Alfor you love Thace don't you? Do you love Melendor? Or have you hated her? Because we ain't hearing NOTHIN about Allura's mama!

"Of course I do, Thace has been one of the rare lights in my time on the centeral fleet ship." He would never forget his first encounter, even for how minor it was.

He remained silent for several minutes before speaking. Words choosen carefully, memories picked, reasons. It was complicated and, he assumed, different to how earth handled marriages.

"Melenor and I were an arranged marriage...it is something that occurred for most high-class households, manors, and especially royals. They wanted one sarced Altean in the family at all times, for new generations. " He tapped his chin. "I was one of them.

And he had not known that, even as he grew up, ot till the first tests came about. And when he had been found out-- he wished he had not.

"You tend to not have a say in these things, Melendor had not. She was quite vocal when the adults had not been around or her advisor. I had thought she was beautiful, she was intelligent, strong, I thought many things about her. But it held nothing to stop her from..." He gave a slow but depressed shrug.

It was a long, long time ago. "You can not change things overnight, even if you wish you can. But I did love her... She was an amazing mother to Allura. She was amazing to her people." He wished things could have been different.

Alfor is an extremely skilled swordsman and has a library of combat skills under his arm. Even over the deca-phoebs of being under the galra he still contains several pieces and skills of combat. While his swordsmanship may have become rusty, one should not doubt his skills.

On the rare occasion of defense, he has caught some soldiers off-guard and sentries. He also has shown that he can still pick up an adult soldier with little effort. ((Even if he will feel slightly guilty for tossing them afterwards.))
