WHEN the word spread about a FOUL beast that had been causing TERROR in the village, it was up to the KNIGHTS to take care of it swiftly. Only a handful were tasked with keeping PEACE, and saving the innocent from destruction. BEING one of the warriors recognized for his OUTSTANDING service in the past, SHŌJIRŌ was chosen to take care of the nightly creature. RECEIVING trust in his abilities from those in power, he SWORE to not disappoint them with any shortcomings. USUALLY confident in his own prowess, the young knight began to QUESTION whether or not he and his comrades would succeed. Slaying a beast as VILE as the rumors had it was no small feat. If they wanted to come back ALIVE, they’d need more than a sword and shield in their name. GUIDED by the word of his trusted friend, SHŌJIRŌ set out to find @enigmatic-conjuration who could supposedly help him.

ARRIVING at the house seemingly made entirely out of colored glass, he dismounted from his horse. His eyes scan the area CAREFULLY, taking in the sight of the peculiar structure. He steps forward and hastily BANGS on the doors repeatedly, not being mindful of his strength. ONLY when the doors open does his hand fall to his side.

“Sorcerer, I need your help,” he says in a gruff voice, staring at the other man. “The situation is dire, and I begin to feel desperate... I will need your finest potions.”

AS A KNIGHT, his responsibility consists of keeping PEACE and fending off injustice inflicted on the poor. ABOVE ALL ELSE, his duty is to serve the prince of his kingdom and to be ready to LAY DOWN HIS LIFE for him if the need arises. Since the beginning of his VIGOROUS training, he has been made aware of the burden he would need to carry on his shoulders. By now, the mere concept had come to him NATURALLY, as if it were his second nature. His life has a purpose, and it’s merely to make sure the man next in line to the throne wouldn’t die under ANY circumstances. Thus, when faced with the young prince’s question, SHŌJIRŌ already knew the answer.

Yes, he did.

“Perchance, your highness,” the knight replies after a moment of hesitation. His answer is kept seemingly VAGUE to save face. If he were to reply with complete honesty, it might be at the COST of his tongue. “That’s not to say you are incompetent by any means,” he adds. “Nonetheless, you are still at risk of being ambushed. This is precisely why you have an assemblage of knights to make sure that you do not die.”
