Today is laundry day and unfortunately for Annaleigh, her building doesn't have laundry machines. So whenever she has to wash her clothes, she has to gather everything up and head to the closest laundry matt. Which leads to her having to call an uber to get there every time. She doesn't have a vehicle of her own yet - having sold her last one before the move.

Annaleigh stands outside of the laundry matt, holding a basket filled with her dirty clothes, her detergent, and some fabric softener sheets. She'd been staring at the door a few moments, wondering how to open it without setting down the basket. She smiles appreciatively at the boy. By the looks of things he was probably a few years younger than she was. "Thank you. You're very sweet." She holds the basket of clothes out for him to take. "This is very heavy and I don't think my back can take much more of this." she admits.

Annaleigh wore an over sized t-shirt with a long floral maxi-skirt, as she stood in the entrance way to her apartment. Messy brunette hair was pulled up into a bun, with strands of the hair hanging loose at the sides and back, as she held the door open.

It was close to the due date, and Annaleigh had decided that now would be a good time to add the finishing touches to the nursery. However, she was not going to be doing the project alone. Earlier she had received a text from Luciel, asking her what her plans for the day were. When she’d told him she was going to be finishing up the nursery, he had insisted on helping. She was thankful for the offer, and before long, he had shown up at her apartment. 

The pregnant woman smiled softly at the man who stood on the other side of the door and she stepped out of the way so he could come inside. “Hey, thanks for coming over. Though, you really didn’t have to.” She probably could’ve easily gotten the rest of the nursery done on her own, but it was still nice to have an extra set of hands. 

“If you want we can eat first? And then get started afterwards. I ordered a pizza. I hope you don’t mind meat lovers with cheese in the crust.” The pizza delivery girl had shown up shortly before Luciel had gotten to the apartment, so the pizza was still warm. She had been just about to sit down and eat when he showed up at the door.

She stands in front of the stranger, holding out a cold beverage. “I brought you some water.” Hazel green eyes are filled with worry as Annaleigh stares at them. What’s wrong with them? They don’t look so good. This person looks exhausted and she hopes they’re going to be alright. 

“Do you need anything else? Is there anyone I can call for you?” she asks. Annaleigh takes a seat next to them on the park bench. She plans to stay here with them for as long as they need her to.

The brunette smiled at his complement, using a hand to push some of her hair off to the side. Her cheeks heated up ever so slightly - the lightest shade of pink covering them. It was hardly noticeable.

She stood in her kitchen wearing nothing but an over sized t-shirt with a cartoon character plastered on the front and a gray pair of sweatpants with some comfortable, fuzzy socks adorned on her feet.

 “Hello handsome. Want some breakfast?” The woman motioned to omelets that she had attempted to make for the two of them. Each of them sat on plastic disposable plates. They were a little burnt around the edges and were a bit odd shaped, but the food should still be edible. Cooking had never been one of her best skills, but she was slowly getting better.

“There’s this thing called Girl Scouts, have you heard of them?”Annaleigh asked. The little girl that stood on the other side of Annaleigh’s door with a wagon full of cookies, just wanted to raise money for her troop. The woman had never been in girl scouts herself, but she’d seen quite a few troops selling cookies outside of retail stores in New York City back when she lived there.

Hazel green eyes looked away from the little girl and back to Luciel. “She just wants us to by some cookies.”she added. Annaleigh’s eyes shifted back to the little girl. “We’ll take a box caramel chocolate chips and a box of thanks a lots.”she told the girl.

Annaleigh had seen the little girl around the building before, she lived down the hall with her mother. She didn’t know much about them, but the mother seemed nice.

“You can try, but it probably won’t work.” The nightmares were dreadful and there wasn’t much that could really be done to get rid of them. She’d tried everything to get rid of them, but nothing seemed to work. Even if he was able to get her to fall back to sleep, she’d just have another one. That was usually what happened on night’s like this when she did manage to fall back to sleep. If she couldn’t fall back to sleep, then she’d probably just spend the rest of the night tossing and turning in attempts to get comfortable.

He was right. It was just a nightmare, but it felt so real. Like it was happening right before her very eyes. Her body trembled as she clung to Luciel. The gun shots from the dream still seemed ring threw her head and she desperately wanted to call out for her mother. She knew it was useless. The woman was in heaven right now and it would be a long time before she ever saw her again.

Tears brimmed at her hazel green eyes. She did not want to be crying in front of him. She did not like showing off weakness. Weakness was something that could easily prayed on. A hand reached up, furiously starting to wipe at her now tear stained cheeks and tear filled eyes.

“I’m --- I’m sorry you have to see me like this.” she whispered. Annaleigh turned her head away from him, in an attempt to hide her sadness.
