birth song zhizi was born in wuzhong, china to single mother, wu meilin and [redacted] father. she is an only child. childhood zhizi was always a quiet, lonely kid and being introverted never helped. as a way to help her out of her bubble, zhizi’s mother enrolled her in just about every after-school activity you can list. the only one that actually stuck was dancing. trainee while she was shopping on a holiday in beijing, she was approached by a scout from yuehua entertainment. initially, her instincts were to run away but she accepted their company card after being offered free food. zhizi officially joined yuehua in 2011 and stayed there until she left in 2012 to focus on school.

while studying abroad in seoul, she was approached by a scout from source music where she began training to be a girl group member. after hearing zhizi was a trainee again, yuehua entertainment offered her a 7-year contract where she would debut in their upcoming c-pop girl in 2015. as she was unaware of her debut with source, she accepted and later debuted as a member of c-pop group, jewel.

however, the group was mismanaged and disbanded in 2018. she stayed at yuehua until her contract ran out in early 2021. from there, she signed a contract with hybe labels and was added to 1004′s lineup in april 2021.
