☾; Common traits As highborn Valyrians, the majority of the Velaryon's inherit Valyrian traits of silver-gold hair and deep purple eyes, the eyes are the strongest of these traits. Regardless of any Westerosi blood, nearly all Velaryon's are born with purple eyes, and have at least blonde or platinum hair, if not their traditional silver-gold. They are also often born with the traits and abilities of Dragonlords, even after the Dance of the Dragons, which resulted in the near-annihilation of the species.

- - - x - - - • Overview: House Velaryon came to Westeros some time before their close Valyrian allies, House Targaryen, and were amongst the first to pledge fealty to the conquerors without any protest. In fact (canonically), the mother of the Conquerors; Visenya, Aegon, and Rhaenys Targaryen, was Valaena Velaryon. A number of Velaryon's served on Aegon's council, and their close relationship and inter-marriages continued over the three centuries of Targaryen rule. During the War of Shadows, they sided with House Targaryen, but bent the knee when their side lost.

- - - x - - - Current Members • Viserys Velaryon || Anthony Head || 57 || Lord Lord of House Velaryon, he is harsh and strict, but deeply cares about his house and ensuring it's survival. Was a skilled sailor and warrior in his youth and has a medieval outlook on how things should be done.

• Jaecaerys Velaryon || Dan Stevens || 31 || heir Eldest son of Lord Velaryon, contracted Greyscale in his youth and is now reaching the final stages of the illness. Deeply kind and loving, almost the exact opposite of his father.

• Shiera Velaryon || Noémie Schmidt || 24 || presumptive heir In manner, she is very much her father's daughter, and is doing everything in her power to secure her place as heir to the title of Lord of House Velaryon, even as her father tries to pass her over for her son.

• Lucerys Greyjoy || n/a || infant || Shiera's newborn son, too young to have a personality.

• Gerold || William Fichtner || 60 || Maester Was responsible for the education of all the Velaryon children, including the bas.tards.

• Rohanne || Joanne Froggatt || 38 || Septa A newer addition to the household (in comparison with Maester Gerold), primarily responsible for the care of Jaecaerys Velaryon.

- - - x - - - Plotting suggestions - the former (or current) lady of House Velaryon, mother to Aurane, Jaecaerys, and Shiera - mother to Falia Waters (can be a highborn lady or a servant in your household) - a former house for Maester Gerold and Septa Rohanne (as when either take their vows, they renounce their surname, but that doesn't mean they renounce their relationships, especially in the world of ice and fire) - everyone is open for affairs (current and historic), except for Lucerys, as he's just a baby. - a betrothal for Jaecaerys which the betrothed house (maybe including or not including his betrothed) are very keen to break, seeing as he's dying. -- taken
