Buttttttt........he figured that it wasn't a big problem and since the figure or ghost didn't hurt anybody and it was just him that it would be alright.But after that, he noticed that he could feel things again like the warmth of his master when his master slung his arm over his shoulder and could taste things like the food Gusu cooked when he was invited over to Jingshi by Wei Wuxian,(which he was pretty sure the Lan Wangji didn't want him to be there).After this happened for a couple of days he decided that that ghost that he ran into did something to him and now he has most of his feeling back.
He was glad and was going to tell his master but then he decided not to.What if he wasn't able to protect him anymore because he could feel things now?What if his master had no use for because he wasn't "a man made of steel"?So he decided to keep this secret to himself.Though he knew it was going to be hard to keep a secret from his mater, he couldn't tell him.So now he is the only one that knows about this.
