She was currently sitting in the passenger seat of her father's BMW. Laughing as she leaned out the window to call Tisha over. "We are kidnapping you, come."
Hunter rolled his eyes, pulling his wallet out his back pocket just so he could fish out fifty dollars and hand it to his sister. "For the record, I let you win. I'm aware they are annoying and gross." Hunter was on the driver's seat. Ignoring the way his sister mumbled of course you did to acknowledge his father's girlfriend instead. "Dad's birthday is in a week. We are going out to buy him shit and you have to come."

been trying to get into the writing headspace but the stress of trying to find another job has completely overwhelmed me. So I'm gonna chill this morning and tackle some things in my inbox that have been collecting dust. stressing over this isn't gonna do much so I need to sort myself out and actually relax for once.

But of course, her dear friend’s dedication and heart of gold shines through when she sees her one of her favorite flowers up front. The sight of it caused a lump in her throat; her eyes unexpectedly tearing up. Perhaps it is a good thing he wraps his arms around her—suffocated with the bouquet and all—before he could realize how much this simple gesture means to her.
“Of course. I would expect nothing less!” she laughs, wrapping her arms around him and return a gentle squeeze. “I’m more impressed that you payed attention to my foraging lessons.”

Me side eyeing ur Khiron crit: I have found the perfect person to release the idea of Sally replacing him at camp.
She would destroy him, not only for how he treats the campers but also for him gaslighting her son. (genuinely didn’t realise that he did that until I read SoFP)
Sally would be stunning at camp. Like she probably couldn’t teach the fighting or the healing like he can, but it’s not like he teaches much beyond archery. He lets the kids boss him around when it comes to medical stuff too so like...
He gets relegated to Archery instructor and assistant medic, Sally rules the camp <3
and alksdfja Yeah it really was gaslighting. That was a systematic and planned attempt to convince Percy he imagined things. The only reason it failed was Grover was bad at it.

jake/syb country song romance oooh please!
;alksdfja;ldfsjk this one was literally born earlier today and added to my drive during my lunch break, BUT: jake/syb no-cult au
joe is actually a normal preacher, john is just a regular lawyer, and jacob is the head ranch-hand on john's ranch. syb is the new girl in town, fresh from the war and moving in with her younger brother, augustine, who's a ranger and a member of joseph's congregation. anyway, syb gets a job with the sheriff's department, and joey convinces her to attend some local veterans meetings where they talk about adjusting to civilian life and stuff, just to help her get a support network. reluctantly she agrees, but she doesn't participate, just sits there and listens with her arms folded over her chest. just like a certain redheaded veteran who pulled his chair just outside the circle formation.
they see each other around town a few times (general store, spread eagle, ...around, y'know?), and eventually augustine convinces her to go to one of joseph's sunday services, where she sees, guess who. they chat a little bit in the post-service mingling and hit it off a little bit better than either expected.
anyway. flashforward a bit and syb is called in to investigate a dead body that showed up on john's ranch property. it looks like an animal attack, but eventually someone discovers some evidence that points towards either john or, more likely, jacob as being the murderer, which is where our external conflict comes in.
BUT. there's a scene that i have in my head that takes place post-the body being found but before jacob is arrested for suspicion where joseph's church is hosting some sort of evening social event that both syb and jacob are dragged to by their respective brothers, only for them to be talking and having that whole "you wanna get out of here?" moment. they sneak of to jacob's truck, go get beer, and drive up into the mountains and start a little fire. they sit on the bed of his truck, just drinking and talking and staring at the stars and well...u kno how it is. one thing leads to another and it's a good thing jacob has some blankets in his cab in case of emergencies ykwim?
#there's also a scene after jacob is let go because of a lack of concrete evidence#where he gets into a fistfight at the spread eagle because someone won't leave him alone and keeps calling him a murderer#and syb (who is thankfully off duty) is the one who's called in to come get him and she drives him back to his place#rn this concept is just some scenes vaguely strung together#but considering it literally manifested earlier today i'm not displeased with what i have so far#tysm for sending this title in a;ldfkjasdf#(and for sending one in general)#r: fragile creatures
