to be honest, I think fandom exaggerating dream's analytical and intelligent abilities dream's plan is literally so stupid, like, many refer to it as "ignoring feelings for the sake of strict calculation, the end justifies the means blah blah blah a smart, logical plan that will nevertheless lead to psychological dissatisfaction", but the plan is literally the most ill-conceived thing I ever heard, like, that's not even a plan?? they're testing the revival book in hopes that one day it will somehow help them achieve immortality and restart the server - that's just ridiculous and I also have no idea how dream expects that restarting the server will solve his/their/servers problems, like how is that supposed to work? and this “if we are immortal, no one will have to suffer and we can live forever and know and blah blah blah” such naive crap, honestly I could ask a thousand probing questions or give a thousand reasons why this plan wouldn't work in any reality, and I doubt dream wouldn't have asked these questions in the months they've been running their tests; the plan is literally just his feelings: afraid to die → need immortality, lost everything and it's killing me → need a restart and so on - there's no analysis behind this shit
I literally find it strange not the fact that punz allows this, although the plan harms dream, but the fact that he really believes in this plan and follows it, like, come on, punz is +- fine, there is no trauma that can overshadow his ability to think, why is he indulging in this stupid idea?
strongly agree / agree / ambivalent / disagree / strongly disagree / don’t care whatsoever
I think you're conflating a bunch of things. Dream's plan is not the same as his methodology. His methodology is not the same as his motivations. Having emotional reasons for a plan is not the same thing as that plan being stupid. "lost everything and it's killing me → need a restart" isn't a description of a stupid plan, that's a description of an over-emotional motivation for a plan. Just because you disagree with what his goal was trying to achieve doesn't mean that the strategies he took to achieve that goal were stupid.
Like, take staged finale as an example. I can argue that it's overkill or a poorly considered goal to imprison himself in dangerous circumstances chiefly to achieve a) protecting his close ally b) getting the server off his back and c) getting a sick base. But I won't claim that the steps he took to set up and execute staged finale aren't evidence of someone successfully using strategic thinking to accomplish his goals, which is generally what people are talking about when invoking strategist!Dream.
Dream expecting that his plan will fix his emotional problems isn't stupid in that it's a failure of logic. It's stupid in that it's a failure in identifying that his problems are actually emotional. Which gets covered pretty handily in the genuine finale! Tommy didn't say "your plan is stupid because you neglected to consider these reasons that curing death won't actually work." Instead, Tommy said, "your plan is stupid because you're failing to see that you're hurting people here and now and you could have the friends you want here and now if you just put down your damn book and make peace." which, I'm gonna be honest, also sounds a bit like naive crap to me.
Also, you're acting as if his plan is based simply on an unspecified fear of death when all signs point to it literally being a reaction to the existence of the revival book! Like, sure, when you phrase it like "hur dur maybe this magic book will fix my problems" it sounds pretty stupid. But what actually happened was more along the lines of "permadeath didn't exist on this server as a concept, now it does. revival didn't exist on this server as a concept, now it does. maybe one of these can be used to fix the other." Which is pretty damn straightforward to my eyes!
I really, truly don't see what the problem is with "plan fix death" when you literally have a necromancy book. (Like, logistically, not ethically or whatever.) It seems like the supernatural complications with the balance of life and death, whatever XD's deal is, the server reset, Foolish and the experiments upsetting the balance, all of that, came later (and lacks its conclusion for doylist reasons). but WHY the complaint that fixing death doesn't make sense????? that's like. thing numero uno when you have a damn revival book. sorry if I'm getting carried away but I've seen this argument before and it genuinely makes no sense to me. Reads the same to me as "if you have a hammer and some wood and nails why are you trying to build a table." maybe because I have the tools for the job?
Not to mention that even if we pretended that Dream's only motivation was trying to stop conflict, the plan "learn how to revive people" is still a really obvious solution! Make conflict not have permanent consequences? that's like. an easy mitigating solution.
Also, there's a more general conflation happening here between Dream's unwellness and a more general notion of stupidity. Which I also disagree with. His paranoid spiral led to him locking himself in a prison, but that doesn't mean it was stupid for him to conclude he needed protection, and that his allies needed protection.
The thing with Punz is a separate question, but it's one that I think Punz has answered handily himself: Punz wants knowledge and power, he says so outright, in simple language. He's not indulging a stupid idea: he's in cahoots with a guy who's brought him a ton of knowledge and power. The revive book is real, it's got real results, and it's shown Punz a glimpse of a world he clearly thinks is achievable: a world in which the supernatural shit has indeed been solved. And I don't see why you think he's silly to believe so, given the evidence he's seen with his own eyes.

