Hecate, the Violet Witch!
I’m losing it because this is the best drawing I’ve done in a while…

Blaze and Lixue doodles! (Also practicing with watercolors a little bit—It looks better, but it takes so much more time!)

This track is pretty old—I’ve been sitting on it for a year or so because it’s honestly not my best work, and doesn’t quite click with a lot of my other music…

STARKIN (AN INFODUMP ABOUT MY PERSONA'S RACE)
Starkin are beings of pure astral magic. They live on a planet--Name tbd--constructed on the subconscious plane. Starkin are conceived from the collective thoughts of a life-sustaining planet, and grow up on that planet in order to influence and be influenced by it. As a result, Starkin have incredibly flexible and unpredictable biologies. A very large portion of their appearance reflects their personality and thoughts.
While most Starkin have a wide range of powers and traits, they can be thematically classified based on astrology. (I want to clarify that I am NOT an astrology girl, that bullshit is beyond made up, but the concept is cool as a fictional tool.)
For instance, Astrifer is an Aquarian. She's self-possessed and individualistic--And her powers mostly revolve around self-expression through magical constructs, as most Aquarian Starkin's would.
This can be applied to other signs as well:
Taurans, for instance, would have the ability to grant themselves or others strength or size.
Virgons' power would revolve around the building blocks of life. They could create hyperactive plants, or heal those around them.
Capricorans could bend or distort reality, or potentially create illusions.
Sagittarians might have time-bending powers that would allow them to process complex situations.
Librans would be able to have powerful effects on other people, lifting their spirits, rousing their confidence, or pressing them down if need be.
And so on!
All Starkin visit their planet in their dreams, where they can interact with their fellow kind and exchange stories of their homes. It's especially helpful for the younger Starkin, who often feel lost, confused, or frustrated with their partial alienation from society without the context of their purpose.
Although they have immortal forms, Starkin have mortal minds, and their body ages to reflect their development. When a Starkin is satisfied with their life and ready to move on, their essence dissolves and recollects back into a new, infantile form, ready to grow up and experience life on their planet all over again. With the exception of some Geminons, Sagittarians, or Cancerans, Starkin are generally unable to remember their past lives, because the infinite cyclical nature of their lives would damage their psyches.
Starkin influence and are influenced by their planet in all sorts of different ways. Astrifer, for example, is primarily an agent of change, inspiring humans to move forward and continue exploring new ideas at her most powerful, and being deeply inspired in turn by humanity's creations as she grows up.
(Of course, that's just so she can have an interesting story. I wouldn't be so bold as to imply that I do anything even remotely like that, other than being heavily inspired by other people, which I definitely do a lot of. -3-)
