“I don’t feel so good”
Inspired by this amazing post by @iwhumpyou. I hope it’s okay I used this idea!
TW: Emeto centric because that’s my thing.
“I don’t feel so good.” Mumbled, with a pout across the face. Head tucked into their neck. Arms wrapped protectively around the tummy.
“I don’t… feel so good.” Voice is thick from nausea. Little hiccup and swallow in between as they suppress the urge to be sick.
“I don’t feel so good.” Slurred. Eyes drooping shut as they lean into the touch of the caretaker checking for a fever.
“I don’t feel so good.” Hazy. Eyes unfocused. Swaying on their feet, about to collapse in someone’s arms.
“I don’t feel so good.” Classic green-faced, hand over their mouth. Desperately looking around for a place to throw up.
“I…don’t feel so good.” Hesitant. Flushed cheeks. Finally admitting defeat after countless denials.
“I don’t feel so good.” Groaned and muffled. Their head in their hands, rubbing their eyes. Fatigued, drawn-out speech.

Can I get an unexpected sick atsumu that is at home from school with his brother after sleeping in. Their mother had the day off and didn’t feel like going anywhere so she allowed them to stay home. Maybe in the middle of the afternoon Atsumu starts to feel strangely sick but he hoped it would pass if he took a nap. He slept on the top bunk while Osamu plays video games on the bottom when he sudden wakes up without warning and starts to projectile spew. Caretaker Mom (cause I need some sweet momma content) and Osamu being supportive and understanding.
Thanks for the request!!
I answered here on my main blog @splendidly-secret-sick-fics !!

Hi! First of all I want to say that I really love your blog! I just can't get enough of sick fics. They're the best. Second I just wondered if you would consider writing something with daisuga? It's totally okay if you don't want to do that. Have a nice day/night or whatever it is when you read this! :)
You’re so nice!! Thank you a million times over.
I wanted so badly to fulfill this request, but I just can’t figure out how to write DaiSuga :’( I love them, but I’m not quite there yet. Maybe I’ll come back to this!
In the meantime, check out this post on my main blog @splendidly-secret-sick-fics for some DaiSuga recs!

Hi anon!!
Thank you for the request. I got really invested in it and it inspired me to start a hq single-dad series on my ao3, which is a separate account from this one (hence why this and @splendidly-secret-sick-fics are, well, secret!)
If you wanna dm me over at @splendidly-secret-sick-fics , I’ll give you the link to that when I post it. Sorry! I just don’t want to publicize that account :) I promise I’ll keep you anonymous as well!

"A, i'm not feelin' so good..." B groans from their position sprawled out on the couch, completely undressed for the event they're supposed to attend in less than an hour. A, who'd been obsessing over everything being perfect for this event, immediately turned to them.
"What?! No, you can't be sick, we have to go to [event] in less than an hour; mandatory attendance!" They practically slapped B they felt their forehead with such vigor, clicking their tongue. "You don't seem hot to me." B chuckles.
"Ouch."
"I mean you're well enough to go. Now get dressed, we don't have much time." B rolls their eyes but gets up, heading to their room to change.
~
As they pull up to the event, B feels considerably worse; their clothes feel too tight around their aching body, they were starting to feel lightheaded, and they were horribly tired. If it weren't for the buzz of the people gathered around they were sure they'd be out like a light. Nonetheless, they trudged along behind A, who had already made their way into the crowd and was greeting people B was sure they didn't even know.
The evening progressed and B continued feeling worse, their head spinning and aching and cold sweats starting to run down their face. They felt like they could feel each vibration of everyone's voices mashing together and beating against their skull, and everyone's body heat turning the room into a sauna. They searched for A, but couldn't find them in the whirring sea of faces and sounds. Everything was moving around and around in circles and why was everyone so loud and hot and uncomfortable and they feel like they can't breathe and the world's spinning and where's A oh god where's A they don't feel good-
A was bouncing around from conversation to conversation. They had almost completely forgotten about B feeling unwell earlier, especially after losing them in the crowd and assumed they were socializing and would find them later on. Turns out they would find them sooner than expected because they heard a large commotion on the other side of the room, followed by someone shouting their name. They went over to find B hunched over a puddle of vomit on the floor in the middle of a circle of people, all making various sounds of shock and disgust.
"B!" A pushed their way through and crouched down next to B, only to lean away as another wave of vomit burst from their lips, and A noticed tears falling down the other's face. Poor thing... A really should've listened.

Just…the word “miserable” in a sickfic context. Especially for sickies who aren’t outwardly so, but the caretaker can tell whenever they go in to check on them that they feel really, really awful

Don’t get me wrong, I love a character who feels nauseous unexpectedly and makes a mess all over themselves, the floor, the bed, etc. But, I also love a character who feels it coming and spends a long ass time hovered over the toilet, waiting for it to happen while occasionally spitting and/or burping. Bonus points if their knees start to bruise because they’ve been kneeling on a hard floor all night.