you know what i think. i think if Shinomori had done nothing. that none of the vestiges would have been taken.
like
the vestiges can only transfer if the living holder or they want to (see: movie 2).
But Shinomori thought that Shigaraki could steal them, so he did a "take me instead" thing. He put himself forward all like "you can have me but not the others" and since he did, that technically counts as permission, so he got stolen.
my man you should have just ducked with the others. this is what too much heroism does to someone. you own petard my guy.
if they had all ducked and dodged the hand would have just been grasping around missing them until Izuku broke contact

TW)) Suicide, illness, pain, death, self-hatred
This is your reminder that death by buttercup poisoning is a HORRIFIC way to die. Seriously, just...google the symptoms, I don't have it in me to get into detail.
Chara, when they ate those buttercups, was probably somewhere between the ages of 9 and 14. That is very young to experience such a world of pain while dying.
Chara had already SEEN those terrible symptoms in Asgore. And yes, Chara might have been trying to make their death look natural for the plan, but they could at the very least have chosen a flower with slightly less horrible symptoms. Asgore is a gardener, for goodness' sake.
There is no logical reason they would have chosen such a terrible, terrible way to die unless they were,
a. a masochist (in a not-weird way of course this is a child) (and I feel like these symptoms are a little extreme for that)
b. Getting two birds with one stone and punishing themself for the Asgore pie incident.
Again, this is a child between the ages of 9-14.
...Somebody give them a hug.

An indecent proposal
Morgan: "Now you know what the Council plans. They'll keep you separated from Ji Ho until you freak out and bite him. But no one will stop you this time. You will suck the life out of him and then you'll die due to his poisonous blood. And this time the Council will make sure that you will stay dead."
Tumblr media
Vlad: "So what's the offer?" Morgan: "Bond with me. The Coucil isn't interested in your friends. They only want your powers. No one has to die. You will soon change because you are away from your bonded and we'll have to report this. They will lock you up until it's too late. That's the only way you can save Ji Ho and your friends."
Tumblr media
Morgan: "I know you don't love me. But neither does Ji Ho love you." (Morgan has a point though...)
Tumblr media
But Vlad declined. When they arrested Ji Ho he was so calm. Even calm enough to soothe him through the bond and keep him from freaking out. Vlad doesn't trust Leander but he must have said something that convinced Ji Ho. They had a plan. Vlad was sure. He has faith in Ji Ho.
Tumblr media
So our overly self-confident Leander believes everything will be fine in the end because he worked so hard for it -> convinces our naive Ji Ho -> who makes Vlad believe they have a plan ... And the others (see Noxee+Saiwa when they said goodbye) also have faith in them but no one actually has a plan! omg! (-> The Plan)

