rising from the grave to make this post because it's ginjima hitoshi's bday and it's what he DESERVES

people think it's either atsumu or osamu who know suna the best but no. it's actually gin

their entire first year was just gin trying to befriend the moody new transfer recruit and suna trying to escape gin's Wrath of Friendship and being a little bitch bc he was homesick

aran, sobbing to kita after meeting gin for the first time: "he's so nice and sane and the twins and kosaku are goin' to eat him alive - " kita, patting his back: "don't worry, suna might bite his head off first"

gin and suna really are best friends tho bc their concerns are the exact opposite of each other's and that's so fucking funny to me

(okay i'm sorry i'll stop with the blatant gin appreciation agenda)

what pisses suna off the most about inarizaki (or the town i imagine inarizaki is in, anyways) is that it's nowhere near the ocean

i've been imagining suna to be from one of aichi's oceanside cities for a while, so - i just think he'd miss having it close, y'know?

meanwhile like half of the inarizaki vbc has never even seen a beach and suna is apalled

"do any of you even know how to swim?" "of course we know how to swim, ya dickwad - " "no ya fuckin don't, tsumu, you almost drowned in the shower last week - "

(suna promises, someday, that they can take a trip and he'll show them what home is to him - or what home used to mean to him, anyways)

oomimi's current concern is that he and kita look like an old married couple when they drink tea together. to remedy this, oomimi starts bringing tea for the whole team

this does not work because now people are saying they all look like one big family

kita plays along because he actually likes watching his friends suffer. "it's okay, if you hate it that much we can just get divorced."

"i'd make a terrible parent. i'd lose the baby and i'd step on the baby and i'd scare the baby and i don't know how to burp it!" - oomimi, the most distraught and stressed out the underclassmen have ever seen him

(riseki and gin, whispering to each other: "did he just call a baby an it - " "he's having a breakdown, let it go")

"look, oomimi, if you're so worried then just pat me on the back and i'll burp for ya! i can do it on command - " "akagi don't make it weird - "

aran keeps a chalkboard record of how many practices they can have in a row without osamu trying to chuck a volleyball at atsumu's face. the record has been a blank slate since it started in the twins' first year

oomimi being the one who can read kita best is also really funny bc like. nobody can tell if oomimi is telling the truth or if he's just fucking with them.

"no way kita-san called him an asshole, even if it was inside his head - " "sure he did, that's what his left eyebrow twitch means" "this is why everyone thinks yer an old married couple"

suna likes fruit jelly sticks bc his family always took a pack whenever they went to the beach and he and his sister would always share them when they needed a break from playing

okok i’m not gonna write like a whole scenario abt this rn but i’m just thinking about having something casual w/ tsum until he gradually starts liking you more and more and one day during a hookup he looks down at you, splayed out against the pillows and covers, sweaty and practically glowing from the light of the sunset and the words just tumble out of his mouth without thinking. before you can say anything he drops down closer to you and buries his face in your neck picking up his pace while you try to register the fact that he just said “i love you”.

n after the whole mess he stays, and he’s watching you from the bed in the dimming light of the night and realizes he actually meant it. once you come back to bed and press yourself against him again he somehow musters up the courage to tell you so, simultaneously cursing himself for doing it and desperately hoping you’ll say the same.

Ushijima had everything planned. He had bought the ring forever ago, when he knew you two were going to be together forever. He even had Tendō show a picture of the ring he wanted to get you as like an off handed “would you like this kind of thing” when Ushijima wasn’t around to see if you’d actually like it (you would. You died. It was gorgeous).

He had a photographer ready, he even had a videographer cause he heard you could save a video of the moment and he thought you’d like that. He had planned it all at the top of the hill, late at night when the stars were out, just like it was when he first told you he loved you there.

So how did it all go wrong?

How did he end up throwing his and Tendō whole apartment around, desperately trying to find that little velvet box?

general haikyuu hcs!

surprise more general hcs! i’m working on something with Suna rn but these have been on the brain so here you go.

atsumu is a sleep talker, osamu snores really loudly. on several occasions during training camps tsumu has told samu to shut up in his sleep. it freaks out the rest of the team, especially aran

the only reason ushijima doesn’t laugh much is because he’s insecure about it. it’s loud, and goofy, and he snorts without fail every time. tendou knows this, and as a result constantly tries to get him to laugh in public. it’s worked two times:

the first was when they were coming out of the locker room for practice early, and tendou made a comment about coach washijo, which made ushijima let out the b i g g e s t snort

only to round the corner and see goshiki and shirabu staring at them.

the only time they’ve ever seen him look embarrassed

second time around was during a late night snack run

ushi is just trying to pick something so he can go back to the dorms and sleep meanwhile tendou is taking advantage of the flash sale on ice cream

he finds tendou rummaging around in the freezer section and tries to get his attention, only for tendou to whip around with two popsicle stick hanging out each side of his mouth

ushijima laughs so hard they get escorted from the store

in addition to his pet turtle, aone has a lot of houseplants

he does his best to be gentle with them and takes very good care of them

he names all of them <3

on one of futakuchi’s birthdays he gifts him an ivy plant bc they represent friendship

futakuchi does his best to take care of it afterwards