The most difficult thing (for me) is knowing exactly what type of little sounds a character is making in an emeto scene and having literally no words to describe it. Like I can HEAR it in my head but I’ll be damned if I don’t end up writing “he made a gagging sound”.
And (unpopular opinion?) I CAN NOT bring myself to write it out phonetically like “Uuurrrrp” or “Bluuurrg”. I just can’t do it. It’s like the writing equivalent of nails on a chalkboard to me.
I had an English teacher tell me once that the less you describe something the more the reader fills in for themselves so maybe saying “he made a gagging sound” is fine because as a reader we all know what that sounds like and are already thinking of the exact sound I wanted to describe anyway without having to describe it at all…

Favorito Feeling Sick Positions/Reactions
When a character is sick and he has an arm draped over his eyes while laying down, bonus for the other over his stomach
When they have a migraine and they’re pinching the bridge of their nose trying to stop the pain or rubbing their forehead/ temples or massaging the back of their neck
When a hand is on his upset stomach trying to massage it or something especially lying down
Laying down on a desk with their eyes closed arms either under the head or wrapped around their middle
Rubbing his chest from indigestion/acid reflux/nasty burp with a pained expression
Hand over mouth because they feel nauseous
Hand over top a caring character’s hand on his stomach~
I guess that’s all•

Whump prompts or ideas for parents with a newborn baby/toddler? *trying to write an angsty/whumpy fic where my ship are new parents and all my inspiration has dried up, grrrrr*
Sleep deprivation from taking care of the baby means they get snappish with each other or causes a household accident, like cutting themself while making dinner
One gets in a car crash on the way to pick up baby supplies from the store. The other calls, annoyed that the supplies aren’t back yet, only to hear they’re at the hospital
One gets sick and doesn’t want to expose the baby, so now the other has to juggle caring for the baby by themself while also caring for their sick and miserable S/O.
One is a sympathetic vomiter, so when the baby doesn’t feel well and spits up, they struggle not to puke too.
One of them panics, thinking the baby has been kidnapped, but it turns out the other took them somewhere without thinking to tell them (or maybe they actually have been kidnapped, depending on your preference!)
(Please tag me or put it under the tag “whumpster prompts” if you use it, I want to see!)

A sick whumpee is just getting out of a warm bath, with the caretaker’s help. They’re trying to take it slow because the whumpee is achy and weak, but before the whumpee has a chance to even stand they’re forced to scramble frantically out onto hands and knees and get their head over the toilet now.
As they start throwing up, the caretaker gets down with them on the wet floor. “Oh, honey, I’m sorry…I’m sorry, just get it all out,” they murmur sadly, toweling the whumpee’s drenched, shaking body down.

Okay, but you know what I rarely see? Hypothermia whump, and it is a damn shame. Think of all the possible.
1. The whumpee so cold that they can barely form a coherent sentence and the caretaker has to help get them warm, but it is so hard to figure out what happened because the whumpee can’t form a sentence. They lay in bed together, stripped down to the thinnest layers that cover the least so the whumpee can get warmer quicker. Or maybe they have to cuddle in a pile of blankets near a lit fireplace.
2. The whumper leaves the whumpee out in the snow, chained up till the whumpee is on the verge of hypothermia, only letting the whumpee back in after the whumpee beggs on their knees. Only to submerge the whumpee in a hot bath(and if you know what it’s like to step into a warm bath when you were cold, you’ll know that hurts like a bitch, now imagine you were on the verge of hypothermia)
3. The whumpee gets trapped in an avalanche which skiing, and the caretaker is able to get them out of the snow but they can’t get back till morning, luckily they find an abandoned cabin but the whumpee is so cold and the caretaker has limited resources to try to warm them up.
4. The whumpee escaped from the whumper, only to be running away in the snow, with little clothes and flimsy shoes. they may succeed, they may find their friends who are there to warm them up and take them to the hospital. Or the whumper may catch them, who know what could happen if the poor whumpee is caught...
And so many more
You’re preaching to the choir! Hypothermia whump is one of my favorites ❤️ My favorite is when the whumpee is just bordering on going comatose because the hypothermia’s shutting them down and the caretaker has to try to keep them awake/drag them to safety and warmth asap, but they’re losing time

A reluctant whumper and whumpee who have to keep up a charade of despising each other if they want to fit in/survive in their cruel, grueling environment. Other whumpers are always watching to see that they meet the standards.
Whumpee’s forgiveness and understanding in their eyes every time Whumper “punishes” them in front of others. Whumper breaking down with guilt as soon as they’re behind closed doors, not knowing how much longer they’ll be able to stand doing this. Whumpee warning/pleading with them not to pull their punches next time; the others are getting suspicious.

Whump Prompt #96
A feverish whumpee found sobbing on the floor, tangled in sheets, unable to get away. Between sobs, gasps, and whimpers, the caretaker pieces together that the whumpee thought they were being tied up by their tangled blankets and they hate being tied up, they can’t move, and they can behave, and they want the caretaker, where is the caretaker? Please, they’re so sorry, they just want their friend to come back. Whatever they did, they’re sorry

Sickfic Prompts/Starters
“If you need something, just holler. Or cough really loudly if that’s easier.“
"If you mention food one more time, I swear I will eviscerate you.”
“We need to get you into a different shirt. You’ve already sweat through that one.”
“Please just don’t—don’t touch me.”
“What the hell are you doing on the bathroom floor at 3 in the morning?”
“I really can’t eat that right now. It’ll just come right back up.”
“I could probably fry an egg on your forehead. That’s how high your fever is right now.”
“Is that my sweater? I’m going to have to burn that thing now that you’ve contaminated it!”
“I know you’re exhausted, but you need to stay awake right now. I gotta get some medicine in you.”
“Please just sit down. You’re swaying on your feet right now.”
“I feel thoroughly disgusting.”
