and privilege means she is not motivated by money. Likewise, if oppressive power does not infringe on her rich lifestyle and perhaps even benefits it, then she'll keep on. 

Foremost, her family and its status is what dictates her desire to excel at work (the family name matters). It also puts her in a position to work for those in power (i.e. Arasaka, the Empire). Meanwhile, her father is an instigator; she initially agreed to his illegal schemes (smuggling, money laundering) out of blind “filial piety” until it became too late to back out.

As far as doubling as an informant for Crimson Dawn while working for the Imperial Bank, it's blackmail (for past smuggling and crime dealings); she doesn’t want to go to jail or ruin the family name. The syndicate's loftier goal to destroy the Sith (and thus the Empire) and free the galaxy does not move her further in expectation.

She doesn’t like change. She doesn’t like rebellion. She is complicit because she has no choice. She is a blind eye accepting her powerless place in the system. A member of the complacent masses not joining the rebellion.

Ironically, while Bri just wants to live her life, she is kept from fully doing so because of these entanglements.

Bri eats like a mouse. On most busy work days, the time to eat a full meal is short but with whatever time is allotted, she’s going to take her time even if that means working while she picks at her plate. She also eats very little. Her portions are comparatively child-sized which accounts for her thin physique. This is not to say she dislikes food or eating, she savors her meals after all. She also loves to cook and share a meal with others (food is one of her love languages). Business dinners at “Michelin Star” restaurants are also a lovely bonus to the client relations side of her gig. 

hc + ☕ for a drink-themed headcanon

A cuppa tea. Bri’s British side shines with her love of a good cup of tea. Preference is for English breakfast tea (black tea not green or herbal), hot (not iced), with or without cream or sugar (more often without). She has several cups of tea to mark segments of her day and of course, she starts her day with a cup for breakfast. It warms her hands, relaxes her mind, and allows her to slow down and collect her thoughts during what are often very busy days.

not that she has a dating life to speak of, but bri has qualms about dating men her father’s age or older, no matter how “preserved” they look. she just wouldn't.

younger men though? could do but within reason. she refuses to be like her mother. 

Appearance

Bri is both the "good girl" trope and the "girl next door" trope in terms of her more down-to-earth and unassuming appearance. She is very thin, dresses refined/classy as her class and job dictates but very modestly (always a bit of a prude), her makeup and accessories are minimal, and her heels are never too high. She dresses the part of a wealthy suit and gets glammed up a bit when needed for galas, but comparatively, she is simple/plain, beige, and covered up. She heavily dislikes drawing attention to herself and feels it detracts from being taken seriously in the workplace. 

At the same time, she does not view herself as attractive. She was occasionally bullied in secondary school by her peers for being the teacher’s pet and a rule follower and enforcer. She did have a group of good friends but popular students picked on her and called her "mouse" for her mousy brown hair, big eyes, and round face. It fed into this opinion of her looks. Granted, Bri had a glow-up in her 30s, but that belief remains. She is not used to male attention and might be clueless if someone is flirting with her (at first at least).

(my fc's appearance in such films as Mal de pierres/From The Land of the Moon (2016) and Juste la fin du monde/It’s Only the End of the World (2016), fit how I imagine the simplicity of her face/makeup and hair. Probably because she is not the male protagonist’s love interest in them. In these films, she's nearing 40 years old (though she plays someone younger and through the years in one but you wouldn't know). For reference, in my verses, her age ranges from 30s to 50s, never younger.)

Does Bri have any bad habits?

Yes.

She overthinks. She overworks. She skips meals. She relies on aids to keep going, to sleep, to calm her nerves. She often lets things continue as they are rather than trying to change them (though tbf, change is sometimes impossible). She’s selfless and sidesteps her needs/wants for others. The majority of this is circumstantial. Away from toxic work environments, she is a healthier and calmer individual with no need for aids to help her through.

Things spiral most out of control in her Cyberpunk verse, especially when the corp undergoes leadership changes in 2077. She has an unhealthy habit of using neurostims to work the expected 14-16 hour workdays and to spare time after/during work to maintain her position (which includes gathering intel on coworkers via fixers and mercs and keeping one step ahead of internal developments). In turn, this makes her need sleep pharmaceuticals to counter those effects and actually rest the few hours she has left. Throw in being extorted by a Night City gang and she's a mess. She’s even willing to take illicit drugs from her extortionist to get a good night’s rest.

In Far Cry/Modern, she has taken caffeine pills to counteract the effects of jet lag. Her constant travel wears her down. She’s tired of living out of a suitcase, losing her sense of time, and misses home, forgetting where that is as time goes on. Her poor eating habits can be seen as self-destructive.

In all verses, she occasionally needs pills to counteract anxiety and panic attacks as well as therapy. She knows when she needs help. Again, this is circumstantial. In Cyberpunk, her biomonitor and thus her life coach keeps her hormones, etc. in constant check but stress harms her in other ways. In Far Cry/Modern, the pick-ups and hand-offs of dirty cash she does for her father’s money laundering operation put her face to face with crime lords and their criminal organizations. Layovers on Rook Islands, for instance, have her witnessing the unspeakable horrors of Volker's human trafficking operation. She has to turn a blind eye, keep calm and carry on. In the future of this verse (NewDawn/post-Collapse), she’s more adjusted but age and experience does that. In Star Wars, being blackmailed into being an informant for Crimson Dawn while working for the Bank of the Empire has her constantly looking over her shoulder. 

I primarily rp her within time periods of uncertainty and heavy work stress (making me emphasize her frayed nerves). However, her happy ending in her Cyberpunk verse (where she leaves it all behind with a loving partner (@badtrigger) and builds a family), she lives as a healthy, happy, and well-balanced individual. Much of her bad habits were thus a result of how she copes with her work environment. She is still selfless and overthinks (what mother doesn't?) but the emotional support and love of her husband and children do wonders.

One verse parallel is Brianne will always end up separated from her half-sister, Vez.

In Cyberpunk 2077, Bri's dismissal from the corp sends her into hiding. Vez soon follows with Yorinobu’s coup pitting factions against each other (those in Black Ops are not spared). Vez survives but defects and lays low in the ECC. The sisters lose contact, but even so, Brianne isn’t completely sure she is alive.

In Far Cry, Bri also needs to change her identity/go into hiding when her father’s money laundering operation comes under the eye of MI6 (which lands her father in prison and Vez as an informant forced to work under an MI6 handler). The Collapse/nuclear destruction of the world happens and Brianne doesn’t know if Vez survived. She mourns her as if she didn’t. (At least in the modern version of this verse, Vez resides in Switzerland with her handler who later becomes her husband (the greatest scandal built with @peredhellen/@mindsmade forever ago)).

Her father also doesn't survive, but his death is a lot more certain (as a pre-coup casualty or killed in jail coordinated by a former client).
