Please do not start your essay with “Music has always been a big part of my life.” I get it. It’s the start of every. single, fricken, essay. And I know I probably made the same mistakes when I was writing mine.
She still gets quite a bit of credit, but compared to other living composers of similar caliber, I don’t think Jennifer Higdon is discussed enough. I haven’t really heard her works brought up at all in any of my composition classes.
