Ithuriel Uriel

the Repository of Sin

Ithuriel is an angel, who has been given the position of "The Repository of Sin", also known as the Atrium of Sin. She is not a sinner herself, instead she is a Sin deposit for sinners, in other words, she's like a therapist friend, however she does not know and will never know the people she is taking the Sin from. The Sin comes from sinners who has repented and are on a path of redemption, Ithuriel takes this Sin and carries it like a backpack full of rocks. While those sinners will still have a track record of being a sinner, repenting leads to them becoming "pristine"

The role as the Repository of Sin means that she cannot communicate with the outside world, she can't talk to the Heavenly, the Damned or anything/one in between, she is essentially banished from Angel Society and into a life of carrying other people's past. This is a rule cast by the Angel council as a way to keep pristine happiness across the Angel Community. The RoS CAN become overwhelmed by depression and sadness, and inevitably succumb into death, the longest an angel has endured this role was 362 years, the second longest was 106 years. RoS' typically die from resignation (resigning means being executed, as the Angel Council does not want the former RoS to share their sorrows), self-execution, being overburdened or found communicating with other beings (which leads to death by execution, no exceptions from the Council).

Angels chosen to be the next RoS are not allowed to deny the request, denying the request can lead to death of said Angel. When the Council asks an Angel to be the RoS, it's less of an ask and more of a "letting you know" thing.

However, Ithuriel is not too fond of this position upon recieving the message from her lover...
