Green-Eyed Garvez
"Baby Girl, come give me some of that sugar." Luke heard the deep voice ring across the bullpen and looked up. The case file could wait. Who the hell talks like that? He took in a slightly familiar man and was trying to place him when the voice that haunted his dreams brought him on high alert.
"Your wish is my command!" His head whipped around to see Penelope sashaying her way to this mystery man. He almost saw red as he heard the man reply "That's a good girl" and then smother Penelope in a hug. He felt like punching a wall. Which was odd. He had the sudden urge to drag his girl away from this man and kiss her. His girl? Kiss her? He didn't know where that came from. `
"I take it you've never met Derek Morgan?" Rossi's smooth voice brought him back to the moment. He watched as Penelope relaxed into this Morgan character's loose hold around her waist. No, he had Not met Derek Morgan and the idea was looking less appealing by the second. The day proceeded to get worse from there as Emily took over the room "Alright everyone, wheel's up! Everyone will be excited to know Derek is coming back to consult with us on this case." He heard Penelope's high-pitched shriek of excitement. His hand clenched.
*********************
"Baby girl, behave, you're on speaker,"
"Or what, you'll spank me?"
Luke was gonna kill Morgan. Or maybe Penelope. He couldn't understand- his jaw dropped at every other word of their repartee while the rest of the team acted like it was the most normal thing in the world. No. He had not met the infamous Morgan. It seemed that he and Penny's conversations had only gotten worse with 'Newbie' coming back with a vengeance whenever she remembered he existed.
"What do you think Luke?" Morgan, along with the rest of the team, looked at him with an expectant gaze. Shit. He definitely did not hear a word that had just transpired.
"Come back to me on that."
The whole team burst out laughing.
"Luke! You're supposed to be on my side- you've been personally providing me most of them anyway!" Penny protested from the monitor. Luke. She had called him Luke. Now Morgan was looking at him funny. Wait a minute, what was going on?
"Look baby girl, it's getting to the point there is barely space for the computers on your desk, I'm just saying you could take a few home." Ah, now Luke understood. He hadn't missed much about the case, apparently, he had just missed a heated conversation about Penelope's collection of assorted nick-nacks on her desk. Penelope herumphed from the other side of the screen. Luke sighed. He had a feeling it was going to be a long case.
********************
"So, you gonna tell me why you don't like me?" Luke's gaze cut over to Morgan and his eyebrows rose. They were wrapping up after three days in Miami and Luke's mood had only soured. Three days of baby girl. Three days of innuendos and soft laughter directed at a man other than him. If he thought he'd been missing out on a side of Penelope, he now realized just how much he wanted. He had to approach this carefully.
"I'm glad we have the extra help," Luke replied with as much of the truth as he was able to muster. Derek really had been nice to have on this case.
"Luke man, you've said maybe five words to me over three days. Half the time you look at me you're grimacing." That was because half the time Derek was flirting with Penelope… wasn't this guy married? How did she handle this?
"Hey, sorry to make you feel that way. Honest mistake. I've just been distracted."
"Distracted?"
"Yeah."
"Okay, it's just I met a different man than the one Penelope mentioned in our conversations." Morgan had his attention with that.
"Wait, what did Penny say?"
"Penny?"
"What?"
"You just called her Penny." That awful glimmer of a profiler's realization came into Morgan's eyes. Shit. Why did he always get like this with her?
"Um, yeah that's her name isn't it?" Wrong move. He shouldn’t have acknowledged the taunt; he should have brought the focus back to the case. Shit.
"No, actually it's not. No one calls her Penny. Except for you apparently."
Like he thought… shit.
***********************************************
Derek Morgan was going to be the death of him.
"Okay Baby girl, work with those magic fingers of yours real fast and get me that address," Morgan's voice had dropped an octave as he ordered around Penelope. Luke swore he heard him growl once. Luke was thoroughly ready to dispatch the man at this point, punch him at least, but held back for the sole reason that Morgan was married to a wonderful woman. Also, he didn't think Penelope would be happy with him punching her best friend and the father of her precious godchild.
What Luke didn’t know was that Penelope was just as confused as he was to Morgan's over-the-top flirting… I mean they had always had a zing but this was getting a little ridiculous. Luke didn't hear her reply back.
