THREE YEARS AGO.
It was his first time crossing through the veil since receiving his gift from Lucifer. And while there were so many things he wanted to do, hunting was especially one of them. His mind had a strong intention in mind. It was a bit of a surprise for himself, when he pieced together the destination of where his first visit was going to be. It wasn’t to stop in and check on the Salvatore School, the one he gave the money to Caroline to open. Not only that, but it wasn’t tracking down his daughter, to check and see how she had grown.
Nope, he found himself in the carved perfectly up tree that he had chosen before Hayley’s funeral. His fingertips brush along the aging wood, her name still completely recognizable. Underneath her name was Jackson Kenner, one of the most loyal wolves he had ever met. His head lowered slightly as a sigh dropped from his mouth. Throughout his immortal life, Klaus has lost many friends, enemies and more of the sort.
Nonetheless, losing the mother of his child, someone who always put him in his place when needed — one of the select few that continued to show him compassion when they should’ve walked away long ago. “It should’ve been me.” His voice came out hushed, as if he was speaking just to her. Niklaus truly believed his words, his biggest regret was not being able to save her.
Something inside of him was disgusted with the fact that he was still able to be among the living, and she was gone. “If I could find you and bring you back, I would.” His index finger traced her name as his hushed voice slightly cracked under the grief and sadness that built up inside of him. “I do miss you the most, little wolf.” As his final words disappeared into the wind, a single tear rolled down his cheeks, stepping back, he turned away, only to look back at the tree once as he went to continue on his trip — ready for the sweet iron taste of blood to grace his lips.
As he went on his way, his thoughts grew more and more clouded with flashes of blood-strained images. The hot iron stabbing sensation in his throat was enough for him to cave into the demon's cravings. With a deep sigh, his face fell blank of any emotion, a dangerous smirk twisted upon his lips as he began his killing spree.

standing in front of katherine pierce brought plenty of emotions to him. the fact that she had been the main reason that he had to wait centuries to unleash the wolf that was locked inside of him. the fact that every time he got close to her, she had found a way to manipulate someone into helping her and evading him. the history between the two was extremely complicated. oceanic hues looked at her, narrowing ever so slightly before a brief shake of his head. " what do you want katherine? a death wish?"

being back in mystic falls was nothing new for niklaus, in fact, he found himself returning to mystic falls quite often. in fact, the more that he knew that some people he was fond of resided in mystic falls, the more often he had every intention of returning. though he knew what most of the residents of mystic falls thought of him -- the greatest evil. it didn't bother him. however, he did find it quite amusing. they hadn't truly seen the worst side of him, even though they may seem certain they had.
now, had someone in this godforsaken town had truly put his loved ones in danger, it would've been a different story. as he walked into the ever so popular mystic grill, he obnoxiously cleared his throat, wanting the attention on him. he wanted the small town to begin to gossip, in truth -- he craved to have everyone know that niklaus mikaelson has yet again returned. as he made his way to the bar, a familiar face caught his attention.
" bet you thought you saw the last of me."

it wasn't that niklaus expected her to never find a boy attractive. it had everything to do with the fact, that it just bolted out of her, or so it came across that way. "this is more of a conversation for your mother." he suggested with a shake of his head. he loved his daughter more than anything in the world. he'd drop anything that had him preoccupied without a moment of hesitation for her. /@multistoty
