This is one of the most difficult statements I have ever had to write - and it is one which I hoped I would not need to do for many years. I am devastated that my time at Chelsea has come to an end. This is a club where I felt at home, both professionally and personally. Thank you so much to all the staff, the players and the supporters for making me feel very welcome from the start. Roman Abramovich has decided to sell the club. He will not ask for Chelsea to repay the £1.5B loan to him and his team set up a charitable foundation where all net proceeds from the sale will be donated. The foundation will be for the benefit of all victims of the war in Ukraine. This includes providing critical funds towards the urgent and immediate needs of victims, as well as supporting the long-term work of recovery.

He’s parted with the following words:

Please know that this has been an incredibly difficult decision to make, and it pains me to part with the Club in this manner. However, I do believe this is in the best interest of the Club.

I hope that I will be able to visit Stamford Bridge one last time to say goodbye to all of you in person. It has been a privilege of a lifetime to be part of Chelsea FC and I am proud of all our joint achievements. Chelsea Football Club and its supporters will always be in my heart.

Women’s FA Cup winners 2021

As a club that has always continuously has been on top of their game trying to combat racism and discrimination we are horrified about the news about the owner funding terrorists this, together with their disappointing silence in regards to Palestine, and ignoring the overwhelming calls for the club to stand WITH Palestine (as well) there’s no words that can describe my disappointment at this club. Roman is shamelessly using the club’s platform to spread zionist agenda (you can both denounce anti-semitism and stand with the innocent Palestinians losing their homes and loved ones).

If you stand with Palestine I know as no other how it feels right now seeing the club you love and support do this. What YOU can do as a Chelsea supporter

-You boycott the club, you don’t buy/spend money on the club or watch their games that could benefit the club financially

-One thing worth mentioning is the fact that you do not need to worry that the money you spent on the club was used to fund wars because Roman does not earn money through Chelsea. We are partly self run club making profit off player sale and European success/broadcasting and partly get funded BY the owner. He has never used the club’s money and hopefully it stays like that.

-Use your VOICE. It’s worth trying to directly call for action by either protests, social media calls, writing mails etc. You as a supporter have every right to call out the club that you support so make use of your voice and denounce the club being made a complicit in this.

-REPORT ABUSE. Wherever you see

-Use the BDS Movement Guideline

-Educate yourself and each other. Criticism towards Israel is NOT! anti-semitism. This mindset has been weaponized by zionists to silence those supporting the rights of Palestinians to LIVE in freedom so don’t fall for it. Educate yourself and others.