"My dear gorgeous soul friend, what is going on with that mouth? I love our banter but… are you working through something?"
"Listen Chicka, just trust me and get me that information before I make you obey." Penelope thought she heard a cough in the background. Flustered she sent over the address. "Thanks, Baby Girl, also Alvez says hello." Penelope heard the coughing resume before Derek ended the call.
"You know, you could go a bit lighter with the baby girls" Luke couldn't keep the words from falling out of his mouth.
"Huh? Penelope thrives on it. I can't confirm or deny it but I thought I saw it tattooed on her hip once." Morgan had the audacity to smile as Luke saw red. A f*cking tattoo? On her hip? His mind was spinning.
"Wait... What do you mean you saw it?"
*****************************************
That's it. Luke had counted: it had been three Newbies, two Newbsters, and a hell of a lot fewer calls to him. Fewer times he got to hear her voice. He had lost count after the fifteenth baby girl but fortunately the twist in his stomach every time he heard it was dissipating. He knew Morgan and Penny were close, he just wasn't used to the near phone sex they had while working a case. He knew Morgan made her happy and that is what mattered. Or at least that was what he kept telling himself. They were finally arriving back at Quantico and he could not wait to see her.
"Welcome back my lovelies!" Luke's eyes shifted at the sound of Penelope's voice not muted by screens or phones. They proceeded to narrow in on the amount of leg her skirt of the day was showing. He couldn't help but recall his early conversation with Morgan. Baby Girl. Huh. He kept attempting to tear his eyes away but was failing.
"Oh Momma, you didn't tell me you'd be serving us something so sweet when we got back," Derek spouted before nearly picking Penny up off the ground in the hug he gave her. Luke's face heated as he watched Morgan's hand drift a bit lower… and a bit lower. What the f*ck? This guy was married right? Luke was getting frustrated he kept having to ask himself that. Morgan's hand crept down another inch before Luke went into motion.
"Hey Man, don't you have a report to start on?" Luke regretted the aggravation in his voice but couldn't control it. He really had been trying to be nicer to Morgan. Before he knew it his feet followed his voice and his hand was resting on Morgan's shoulder gentling untangling him from Penny. Garcia's face was scrunched as if she were trying to figure something out, as Morgan chuckled. The rest of the team stood awkwardly as Penelope gathered her thoughts.
"Hey, guys let's do drinks at Benny's in thirty? Then we will be able to catch happy hour!" Penelope tried not to let her voice wobble but she was still a little confused by Derek's behavior. She spun around to go to her office and was too lost in her own mind to hear the footsteps that followed close behind her.
*******************************************
Penelope had just stepped a few feet toward her desk before the door slammed shut behind her. She whirled around to find Luke looking at her with heat in his gaze. She couldn't imagine what she had done to make him angry. Her confusion easily lead to annoyance as uncomfortable emotions often did when confronted with this hunk of a man.
"What can I do for you, huh? The case is closed," She sounded off. Her voice was high and had a scratch to it that she wasn't used to.
"Is it true, huh?" Luke's words gave her pause.
"Um… what?"
"Penny, Is it true? Do you have a tattoo?" Penelope's mind froze. She thought of the small flower that sat at the bottom of her spine. She gulped. How the hell did Luke know about that?
"Um… um… that's not your business?" She sounded like she was asking the question more to herself than to Luke. Something hot shifted in Luke's gaze. She watched it trail from her eyes to her collarbone to her chest before swiftly moving to the side of her hip. Luke's fingers curled into a fist.
"Like hell it is." Then Luke was moving towards her. His hand came to cover at the hem of her dress. A flame began to zip up her thigh as she realized just how short it was. "Penny, please, tell me this is okay." Luke's voice was pinched and desperate. His gaze was locked onto his hand as if merely looking at it would keep it in place. Penelope felt hot, hot all over. She didn’t know quite what Luke was asking for but she wanted to find out. She nodded emphatically until she realized Luke wasn't watching her.
