Kai trusted Mizu because Kai had been beaten and abused by men who we’re trying to break her, but she connected with Mizu when Mizu leaned into her own gentle femininity. They connected through their mutual newfound softness and affection! Mikio taking Kai away (because he gifted Kai to Mizu then gave Kai to the lord) is just the most heartbreaking way to show how Mikio took Mizu’s womanhood, not to mention her heart!
Even though I believe her mom betrayed her by selling her location to the bounty hunters, Mikio still betrayed her!
(I know it’s obvious, but I think about it every day)

I realized I never uploaded my prologue to my BES comic “Raindrops”. Hope this provides a little bit of context.

First time posting on Tumblr! Since I can’t write for beans I’m gonna draw out my BES fan fiction. I hope y’all enjoy it! Please be kind with your comments.
Sorry! Some things to note:
- This story takes place a year or two after Mizu finished revenge quest.
- Mizu has settled in the country side with Ringo. Retired to quiet life. Mizu is lost now that her revenge purpose is over.
- Taigen hasn’t forgotten Mizu and finds her to try to win her back.
- At some point in the past (probably during her revenge quest) Mizu did reveal her true gender to him. Maybe I will do a flash back episode. Not sure. “
- Inspiration for this story came from the talented Kaladinkholins (Salamisato)’s fic on AO3 called “A New Ember”. You should definitely read it!
- Most of this comic will be fluff with a little bit spice woven in so be warned!
