I was watching a video about hulkbuster armour (shout out to comics drake) and one of the commenters said it only exists for people to destroy it to prove how powerful they are. I think the DC equivalent of this is Lady Shiva. While some writers see her as a character with her own goals and motivations in so many stories she's plopped in so the MC can fight her to look super cool and strong. Even if they really should not have won that fight.

What gets me most about these stories is the writer makes no effort to even consider why Shiva would waste her time interacting with, to her, a rando.

Okay there are so many things wrong with Robin: Wanted but one of the funniest mischaracterizations of Cass by Adam Beechen is just how much of a yapper she is. Like she will not. stop. talking.

I swear Beechan could not have possibly skim read more than 3 issues of Batgirl because how could you possibly you conclude that she'd be the type of person to bust out an evil monologue.