"Um... Yes," She squeaked. That was apparently all Luke needed as he dropped to his knees and his hands pressed heavily down on her thighs. Her breath came out in a woosh. She struggled to get her body to inhale again as Luke began to run his hands firmly up her legs raising her dress as he went. With steady and unabashed confidence his gaze followed. Penelope's mind was stumbling around. A part of her wanted to be embarrassed. A part of her was confused beyond belief. And the biggest part of her was catching flame with an odd sensation pooling in her lower tummy. A very un-coworker feeling for a very un-coworker situation.
Before she knew it Luke had made it to her underwear. Oh, dear. They were a standard set and for some reason, her mind was wishing the floral pattern was actually lace. But Luke wasn't looking at them... He was tracing… her outer hip? His finger toyed with the edge of her underwear and pulled down gently, exposing her peachy skin underneath. He let out a relieved breath, causing a shiver to shoot up her spine before turning her slightly and doing the same thing to the other side. Luke let out a strangled "Thank you God" and Penelope just stood there with her mouth gaping slightly. Luke's thumb began an instinctual circle on her right hip and she gasped at the sensation. Luke's gaze whipped up to her. What was she going to say? What was he?
**************************************
Oh blessed Lord above… what situation had he gotten himself into? He had been seeing red up until this point. He needed to get confirmation that Penny… his Penny… hadn't marked herself for Morgan. Whatever part of him that was possessive couldn't be turned off over this- merely placated. And now. Now he was on his knees before Penelope with her nearly bared before him. A groan lodged itself in the bottom of his throat. It was too much. He let his forehead drift to rest on her abdomen it was a comfort against him. He heard her breathing grow shallow. Then her voice broke the moment.
"Luke?" She called him Luke. "I appreciate the uniform inspection, but we are going to be heading out with the team soon?" her voice broke in the middle and he realized his grip had tightened when she said 'we'. He forced himself to breathe a few calming breathes before painfully standing up-keeping his hands on her hips the whole time.
"Penny, I'm sorry, I just… You know what? Screw it." And then Luke was kissing her.
*****************************************
After what had to be the most sensual experience of her life Luke Alvez was kissing her. Luke Alvez was kissing Penelope Garcia. Luke's mouth was thorough and demanding. One hand was still gripping her hip and the other had drifted up her body to bury itself in her hair. Penelope couldn't help but moan against Luke's mouth. Fireworks were going off in her heart right now. Luke responded by moving to grasp her ass and pull her closer. She gasped and Luke took her mouth. He was deep and persistent. He was everywhere and she was melting against him. She never had gotten the way women in movies seemed to swoon until this exact moment. She, Penelope Garcia, was swooning and she couldn't be happier. Luke broke the kiss to breathe and their eyes met full of heat and a zing that felt familiar and brand new all at once.
"Lord Penny, you are gorgeous," Luke let out. He seemed to be debating kissing her again-- she wouldn't mind-- but a knock came from the door. "One second!" Luke shouted before he gently backed away. He took a moment to smooth her hair and straighten her dress before giving her ass a reassuring pat. Somehow that put her in motion and she floated over to her chair as Luke opened the door.
******************************************
Morgan stood on the other side of the door. Luke saw him eye Penny and he glanced over to see what Derek saw. Ah hell. Her hair was not quite together and there had been nothing Luke could do to hide her pink and swollen lips. Morgan looked back to Luke and nodded, then walked deeper into Penelope's office. A core part of Luke wanted to move between them but he stood still and forced himself to relax.
"Hey Garcia," thank heavens it wasn't Baby Girl, "just wanted to come check in on ya. I know this has been a weird week but I was just making up for lost time, ya know? Besides I was trying to give the team a little push." Morgan glanced sideways to Luke as he ended his thought. Penelope's absently nodded along. There was no getting an intelligible response from her now. Maybe never again. Luke could have broken her. Looking at that sweet nod Luke couldn't help but chuckle. Penelope's gaze snapped to him and she watched him swagger closer before patting Morgan on the back.
"You know what? It's been good to have you on the team. I know Penny enjoyed it as well," Her heart skipped a beat as Luke's nickname fell from his lips. Her heart also warmed to the friendly moment between the two-- secretly she had wanted them to get along. Both men went back to fondly looking at Penelope-- one began planning their first date and one planning on how he was gonna tell Savannah about the new development in their best friend's life.

