I am incredibly sorry for the lack of posts and the fault is completely on me. I procrastinated on a project and now I need to write around 20 pages until tommorrow evening.

Yeah.

Hopefully that will help me return to the cycle of writing posts from time to time. Heck, maybe even return to making somewhat consistent text posts! What may sound strange for this blog is that I love creating theories and think of different scenarios but I kinda hate the process of writing it down (or generally make it into something that exists not only in my brain). It's filled with so much dread. I feel it each time I write long posts/comments. Or projects. Or casual letters. Or... writing literally everything to anyone! That's both the reason I procrastinated this project and haven't really written here. I push myself to write stuff down. That dread makes me want to reread, recheck my writing a dozen times, only for me to still find mistakes (from silly typos to badly written thoughts) almost right after making texts/letters/messages public. It makes writing process so unnesessarily long and daunting, an unpleasant combination. The thing is - the payoff from that, at least for this blog, is so so great. What pushed me to do this blog in the first place is the thought "I'd be so happy to have at least one person to like my world and stories in a way I love infroom", so I assumed I might be not the only one to think this way. And so I decided to be the fan that I myself would love to see one day for my work. And I think of that every single time I do something here.

Even though I told that I won't be posting unrelated stuff here, on this blog, I do think that a) for those 24 people that follow me for some reason I kinda owe an explanation. "kinda". I just think it's a right thing to tell where the heck am I. b) I need to start writing those 20 pages so might as well do a warm up. Something easier to write - not sciency, almost unedited, and quick to do.

Hey man I think you need to go find Tango. When Grian and Mumbo are distracted by something run, or they'll try to stop you. As one of his friends he shouldn't attack you, and if he does I think you can take him. I saw you glitching out with your teeth growing sharper and stuff. Maybe you can get him to calm down, and realize he's still Tango. He could help you with whatever's happening to you. Mumbo and Grian won't understand though, they've already given up on Tango. He doesn't deserve that, does he?

Blog Update!

Because of hardships irl (including extremely poor and limited internet connection that was needed for family needs AND tumblr being usable only with stable good connection) I stopped checking tumblr and relied on notifs. The only ones I recieved were about bots following me on my main + occasional likes on my theory posts. But by the time my life got somewhat sorted out I stopped recieving notifs at all and haven't thought once that tumblr app may have given up on me. This is the first time I logged into tumblr in... 3 month? Oh my. Honestly still don't know how much I've missed, but I'll catch up and be back with my usual theory crafting and general brainrotting!

Slowly remembering html and css to rematch Tumblr with its stupid inability to post semi-transparent gifs. My solution won't work for mobile users sadly, but at least I'll remember something I learned years back and it will push me a little bit closer to my old dream of creating animations that break 4th wall. Soon :)

Endermites

They don’t work like vanilla ones and that spawns a bunch of questions. All we know is that Grian spawned them, they can talk to hermits they bit and they know about some kind of exit.

Whose sides they’re on (if any)? Do they have their own personalities or are they all act the same?  How sentient they are? Do they have collective/personal goals? What are those? Do they want to get out of the Room? If so, do they need help from the hermits? And generally, what are their motives to help hermits and tell different information? Do they know about our (readers) existence? How many are in the Room? (it shouldn’t be an exact number).

Room is strange and not vanilla, so why am I that worried about sentient bugs with unclear motives?

But I got a bit sidetracked. My main point is that we, readers, need to establish communication with mites. It may become very crucial in the future. Not just ask everyone “Hey, what have you learned about the room in those 3 years from the mites?”. We need a somewhat reliable translator (Mumbo is a good one, but so is Tango - I would bet Tango is better for our goal, he doesn’t seem to hide anything from us). Actually, we need to aim to get everyone’s agreement, because we don’t know when we need mite’s help and who will be available to help with the translation. Also it’s a good idea to just learn more about endermites as sentient creatures. I hope at least one of the hermits agrees to help us have a chill talk with the mites. “How are you, small mighty creature?”~~

This is home (Animatic storyboard) | Hermitcraft The Infinity Room AU

I finished storyboard (sort of - read further to understand why) for Tango and Mumbo from Infinity Room AU! I got pretty lazy and bored half way, so some of those frames were made for shits and giggles, and there is one part I have no idea what to do with. This storyboard was fun to make, which helped a lot with actually finishing this task. Known problems: video quality is less than ideal and looks like some animation stuttered during rendering, but as of now I have no idea how to fix this. Yes, I memed too hard. No, all those memes won’t go into final animatic. No, I’m not doing a normal version of the storyboard. It already took me at least 6 hours to do it and I’m not willing to redo it. I had my share of fun doing this, not redoing it for the sake of “it needs to be serious and close to my vision”, at this point I better start doing final product.

Remember I mentioned I made a text-only storyboard for This is home animatic? After last updates I realized some lines will be better with new scenes based on new info. So today I was making some edits to that storyboard and actually adding very rough sketches + adding references + splitting everything into neat sections on screen so I can hopefully show you all something, and I hope to finish most of the sketches today. It looks like this:

So. Imagine a scene:

“Tango finds False (she's offscreen), he's looking somewhere towards the camera. His excitement quickly turns into concern, then into fear. False shows on screen, she and her cape block our view of Tango, and then either cape blocks the entire screen, or she vanishes“. Yep, this animatic is filled with my assumptions regarding some events, and that’s the moment when Tango finds False for the first time -  she’s already corrupted at this point, and practically flees from her. In the last month I got a slight addition for this idea - Tango attacks False in self defense, but False slices endermite with a sword and Tango’s expression changes immediately from serious and collected to shocked because he for some reason did not expect anyone to kill those mites. He’s in complete shock and disbelief from realizing he just lost a loyal friend who fought for him.

Imagined that? Is it epic? Does this moment feel meaningful? Good. Because I can’t stop giggling from my lazy sketches for this moment. (Under the cut)
