I think one of my favorite creative joys is seeing how many different things people can do with the same concept. give ten writers the same starting point, or basic plot, or set of tropes to use and you're still going to get wildly different end results
the details you focus on, the ones you omit, turns of phrase, tone, and framing, the cadence and tempo of the sentences themselves, all the little fingerprints you've left littered across the prose — how you tell the story matters, and your personal voice is what makes it unique
#this is one of my favorite things and boy has it been good to reconnect to that love#i was so gunshy with this in dnd 2.0 bc of a lot of uuuh yanno#but it's so much fun to see how characters parallel eachother#and how we as players use similar concepts and our characters relate or don't

Normal fucking people who are barely able to make ends meet are desperately trying to cobble together enough money to send to corrupt extortionist Egyptian officials to evacuate people from an extermination camp while rich as fuck celebrities who could probably singlehandedly fully fund every Palestinian family's escape fund do absolutely nothing. What a monumentally cruel and humiliating way of being tbh.