A Misunderstanding and A Kiss
"Penelope…." Luke shook his head as he started to grin. "It wasn't me who said it." The fiery tech specialist narrowed her eyes and crossed her arms as she leaned forward. She was not the one for patience. In her mind it didn’t matter who said what, it was the fact it was uttered in the first place. Him pointing out her logical fallacy wasn't helping.
"Listen Newbie, a kiss would never happen between us. It just wouldn't be possible. Meddling backwards sheriff." She whipped back around and walked toward her desk. Her statement perked Luke's interest as he moved forward into her office, as if his actions were not his own, and shut the door behind him. This had all began earlier when the team was gearing up to start a day filled with paperwork and research for potential cases. Coffee and donuts in the briefing room was always a great way to kick off such a long day… police officers were not the only ones with a particular taste for them. No sooner than the box of donuts had been opened than Rossi felt the need to share a message from Dalton's sheriff who they helped with a serial killer a few days ago. While the team found Rossi's words hilarious, Penelope did not.
************************************************************************************** "Did you know," Rossi brought everyone's attention to him as he reached for his coffee. "That the county sheriff from Dalton gave me a message to pass along to one Agent Alvez?" His brow raised and a small smile brought out the mischievous undertone to his words.
"I have a message?" Despite the jovial cadence to Rossi's words, Luke was still unsure why they would have a message for him. He couldn't imagine why a message would need relayed unless it was to voice a complaint. Everyone hung on Rossi's next words. Luke found himself beginning to fidget.
"Oh all is well my boy, this particular message I found… enlightening. In fact, I am curious to see what you have to say-"
"My dear sweet Rossi, please! What is this message!" With a surprising amount of care shining through her words, Penelope voiced what everyone was thinking. She could not endure Rossi skirting around the subject. She could only imagine the curiosity building in Luke as well if his fingers tapping on the table weren't enough of an indicator.
Rossi chucked and looked over at Luke. "Alright, the sheriff was very impressed with Agent Alvez's work, however he was curious why he used his work phone to bicker with his wife. He said in polite terms he thought that the Bureau should be aware and Agent Alvez should be encouraged to use his personal phone for personal calls, preferably not in the middle of a case either."
At this the whole team sat quiet while Rossi just grinned like the devil himself had offered him a fiddle. For a room full of profilers none of them could have anticipated that sort of message from the sheriff. What made it more confusing is that none of them used a work phone: they usually used their personal cells for communication on a case. All sensitive information came across on their tablets.
"This seems obvious, but Luke isn't married." Reid supplied. Everyone was confused.
"Luke, are you seeing someone?" Emily questioned trying to make sense of the message, Luke was quick to reply.
"No, gosh, no… I don't know why he would think that. I mean I don’t have a work phone… and I don’t call anyone on cases?" Luke was set at ease with the fact it wasn't too harsh of a reprimand and was trying to connect who the sheriff thought he was talking to. The only person any of the team members called frequently while on a case was Garcia.
"I didn't think so." Rossi's grin widened, "That is why I informed the sheriff that he had nothing to worry about and that you were just in communication with our lovely tech specialist. What I found hilarious was his words after that. He said, and I quote 'Well then the boy should put a ring on whoever his Garcia is. If he is going to work so hard to appease her, he might as well get a kiss or two for it.' end quote." At this the entire team started laughing while Penelope jaw dropped open. She personally was a little upset for the poor sheriff's view on marriage, but even more so Rossi had just brought the image of her kissing Luke to the forefront of her mind. Her imaginative mind that was harmlessly flirtatious on a good day and on a bad… she glanced over at Luke and immediately the two made eye contact. He just smiled, his infuriately charming smile, and turned to Rossi.
"The sheriff did seem like a smart man. He could have gone into business with that advice." Luke set the team off laughing again. Penelope tried to join in but what was meant to be a laugh was actually a disgruntled huff. Luke's gaze flew back to her at the sound but the conversation was already moving on. Before long it was time to dive into the work day and Penelope headed back to her office with Luke in toe. He could tell his joy-filled coworker, the same one that gave him hell day to day, needed him to check in. He could almost hear her mind thinking.