We miss you post 🧸
Tumblr media
------------------------
Well here is a surprise for you then!! I miss posting a lot too trust me, this year has been insane, I'm trying to focus on my original novel I'm trying to write as well, but I definitely miss posting as much as I used to 🥺
this is probably literal nonsense lol, i wrote it in probably half an hour, but i've been reading a lot of mafia books lately hahaha and i took inspiration from those
------------------------
Rowan was watching her.
He’d been watching her for a while, first because of orders, and the duty he knew he had to fulfill. But more recently it’d been out of his own interest. Because Aelin Galathynius was a fascinating creature, and he’d been unable to stop himself from wanting to see what she was going to do next.
As a mafia “princess,” there wasn’t much freedom she was really allowed. But the few grasps she had, she took and ran with.
Whether it was staying outside for a little too long after being called in, trying to give her bodyguard the slip while out shopping, even foolishly attempting to steal money from her father’s account to purchase a ridiculously expensive pair of shoes.
She had to know he probably would’ve bought them for her anyway, so Rowan assumed it was about the principle of the matter. Aelin liked to make waves, when the rest of her family would rather the boat not get rocked at all.
You could say it was out of luck that their surveillance hadn’t been discovered by now, but really, Rowan knew it never would be. Connall Moonbeam was far too good at his job, and Rhoe Galathynius’ joke of a security team was far too incompetent. He almost wished they were a little better, just to make this more satisfying. It wasn’t as exciting when there was no challenge.
But the challenge would come later, when Galathynius realized what exactly they were up to.
Of course, by then it would be too late, but his rage would be delicious.
Rowan wondered what her rage would taste like, if it would be as sweet.
Narrowing his eyes, he sucked in a little more smoke from his cigar as he looked over across the water, his gaze landing on her figure immediately. Aelin was out tanning on her family’s yacht, followed by guards and not even leaving the marina, but still trying to act like she was in control. It was admirable, albeit stupid and pointless.
She had no idea he was up here, on the second deck of the boat right next to hers. He’d swindled it away from the previous owners with a threat and a well placed stack of cash, using it as another method of his surveillance. They’d make their move soon, but for now he just wanted to watch.
Rowan was sunning himself, stripped down to just a bathing suit as he laid back in his chair, set up to have the perfect vantage point. Maybe he should’ve felt like a creep, but he didn’t really give a fuck.
Her blue eyes were closed and hidden behind a pair of expensive shades, her body highlighted by a tiny white bikini that was verging on obscene. That’d been a secret purchase, he supposed. Rhoe Galathynius wouldn’t have allowed it, no matter how much his princess pleaded.
She could spend however much money she wanted, but she couldn’t wear anything that made her look like anything less than a perfect future mafia wife. Rowan wondered if she knew what was planned for her, who was planned for her, if she accepted her fate or not. He could answer that last one easily: she would never. She would get married kicking and screaming, until her parents found the right leverage, or the right incentive. Whichever would do the trick to make her willing to make the right connections.
It was the way of their world. Rowan knew it. Her parents knew it. Little Miss Princess would know it soon enough.
Movement caught his gaze, and Rowan turned his head to see a new figure joining Aelin on the back deck, watching as she sat up and smiled, moving her sunglasses so he could see those eyes of hers shining. From a quick glance, observing dark hair, blue eyes, and a million dollar grin, Rowan knew exactly who’d shown up.
Dorian Havilliard.
Another person of interest for The Cadre, though for different reasons. Rowan knew of their friendship, but he couldn’t stop his free hand from dancing along the edges of his gun as he considered if that was her intended. He could end that little problem easily right now. It would be a simple shot, and then he could slide off the boat and into his car before they even figured out where it came from.
If the previous owners of the boat tried to spill who they’d sold it to, well, Rowan was sure Lorcan would send someone to take care of it.
But he restrained himself, knowing the complications it could cause. Not for his own safety, but for their plan. It’d taken too long to get to this point already, too much death and sacrifice. Rowan wouldn’t thwart their chance at revenge for something as petty as this. Even if the thought of Havilliard dropping dead right there gave him an immense amount of satisfaction.
Still, Rowan forced his hand to relax, letting it rest back on the arm of his chaise lounge as he soaked in the sun. Havilliard wouldn’t be an obstacle for long, anyway. Nothing would.
The name - Rowan Whitethorn - wasn’t known in these circles, but his other name was. Hawk. One of the five names of the Cadre, an organization that had been causing chaos for all of the mafia families within the past year or so. All of it was very much deserved. The criminals of Rifthold were going to pay for the crimes they’d committed years ago, whether they were aware of what they’d done or not.
They’d start with the Galathynius’ and the Havilliard’s, before moving on to the Hamel and his precious Assassin’s Keep, and then finally to the one woman they all despised. All five of them were from different backgrounds, and had different reasons for this revenge. But that woman…she deserved death by all of their hands.
But that would come later. For now - it was getting close to time to steal a certain mafia princess straight out of her castle, and welcome her straight into hell.

