Kevin Gates. He is severely underrated by the rap community. He gets 10s of millions of views every time he releases a new track, yet I never hear anyone put him in their top ten. Well I guess with this track he has creeped into one of my top ten favourite rappers.

The sample of Dermot Kennedy’s “Power Over Me” makes this track sound very romantic, with Kevin singing along with the voice of someone that cannot sing well but one that has been overwhelmed with emotion. Kevin’s verses set a sexual scene but one that sounds very mature. Kevin is able to switch flows without it feeling weird or jammed in as well as the way he pitches his voice. To put it simply.. playlist worthy

This album encapsulates the fun of pop whilst also having enough originality to not make this pop album sound corny or forced. Perfect for someone who needs to listen to new music but doesn’t want anything too experimental or strange :)

I remember 3 years ago, when I was 15, listening to this and watching the video and being incredibly freaked out. Three years later the song and its video popped back into my head. So I rewatched the video and thought that it was very artistic and thought provoking. I’ve since listening to the album and love how vaulrable it feels, although I cannot speak Spanish, it really strikes a cord with my emotions and Arca’s production is astonishing :) I absolutely love this song and just wanted to share