*************************************************************************************
"And why couldn't we kiss?" Luke was speaking before his mind could filter his words. Lord, he had meant to make sure Penelope didn't hold this against him and it seemed he was now on a one man mission to make it worse. Penelope had just reached her chair as his words prompted her to face him once again. Unease settled into her chest as she struggled to reply.
"Well Newbie," She paused as she let her whirling mind calm enough to formulate a cohesive sentence. Her hand arched into the air, "we couldn't kiss because, ah, because we wouldn't be able to stop laughing. I mean you kiss me? It just… well you know what I mean."
Luke raised his eyebrow, "Laughing, huh? That's usually not my style."
"I mean us Luke. I mean you and me. We couldn't even last a minute." Penelope almost groaned in annoyance. Now Luke just wanted to be infuriating. And a minute? Lord they wouldn't even make it to the kiss.
"You're wrong."
"What?."
"You're wrong Penny." Penelope's whirling mind stuttered to a rest. Her thoughts were frozen "I bet you we could. In fact, I challenge you to it. Then you'll know you're wrong."
Penelope was trapped. Part of her was still threatening shock, part of her was feeling very competitive, and part of her (a larger portion than she would admit) wondered what it would be like to kiss him. As crazy as is was.
"Okay," Penelope forced her mind to stop thinking as she walked over to Luke. She was confident his words held no real bite behind him. If he could play cool so could she. "Okay, Husband, try and kiss me."
Penelope let her words take on a mocking tone as she referenced the false assumption of the sheriff earlier. What she didn't know was the small kick to the chest her words inflicted on Luke. Husband. That word floated off of Penelope's lips and stole a breath from him. As she was drawing close there was a part of him stretching awake. A primal one that felt protective and on fire and couldn't stop seeking her eyes. The same part of him that followed after her to check in, yet this time it was somehow larger and deeper in ways he couldn’t articulate. He didn't have the time too. Penelope was walking toward him, a teasing smile firmly in place. He wanted to take that smirk off her face. He wanted to kiss that smile of her face.
So he did.
Just as Penelope got within a few feet of him, he reached out and planted a hand firmly on her side. He jerked her toward him. She fit snug against his broad chest. He felt the curve of her breasts, which were now pushed up turning Penelope's modest work dress into a more scandalous piece. He felt her breathing change as he caught her eye. The smirk was still there but her eyes… her eyes were wide with desire and uncertainty.
He twisted them around, one arm around her waist, and another reaching up toward her head as he pushed her back against the door. Then his lips were on hers. His hand was cradling her head as her lips gave against his. She was melting into him further. His heart swelled with emotion as he felt her respond to his touch. Penelope felt a shiver run involuntarily down her body as his lips moved languidly against hers. He was in firm control of this kiss, guiding her from one soft moment to a more forceful one. His hand moved from her waste down softly grabbing her lower curves. She somehow was brought even closer to him and Penelope gasped, opening her mouth. She felt Luke's tongue gently sweep against hers as he took the time to deepen the kiss. It was intoxicating, kissing him like this. Finally, just after she let a soft moan, Luke pulled away with a pleased hum. One that clouded her brain and she felt herself leaning into him, searching for more. Eventually though, Luke pulled back. His gaze met hers. Penelope struggled to say anything.
"Well, Luke, I'm not, um, I'm not laughing." Is what she settled on. She couldn't read him. Was this still a challenge for him? She didn't see it that way anymore.
"No Penny, you didn't laugh," Luke took it as a good sign she had used his name and that her breath was still a little unsteady. "You're trembling."
"Well maybe I'm not used to kissing coworkers all because of a misunderstanding." Penny lashed out. Luke saw hurt scuttle across her face and he knew she was slamming her walls back in place. He had to act.
"Well, neither am I chicka, but I was sure glad I did." Her gaze met his.
With that Luke brought her back for another kiss. Penelope's knees weakened as his mouth possessed her bottom lip. Luke let Penelope sink into him before he encouraged her mouth open again, this time running his tongue gently between her lips, asking for her entry which she eagerly gave, there was no playing coy in this moment. There were no walls: just Like and Penelope. Luke was determined to make kiss one last a minute. He knew the sheriff was a smart man, he just didn't know he was this smart.
