trashy poems #3
a world i'm not a part of
turbulent ocean waves
and romanticised shipwrecks
a chaotic dimension
where i'm non-existant
my laughter isn't a part of the plot
my thoughts lost in the white noise
all the luminous starfishes
the pearls and the pirates
at a sweet distance
i'm a sole spectator
in an empty theatre
watching the greatest plays
flowing away with time, with the waves
and when their masks fall off their faces
i see their flaws and their naked shame
a collage of ancient human emotions
and i wish to be a part of that mess
a hand to hold, a face to smile at
a heart to worship, a soul to treasure
stories to trace and traverse
from the womb to the tomb
stories to be a narrator in
not just a mere spectator

Longing, how soft a word for such a ravenous feeling. How we hunger in silence.