if dream and punz were after “knowledge” above all else 👀 what(/who) stopped them from killing everyone who opposed them? Why didn’t punz kill Sam for example? Esp. toward the end when ties between people/nations weren’t as strong… I know reasons why but I would like someone else’s thoughts on it too
They weren’t after knowledge above all else though, is the thing, and their goal was not to simply kill all opposition.
Or at least Dream wasn’t: it’s easier to make an argument that Punz is a pure STEM girlie, but the thesis of the finale streams is that Dream doesn’t want pure knowledge, he wants to fix death because he wants the simplicity of his life and friends on the early server back. That's the whole point, he doesn't want to live forever on an empty server, he wants to fix the world.
He talks about a reset of the server, and importantly, he talks about how his and Punz’s experiments with the revive book have caused an imbalance that he’s realized needs to be fixed (to appease DreamXD). Dream specifically calls this a problem. In the final stream, he explicitly says he doesn't want death for everyone: he wants everyone to "live together, and be in harmony, and not have to worry about death or pain or anything, then it'll be worth it!"
And as you point out, Dream goes to lengths to keep people alive! Not only does he keep Sam alive, for lots and lots of complicated reasons--and I think that Punz has likely been barred by Dream from hunting him down or similar--he intentionally leaves Tommy and Tubbo in a trap that’s eminently escapable: he says specifically that he'd be happy with both of them leaving.

Leaked Docs Reveal Hamas-Israel 'False Flag' Was Planned in Detail By Global Elite
The Israel-Hamas war is an “inside job” by the globalist elite who working to ensure the Israeli “false flag” will light the fuse to ignite a “holy war” that will spiral out of control and lay the groundwork for the elite to usher in a “one world government” and “one world religion.”
Rothschild admitted his family created Israel as part of the great master plan for World War 3 – and now their agenda is playing out before our very eyes.
But there is just one problem for the globalist elite and their plans to enslave the human race. Their plans rely on the people of the world remaining ignorant – and we are not going to let that happen.

The Game
(Random banter, Elowen - Tav, bard. Somewhere in act 1, pre-the-night)
Tumblr media
The campfire crackled, casting flickering shadows on our faces. Astarion leaned in closer, his gaze unwavering.
I could feel his eyes on me, his presence like a magnetic force pulling me in. "You seem rather focused tonight, Astarion. Is there something on your mind?"
He smirked, a glint of mischief in his crimson eyes. "Just contemplating the enigmatic bard before me. You're like a melody, Elowen, always leaving me wanting more."
I chuckled, trying to deflect his words. "And what exactly do you want more of? "
His fingers traced a teasing pattern along the edge of my lute. "Perhaps more of your secrets, hidden behind those beguiling verses."
I glanced around at our companions, ensuring they were engrossed in their own activities. "Careful, Astarion. Some secrets are better left untouched."
His gaze never left mine. "But where's the fun in that, my dear? I thrive on unraveling mysteries."
I shook my head in mock exasperation. "You're incorrigible, you know that?"
"Guilty as charged," he replied, his voice dropping to a sultry whisper. "But I do wonder if you have any other talents hidden up your sleeve."
My cheeks flushed, and I had to remind myself that this was just our little game. "I'm a bard, Astarion. I have many talents, but not all of them are meant for public performance."
He leaned even closer, his lips dangerously close to my ear. "Ah, Elowen, you intrigue me more and more with each passing day."
Our banter continued, a never-ending dance of wit and desire. It was a dangerous game we played, one that neither of us could admit we were losing. But as the night wore on and our words grew more heated, I couldn't help but wonder where this path would lead us.
